I just ate there last week with my wife for lunch. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for. Monte Cellos is certainly an affordable place but the food really isn't that good except for maybe their pizza and pasta. The ambiance is acceptable though it is an older place and the service is fine with mostly young girls tending bar. They do have daily draft beer specials for $3 and daily lunch specials that are very reasonable. I used to go there all the time but I really don't frequent it much anymore. Mainly because I can afford better. Parking is ample in a large parking lot and I believe they're open until 9:00 or 10:00 pm. read more

We haven't been here for about 3 years so we decided to have lunch here (Cranberry location). My husband's hot hoagie had 2 very thin pieces of meat, some onion, and a LOT of lettuce. No cheese or tomato. My side salad had lettuce, some shaved cheese, and a lot of very hard croutons. My garlic bread had hardly any butter and very little, if any, garlic. It's a shame that the service brought this down from 5 to 3 stars. I understand that everyone has a bad day and makes mistakes but it does bring the experience down. There weren't many people in the restaurant. Our server had us and one other party of two. He would disappear for 10, 15. 20 minutes at a time. He never brought out my simple cup of soup and never offered to refill our drinks until we asked. He needs more training. He only stepped up his game when he knew he messed up with the soup and I told that him that I now don't want it since our main food came out. Now the food was awesome. We had pizza with pepp and sausage, and a calzone. All very good. Top notch stuff. Just the service...damn...too many really good Italian restaurants to frequent and unfortunately this won't be one. Overall decent food. We went Friday after work for drinks, appetizers, and entrées. We all split provolone wedges, Zucchini planks, and spinach rolls. While all were good, the Zucchini and wedges were frozen and not fresh. The rolls were excellent. I ordered a rum and coke but wasn't very strong and only tasted soda. The only complaint was it took forever to get our food. We were there an hour and a half before getting our main dishes. I also got pineapple and bacon pizza buy when it came out, they put pepperoni on it instead. At that point, we didn't have time to wait for them to fix it. We had another engagement to attend to so we had to have everything boxed to go. We would have went elsewhere or ordered differently if we were told the wait was going to be so long. read more

They took the pizza back and brought me the Sicilian. It is quite clear the waitstaff is dedicated to pleasing the customers. Furthermore, the pleasant atmosphere is appealing to people of all ages . We had our grandson's college graduation party at Monte Cello's on Babcock Blvd. on Sunday August 1. First of all the banquet menu had a very good selection of food. Ashley, the banquet coordinator was a pleasure to deal with. The banquet room was very nice and the perfect size for the 50 people who attended. The food was outstanding. Our entree picks were stuffed shells, chicken Romano and roast beef au jus. The two servers were excellent. They kept up with the drink requests and accommodated every thing we asked for. Nothing was a problem for them. They were extremely friendly and professional. And lastly, we were very happy with the final price - which included an open bar. My family enjoyed a recent dinner at Monte Cello's on Babcock Blvd. It was very busy but we enjoyed a drink while waiting in the bar. My children started with wedding soup which they loved while my husband and I had a side green salad. It was very fresh and the salad dressing was homemade and terrific. Each of our meals (fettuccine, Stromboli and fried fish) were delicious, portion sizes were very large and all were fabulous. For dessert we had a large, hot chocolate chip cookie with ice cream which was just amazing! Best dessert I've in along time. Highly recommend this restaurant. I just got an original calzone for dinner. I enjoy their calzones and have gotten them quite a few times. What I have never seen is a lot of black pepper on the top. This calzone has at least a pound of pepper on it (obviously an exaggeration). But believe me it was alot. My husband and I had dinner at Monte Cellos on Babcock tonight and it was very disappointing. I had lasagne and it did not taste like any that I have had there before. It tasted like someone went to the grocery and bought a can of Gia Russa sauce and just poured it on. There were no spices and it just tasted like plain tomato sauce. I brought it home and can hopefully salvage it by adding some sauce and spices at home. They also brought cold breadsticks to the table which were not good. My husband who loves their pizza and usually gets it once a week, did not like his pizza the last two times he has had it. It seems like the quality of the food is on a downhill slope. Don't think I've ever had a meal that I was disappointed in. Depending on what night of the week you go, you might have about a 10-20 minute wait (usually on weekends). The service is usually pretty good. I've had many different waiters and waitresses serve me and my family and they all are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to make recommendations. The portion sizes are quite generous and there will plenty to take home for lunch or dinner the next day. What I like about this place is they are able to serve a crowd! This is my new favorite Italian place. The Bartender Patty (I think that's her name) is great! My friend had the HH (5-7pm) pepperoni rolls and the 4 cut pizza with mushrooms... DELICIOUS. I had the pistsacio and brown sugar salmon with pasta Romano. Holy Pepperonis was it phenomenal. I just at my left overs and I can't wait to order more. The garlic focaccia was gooey and just as comforting as the dirty martini was. My only complaint is the lack of bar space... it was always full because everything is delicious! read more
