For whatever reason, I also ordered breaded zucchini and pepperoni rolls. I made a salad and we decided to eat the pepperoni rolls with the breaded zucchini - yum! Saving the Parmesan for a Meatless Friday alongside the garlic bread accompanying it. We love Frankie's pizza; will be adding the new items to the repertoire. We ordered 2 fish sandwiches one with fries and one with coleslaw. The bun was burnt and the fish was dripping in grease and burnt also. I called to complain and I heard the owner in the background say "tell her we are busy and I will call back". Needless to say no call was returned. read more

We have really enjoyed the Bianco Florentine specialty pizza with a thin crust so much that we've ordered it several times, and it's always fresh from the oven and delicious. We usually get a side of fried zucchini with marinara sauce. I order online, then my husband goes to pick it up. He says the staff is friendly, the order is always ready and the last time he was there he also bought a quart of frozen potato soup which we haven't tried yet. I recommend Frankie's Italian Kitchen. Do yourself a favor! Make a special trip to Frankie's Italian Kitchen. It's right off the highway and there are only a few seats but this little spot has heart and fabulous food. And some of the nicest people you will ever meat. When Frankie sold the business he included his grandmother's recipes with the deal and you will be so happy he did. How does anyone like it here? The people are very nice but the food is so lousy. Virtually every single pizza place within 5 miles has much better pizza. A hidden gem located a few miles outside Southpointe PA. Great spot for quick lunch or dinner. Frankie, owner, is always in the back cooking away. Welcoming atmosphere, Frankie and his staff recognizes familiar faces. Always enjoy coming back. Takeout or eat in joint. They also do delivery. Never had an issue with seating, but there are 4 tables max. Menu is mostly Italian, but there are hoagies and salads if you are not in the mood for carb loading. Called today for a Italian hoagie placed order At 11am said it would be ready at 1130 show up to pick it up 1130 apparently the cook stepped out said maybe be ready in about 15 more minutes not the way to get customers especially when they have 30 min for lunch will not be ordering here again had to cancel order and go with out lunch today thanks a lot read more

Frankie's is a wonderful family owned establishment in the South Hills. Very reminiscent of a home cooked Italian meal, don't go in expecting anything gourmet, but your meal will be hearty and filling, though ultimately average. However I found that wasn't the draw of the experience for me. I can honestly say this was hands down the best experience I have ever had in the service industry. Everyone was not just helpful, but actually genuinely kind and welcoming and wonderful and the service was quick and delightful. It was a positive and warm environment, and I cannot speak more highly of the entire staff. Also, the portions are HUGE, you can get a couple meals out of it for sure, and the price is right for what you're getting! Frankie's has a very good pizza, better than most in the Peters Twp. area. Hand tossed thin-crust pie that is crisp along the edge yet soft and tasty. If you are a NY style folder you will like this pizza. A good tasting homemade sauce. Will have to stop back and try some of the other items on the menu. Frankie's is take out since there is no where to sit. We stopped by after biking on the Montour trail and just took the pizza back to the trail and eat on a bench. They were lacking flavor, it was literally was just pizza dough and melted cheese, no garlic, oregano, etc. would have liked some garlic sauce on the side too. The worst thing we had the cinnamon sticks. There was hardly any cinnamon on them, they looked exactly like the cheesy breadsticks just plain. Definitely needed a lot more cinnamon, and sugar on them to be worth getting them. We would order pizza again from Frankie's but not the other stuff. read more

We tried this place out on Monday night. It was our first time. They have a small dine-in area. It was pretty good. We had the pasta Rosa and Italian hoagie. I think the person who waited on us may have been the owner. The bun on my hoagie was great & crunchy. The cooking time was very fast. I live in Upper St Clair. I never knew this place was even existed. I wanted to try it so we could use them for delivery. I'm always looking for places to deliver to the house on Sundays during Steeler games but they are closed on Sundays. I find this to be very odd. Sundays are big for delivery. Who wants to cook on Sundays & especially during Steeler games. We always have guests over to watch the games. But there are so many other pizza joints out there, I will just have to use another on game day. read more

Delicious food and very friendly staff. There are a couple small tables outside and the inside dining area consists of a few tables but it seems most people get takeout. My family of four ate inside and it was exactly what we wanted - a casual and non-pretentious place where we could hear each other talk while enjoying good food in a friendly atmosphere. We ordered cheese sticks, pizza, chicken parm sandwich, and spaghetti and meatballs and it was all so good. The spaghetti and meatballs are THE BEST around. If you ever get lost in Lawrence you have to stop at Frankie's. I love that Italian place. Especially that spicy meatballs that they serve every Wednesday. It is a family owned business. Very friendly. On my first visit Frankie introduced the whole family to me. It is not a place to sit down, they only have one table with two chairs outside. This restaurant is an example of how multiple stellar reviews do not necessarily translate into a good dining experience for all. It is on a busy street and there is complimentary parking in the rear. The room where diners are seated is tiny and it is separated from the kitchen by only a counter. The dining area seats at most, eight people. We sat at a bench-style table a couple of feet from kitchen supplies: pans, flour, and a box of plastic utensils. Plastic utensils and paper plates are provided to diners. On one of the hotter and more humid days of the year, the restaurant has no effective air conditioning: no apology from anyone for that. We ate our food while perspiring. We were anxious to finish and leave. The three of us asked for water, meaning tap water, which most every restaurant provides. We were brought bottles of water for which we were gouged $1.50 each. There was not much service. The individual who is apparently the owner took care of us. We were understanding of the current staffing challenges restaurants are experiencing. I asked for grated cheese and black pepper. On the second request, these items were provided. The pepper container was large and it was greasy. The individual who served us took away the grated cheese for a few minutes without asking and then brought it back. The food was decent and the price is right for most items: meatball pizza, fried zucchini, pasta rosa (which had very little sauce), and french fries. Never again. read more

The basics are excellent. The pizza is founded on a hardy but airy crust. The sauce is absolutely unbelievably good. The menus exceptional in entrees. The pastas and sauces are as varied as they are amazing! The meatballs aren't hamburger with oregano but the genuine thing and the sausage is mouth watering.. I picked up lunch from Frankie's earlier this week for the first time. I work very close and have always forgotten to go there but finally remembered. After hearing very good things about it, I had fairly high expectations and Frankie's didn't disappoint. The food was excellent. But even better than that was the friendly staff. This is hands down my favorite place for Italian food. This place is spotless and everyone there is always super friendly. And the food - OMG - absolutely delicious!! I love everything I've tried there so far, but my favorites are the Italian Hoagie and the Fresh Cut Fries with cheese. They easily beat the Potato Patch fries at Kennywood! And on top of all that they also have homemade "hot" meatballs and fresh homemade soups.
