Very traditional family-style Italian restaurant. Everyone is very friendly and helpful here. I like that they took my order right away, and my food came quickly. The prices are very low, and they have a very loyal following. I did feel that I was stepping back in time. I thought the Wedding Soup was very salty, which is unfortunate, because it was otherwise very authentic. The Italian Vegetables were very good, they were roasted. The portion on the Chicken Romano was generous. I ordered because it is a chef's specialty, and highly recommended by my server. The bread is very fresh and very soft. There is a $1 surcharge for using a credit card. I had fun dining here, and will return.

Calzone Large (18 Inch) Pepperoni, Mushroom, Spinach $25

I came here recently around 6:45 and it was pack! Every table was taken. We were seated immediately for two. They did have elevator music playing in the background. Conversations could be heard from around. I was excited to try this place out and it was yummy! The amount of cheese was overwhelming hahah but I would say , the menu said a large was $13 so unsure how three toppings came out to $25. Maybe they might need updated menu pricing if so. The design inside was very simple and nice. Not too much , not too little.

We drive past this establishment on our way to see the laser show at North Park.. parking lot was packed so we were excited to try after we were done. We walk in and pretty much all tables were filled. Got exited this was gonna be good! They had a table they were cleaning off .. told us it would be loud but did not expect to be that close to a work Xmas party (2 big tables). To be honest - it took away from our enjoyment - our party could not hear over the large group that surrounded us. Onward to the food. No complaints there. Our table has a few different dishes... I got pics of mine and those around me. Pizza was good ( we all shared a piece to try it)... I had the carbonara- tasty... and my brother in law. Had the chicken parm (which I wish I would have gotten instead .. very very tasty! All in all .. we enjoyed our meal and may try again when back in the area when it's no so busy ... think we would enjoy it more.

Stuffed Mushrooms with Crab Meat

Brought my grandmother here the day after Mother's Day, wasn't my first pick but it was a Monday & a lot of other places were closed & she was craving Italian! We sat on the dining side & it was a bit tight but we were fine! The servers were great, very attentive & nice. As for food, we ordered crabbed stuffed mushrooms & wedding soup to start. Mushrooms were pretty good, but the soup was just ok. Not a lot of flavor. I ordered a calazone which was HUGE. It was pretty good! My grandma ordered the Chicken Romano which was so good! The chicken was so tender & juicy & the breading was phenomenal! Cheap prices as well!

Chicken Parmesan. Was huge and so much meaty cheese.

Everything was perfect! I have no idea why I didn't try this place sooner considering the owners are from the same place in Italy that my family is from. Had the crab stuffed mushrooms, wedding soup and chicken parm. The food was amazing and the price was unbeatable. The service was top notch as my water was always full and my table was always clean! I was very impressed and will definitely be going back!

Food only for people who don't like their food to taste like anything. No taste. Horribly slow waitress.

Great pizza! I order pizza to be delivered to nurses at Passavant in the chemo area once a month. They all rave about it.

Pizza was ok. The pepperoni and sauce were very tasty but the pizza was super greasy and overall just ok.

I've heard good things about this food truck and tried it on Friday when I was t my Grandpa's…read morenearby. Their lent menu is a little more trimmed down than their regular food truck menu I have seen before. I got the fish sandwich, hush puppies, and a large side of lobster mac and cheese. It was a little pricey, $31. The lobster mac and cheese was as much as the sandwich for a container the size of a to-go soup bowl which seemed like a little much. There weren't that many lobster pieces for the price, like 3 or 4 decent-sized chunks, and the mac and cheese itself was pretty bland. The fish sandwich was the best part but I still wasn't wow-ed; I was also charged $1 for one slice of american cheese. I'm fine with paying extra for things, that just seemed excessive. The hush puppies and fries were clearly just frozen, and the fries were cold. For the price, I wouldn't come back here during lent but may visit the food truck at a different time to see the bigger menu.

The slaw was good too, but overall I'm just not that big of a fan of slaw. The fish and chips came with 4 decently sized pieces of haddock and a bunch of fries. Honestly, this could be a meal for 2 people if you're not extremely hungry. It was kind of expensive, but worth it in my opinion due to the quality and the amount of food. I would go again. I'm interested in trying their lobster rolls after lent is over!

Examples of menu items are appetizers (e.g., shrimp cocktail and nachos), soups, salads, wings, burgers, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., pasta primavera, chicken, duck, pork chop, swordfish, and A-5 wagyu), desserts (e.g., limoncello and cheesecake), and drinks (e.g., mocktails, cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and beers). My husband and I have eaten here twice--once for lunch last year and once for dinner this year. Both times, we enjoyed the employees' service and the foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Passionfruit-Paloma Mocktail - 4 stars - sour. Spring Sangria - 4.5 stars - slightly fruity. Jumbo Pretzel - 5 stars - huge size with beer cheese and mustard sauce. French Onion Soup - 5 stars - This soup had a rich broth, onions, and cheese. Ybor Cuban sandwich - 4.5 stars - nicely crunchy toast with tasty pork, ham, and Swiss cheese and a side of crispy onion rings. Salmon - 5 stars - I ordered this entree both times. The salmon was perfectly cooked and came with flavorful farro grains, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Filet Mignon - 5 stars - This 8-ounce steak was cooked mid-rare as my husband prefers. It came with whipped potatoes and his choice of au poivre style (black pepper crusted with bourbon cream).

Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.

Yelp has this place listed as closed Mondays and Tuesdays but that has recently changed. Found it on Google. Anyway-the space was welcoming right away with a huge garage door open and so many different sized TVs.arranged nicely, all tuned to local and national sports. Just a few people at the very well-kept bar, but my guess is that's because people don't know it's open on Mondays. We're really glad they were. First, their happy hour is from 6-8- 1/2 off all drinks- (!) They have a nice little selection of craft brews along with the usual suspects. We ordered two beers and grabbed a menu. Pretty standard fare. Again a nice solid offering of apps, salads, hand-held and smash burgers. They also have BBQ on Saturdays and Sundays that I hear is pretty darn good. The bartender was super friendly, greeting us right away- it was still happy hour! We ordered the hot dogs with coleslaw and baked beans to share and asked for them to be chili cheese dogs. They were super yummy with plenty of chili and cheese. The coleslaw was creamy, which I really enjoyed. The beans were good, but not my favorite. Baked beans are one of those things that everyone has a personal preference for, so I don't judge. Overall, it was a pleasant find and I recommend you make a stop when you're in the area-or make a little detour. Worth a try!
