I felt like the staff was really rushing me the entire time I was at the restaurant. Christy was fine. The pizza was good. I would probably get the pizza again, but only this takeout and not to sit in the restaurant due to the way the staff were rushing me. It use to be great. Went there today, it took 10minutes for them to take our information. We waited another 30 minutes, people were being seated the whole time. There were the 2 large empty tables that sit in front of the windows and they still wouldn't seat us as they continued to seat wait list people. Not going back after many years of going there once a week and you are loosing our business over a wait list. At least inform people of this change! read more

Today I had the best lunch out in a really long time!!! Having been to Mario's wood fired Grill in the past, Caprese Salad and Lemon Piccata are tops in my book. Today I mixed it up and had beans and greens with sausage. And shared a sausage panini with my husband. Yes 2 sausage items. Yes sausage there is excellent!! But the Beans and Greens were over the top!! Any Sicilian Grandma would be in love!! It is an appetizer but plenty as a main course! Everything was perfect in it. The seasoning was spot on. Need no salt or pepper. The fennel in the sausage was so aromatic!! I plan to do lunch more often now and enjoy these wonderful selections!!! There is street parking that is free. This is an absolute gem of a place to get some amazing pizza. Super fresh, high quality ingredients, delicious dough, some of the best I've ever had. The pasta is homemade and the red sauce is wonderful. Service is excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and made some recommendations. Food came out quick. It is also BYOB so we brought some wine. I would suggest getting there a bit early since it's a hot spot! Atmosphere is cool, lots of windows to check out downtown beaver. For work we were coming to this area to have a meeting and this was one of the places that my co-worker wanted to try out. She said that she walked by the weekend before and it looked pretty good. I was up for anything and since we were out and about for work I was excited to try something different than what we usually have in my neighborhood. We got seated right away even though it was lunch time and they had plenty of seats. We got to sit next to the wood fire stove oven thing so we could watch the pizzas go in and out. The pictures that I have are of the smaller pizzas. So I ordered a caprese salad and the rosemary pizza. I feel like I did not read the menu close enough, I blame it on being super hungry. I wish the pizza had sauce on it. Without the sauce. It was just too much cheese and rosemary. But the crust was very good. It just tasted kind of like a cheese bread instead of a pizza which is what I really wanted. But that was my own fault for not reading the menu close enough. The salad was very good with big chunks of cheese and tomatoes and I gobbled that up real fast. I would come here again but probably take a little bit more time before ordering. read more

We stopped in before light up night started and happy we did. It is a quaint place with view of pizza oven. The menu had so many great options we had to start with a pepperoni pizza as an appetizer, delicious!!!! My husband ordered the antipasta salad and I had the homemade spaghetti and meatballs. I did a call ahead order 2 hours before I'd be picking it up, I made sure to let them know this. The pasta was delicious and hot! I got a small pizza as well but that came cold. I had seen it sitting on the counter but thought nothing of it, until I got home and realized it and had to reheat it in the oven. Three stars only because the box is labeled hot and delicious. If it wasn't for the false advertising on the box I'd give it 4 stars. Deff will be back for pasta or other dishes! Probably won't do pizza again. read more

Last week was my first time here! I can't believe I have never heard of this place. Since then, I've gone two more times. I know. It's a bit obsessive. The service is amazing. The staff were welcoming, and they checked in on us just the right amount of times. We even got to meet the owner, Mario! My friend and I came in right as they opened, and I got the Chicken Carbonara, and she got the Spaghetti. The food was great! The second time I came my friends and ordered the Margherita and Pepperoni Pizza. They were so good, and the pizzas were only around $6! We all got a pizza, and, although they are smaller than the pizza you'd get at a regular pizza chain, they fill you up and taste delicious! It is BYO as all restaurants in the charming small town of Beaver, Pennsylvania cannot apply for the common liquor license. Beaver does offer free 2-hour street parking including the spots outside of Mario's, which is a prize if you score one since this restaurant is next to a Starbucks. There is indoor and outdoor (sidewalk) seating. It's a popular place that doesn't take reservations so plan accordingly during peak times. And for takeout it can also be a bit more of a typical wait because you cannot rush the tasty flavor created from a wood fired oven! read more

My 2nd visit to Mario's and the place was busy on Monday before noon so be sure to arrive a little bit earlier to get a table. From the tone I walked in until we left our servers were cheerful, attentive and gave great recommendations. We ordered a large half pepperoni and half cheese pizza. It was less than $11! We got there about 15 minutes late so the pizza was cold. Pizza still had good flavor but I think the thing that struck me the most was just how cold it was. Our fault for being late, for sure, but then I also realized they didn't have it in a traditional pizza box. It was in a box with the same cardboard strength as a shirt box. Really flimsy with zero heat retention abilities. So we would try it again but in this world of take out, having a better box would go a long way. read more
