I decided to take my niece and nephew there for dinner. Huge parking lot- no issues finding a spot. Note - they are located in more of a strip mall setting. We got seated really quick and Mike was our waiter - very nice and friendly. We had zucchini, mushroom soup, weddings soup,carbonara and a chicken parm sandwich... everything was delicious. Went to Carbonara's again with a group of friends, sitting at the circle table at the end as usual. The chicken and eggplant parm are both really good, and the tomato sauce deserves a special mention because it is very flavorful. I don't typically like fried foods, but they do it well here, crispy without being heavy. The waitresses truly feel like family, which is one of the best parts of coming back. The pizza in my opinion is just alright. While the cheese and crust have a good texture, the overall flavor of the pizza itself lacks flavor, and the cheese is a bit too oily and tends to slide off. They also go pretty light on the toppings, to the point where you can barely tell they're there, which is disappointing since the pizza already lacks flavor. Ordering a tossed salad helped because it comes with pepperoncini, which you can squeeze over the pizza to add some much needed flavor. Dipping the pizza in their house made Italian dressing actually works surprisingly well too, and I really love their Italian dressing. That said, charging $13 for a tossed salad made mostly of iceberg lettuce doesn't really match the more reasonable prices for other items on the menu here, even if the dressing is great. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the eggplant parm if that's your thing, but I'm not sure I'm sold on everything else on the menu. Compared to the previous owners, the quality of the food has gone down. Additionally, the selections have dropped in variations substantially without reason. Pizzas have gone down in quality of bake. Marsala dishes are more tough and less quality now. Recently, also, Carbonara's had a huge Health Advisory smacked on them. Prior owners ran a tight ship. Current owners let everything go downhill and thus made things unsafe for food safety. Historically I said go here. NOW I say absolutely avoid. read more

We got takeout and it was 25 min on a Saturday night. Not bad. I ordered a steak salad and it was pretty disappointing honestly. The steak had little flavor, the tomatoes were quartered which led to cutting everything up rather than it already being cut for you (personal preference I guess) and the Italian dressing was flavorless tasting mostly like oil. My husband said you could tell the ranch wasn't homemade and that was just lazy haha The stuffed peppers, however, had a kick and a good flavor to them so I was happy about those. The tiramisu was decent too, just needed more coffee flavor but had a good cream. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again but I'd be curious their pasta dishes rather than just salads. I only took one bite but I enjoyed it tremendously for being Pittsburgh pizza From that bite alone I will say it's in my top 3 spots. Four adults, two children, one baby. All left happy (including the baby)! When asked about the soup of the day (stuffed pepper soup) our waiter brought a sample to the table. We ordered it. It was delicious. The kids tried it and loved it. Even the baby loved the broth (no teeth yet!). Pizza, ravioli, lasagna, pasta and meatballs, and a seafood dish were ordered. All were top notch. This restaurant has become my "go-to" for Italian and just good food in general. Their stuffed banana peppers are my favorite appetizer around. Their zucchini sticks also do not disappoint. My favorite entree is also the Alfredo pasta with chicken, broccoli, and ziti pasta. It is so good every single time. The service is always very good and quick here as well. Even when they are very busy, we have never waited more than 10-15 minutes max because they know how to serve and handle table turnover. I came here for lunch with a church group that I'm part of and was excited to try out this Italian restaurant. Reservations are accepted and the inside is very casual. They do offer a lunch menu during the week to help save on costs. I decided to order the baked scrod which comes with a pasta of choice and then either a soup or salad as a side dish. I ordered the angel hair with marinara sauce and a cup of wedding soup. I got my soup first which was good but not one of my favorites when it comes to wedding soup. That came with two cracker packages. Later on I got the baked scrod along with a good size of angel hair in a cereal bowl. Along with it I got two large pieces of garlic bread! I thought the scrod was okay. The pasta was indeed very filling and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. The garlic bread was delicious!! I could literally make a meal out of that alone but I wanted to enjoy the rest of my meal. Some people in our group ordered dessert and offered to share some of what they had with me. One person ordered cheesecake. It was rich, creamy and oh so good. Another had tiramisu which was good but I admit I liked the cheesecake better. This used to be our go to spot for their veal parm. I ordered one order of veal parm to go. They lost my order (which isn't a big deal) but they I was charged $46 for something I usually pay $25 dollars for. So I tipped $10 but when I got home I realized I was way over charged. On a scale of documentaries to fluffy novels, Carbonara's Restaurant is a basic romance with a pretty cover. The romance is good, but it doesn't quite live up to the pretty cover. My boyfriend and I visited Carbonara's Restaurant for the first time this week, and we were looking for something that offered a touch more class to an Italian meal. Our waitress offered good service (but she didn't bring us the wine list or offer it). We did enjoy perusing the menu, and we opted for the Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, the Seafood Casserole entree, Stuffed Chicken entree, and two desserts to go. Carbonara's definitely fits the bill for providing a nice eatery for an Italian meal, and our meals were good. Portions were reasonable (but not large). The side salad had a nice mix of vegetables (and this should be noted since I think a lot of restaurants tend to ignore the salad). And kudos for bringing the dressing on the side! We opted to have the desserts at home, and both were delicious (Tiramisu and Lemon Berry Cake). I doubt we will return because I'd prefer the meal to be a touch more delicious to match the prices. Wanting to try a new Italian place that we haven't had before, we gave Carbonara's a go to-go. Not really wanting red sauce, I tried their seafood Primavera. If you like a saucy pasta, I wouldn't recommend this. There wasn't much to it. The quality seemed to be pretty decent but the flavor lacked. My husband went for the meatball casserole. My table got a variety of dishes and appetizers including wedding soup, salad, mozz sticks, banana peppers, chicken parm, Italian hoagie, and margarita pizza. The ranch that came with the salad and mozz sticks was bad and obviously not house made. The chicken parm tasted overly breaded and didn't have a lot of flavor. My dining partner enjoyed his $13 plate of rigatoni, but when he wakes for more bread, the server said it wound be $.75 extra. To add insult to injury, the bread was not only nothing special, it was hard. My garden salad was mostly white iceburg lettuce, flat dressing...not impressed. The prices are no bargain ($17.50 chicken dish). Atmosphere is pretty much non existent , solid color walls, no decorations, no tablecloths. Attended a dinner with friends, the food was as usual delicious. The service was terrible. The older gentleman that waited on us was awful. Everything he served was slammed down. Never offered a second drink or even water. When he brought the bread he slammed the bread plates on the end of the table instead of placing them at each place. He served the soup with his thumb in it. One person was served soup without a spoon and had to ask twice as he kept forgetting. One of the dinners were served five minutes after everyone else. Definitely the worst service I've ever had. When the bill came I still tipped, but, only a little over 10% for the poor service. He actually came over, taped me on the shoulder and said you only tipped me 10%. Not to make a scene I ignored him, of course he did it again. "You only tipped me 10%".
