A cute coffee shop with a great atmosphere to chat with friends or put headphones In and get some work done. The staff is always kind and there's seating on weekdays during the day. In the evenings and especially Sundays you may have to fight college students for seating or parking. read more

Monkey Nest Coffee - Moneky's nest happy hippy smoothie is one of my favorites. Happy Hippie Smoothie - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

Went here once before but was disappointed, tried them again today and unfortunately still disappointed. Coffee here tastes watered down. Even tried the cold brew to get something with more of a kick and I must say this is like an iced coffee I can make at home. Not strong whatsoever, and tastes watered down. I will say the banana nut muffin was great! To add, both times I came here the staff seemed "annoyed" even when I asked questions I get a blank stare and one word answer back. For someone who wants actual "help" I suggest going somewhere else. read more

Much more of a warm local environment compared to the new minimal vibe in these popular Austin coffee shops. Appreciate the atmosphere a lot with space to get work done. I will say it's pretty dark if you sit at the back. More natural light towards the front. Service isn't that fast and it's not slow either. The iced latte is more milky than my preference. But I don't hate it either! Got the matcha. Prefer it sweet or else it tastes bitter. Sorry! Don't look at me like that. Save yourself some change of the extra costs of syrup and douse ur drinks with the free simple syrup!! Will go more for convenience purposes. Also, fast FREE wifi where I don't have to beg for a dang code. That's all loves! read more

Their coffee is honestly some of the best I've had! I love iced lattes, and theirs was delicious. Perfect start to a Monday morning :)

This is my favorite go-to spot for getting some work done outside. Staff are always nice people, there's a good selection of outlets, and the atmosphere is has an excellent local conducive towards productivity. Tbh, many things could be improved - drinks and snacks quality could be more consistent, wifi could be better. But I've felt myself drawn to this place many many times and frequently come here. Overall, I wouldn't come here for the drinks or food (or even the wifi), but the atmosphere is really amazing and perfect for productivity with a nice local feeling and plenty of parking. read more

What a wonderful coffee shop, hidden in plain sight. I've been there a couple of times and it's always the same. Great customer service from the barista's and plenty of yummy and fresh coffee cakes and the like. I regularly meet clients and friends there just to get off the grid and have some privacy. It's nice to get coffee and a real ceramic cup instead of a paper cup that dissipates quickly. There's something about the weight of that cup in your hand that'sort of kind of makes you feel at home. I love love love this place. read more

Monkey Nest Coffee - Goes well with coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

I love the vibe of this cafe, always bustling with a good crowd at any time of the day. You walk in to see people catching up, students studying, people working/reading or even interviews in progress. Mind you, this is a 24*7 cafe so you can drop by any time!! The coffee, chai latte and Persian iced tea are my personal favorites. There are plenty of food options here. Breakfast tacos until 11am, sandwiches made to order, prepped dishes, chips, cookies and other bakery items. Some of the cheesecakes in the dessert section look tempting! Considering this is next to the busy main road, there is plenty of parking. The cafe has ample seating room with tables, couches and patio. They have kept the vibe student friendly, with a lot of charging points and individual tables. There is a quiet study area as well, if you do not want to be disturbed. Of the dozens of times that I have been here, I always enjoyed good and quick service by the baristas. read more

With so many reviews and such a good rating, we were definitely disappointed. I have to give them kudo for opening 24/7. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the first 24/7 coffee shop in DFW area. We showed up at an odd hours around 2pm, yet the place was packed. The place was smaller than I expected, and it was definitely hard to find a table when they're busy. .5 star Neither one of us enjoyed our drink. My latte tasted burnt and didn't come with any latte art. My SO's iced coffee tasted a lil watered down. They do have a lot of food options on the menu, so i'm gonna give them benefit of the doubt and 1 star The people who work here are friendly and very efficient. We might come back here again if we happen to be in the area late at night and looking for somewhere to sit down, have some small bites, and good talk over probably tea next time lol. 1 star granted This is the break down of my rating for coffee shops: Offering latte art consistently: 1 star Quality of coffee/drinks/food: up to 2 stars Atmosphere: 1 star Customer service: 1 star read more

Monkey Nest Coffee - Hazelnut latte - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

Coffee & Pastries were really good but the Double Sized Hungry Monkey was nasty. You can't microwave a taco in plastic paper and then expect the taco not stick to paper. I ended up with half tortilla and my egg making a mess. Charging $6.00 for a taco to fall apart was messy. Fernie C San Antonio read more

Their iced coffee is so good!! Really great service too. There is a nice parking lot with lots of space and the inside of the shop is roomy with lots of tables to sit. Both of those things are sometimes hard to come by in Austin. read more

Meh. They go to a lot of effort on the looks and the branding. Nice space, but a lot of stress around people taking up space. It's pretty clear that there is a battle with students or locals who want to camp out for wifi. Every table has several signs taped to them, more signs on the walls with long explanations. The staff is very friendly. Texas Traders Coffee. If you love it, you'll be happy. If you don't like it, you may not be. They do not mention TT coffee anywhere, and sell it under the house brand. I make it a habit to understand where a shop's coffee is sourced from, as there are roasters that I love and roasters that I don't. And I always enjoy trying a roaster I'm not familiar with. Our coffees were okay. Espresso drinks, not bad, not exceptional. What I normally expect from TT coffee. We also had a small quiche and a spanikopita. Those were beautiful. But... The spanikopita was a little bland, and didn't seem to have any egg mixed in with the spinach / potato, which is what I'm used to. Among other things, like texture, it also helps even out the flavor. Otherwise, it just tastes like plain cooked spinach. On the quiche, it was okay, until near the last part of it, the black pepper was so overwhelming, that my mouth tingled for a few minutes after. read more

I saw a bunch of hype on Yelp, so I decided to make the drive to the Monkey Nest and bring my dog out with me as my personal comfort animal while I study for my chemistry (physical & inorganic chemistry) finals. I was expecting to hear classical music like what so many students claimed, but I heard nothing from the classical genre while I was at Monkey's Nest. I was disappointed by my coffee. Specifically my wildflower latte. Maybe I've outgrown coffee sweetened with syrup. I could definitely taste some coffee, but I mostly tasted syrup. Both coffee and sugar are acidic. Acid + acid = a drink that I seriously need to wash down with water. The 10% discount for bringing my own cup was cool though. Parking sucks too. Monkey's Nest is busy all the time from what I can tell. The front of the shop near the outdoor seating has non-existent parking except for a single handicap space. Usually gets taken up by non-handicap who want to drop off their kids at a coffee shop. Most of the parking is at the side of the building where the entrance is, but even those spaces are limited since Monkey Nest is so busy. So your best bet to visit is probably late at night. Hopefully you're willing to pull an all-nighter. The shop was filled with college students/millennials when I visited at around 3 P.M. on a Wednesday. Everyone is staring at their laptops, so thankfully the interior is fairly quiet. They all had the same idea as me, and the first victim of finals I saw was a lady studying organic chemistry. I got a really good sense of satisfaction watching someone struggle busing with studying for a class I passed with flying colors. The service is alright. The workers aren't approachable, but they seem willing to answer any questions you have if you do the approaching yourself. If you like your baristas/servers being all smiles for your patronage, then I suggest you don't expect that. read more

Monkey Nest is an okay place to get some late night studying done. It tends to get really busy around finals time and that makes it hard to find seats. It's a more worn in, cozy environment compared to a lot of the other day time coffee shops I prefer, but it is 24/7! brownie sandwich: - cream cheese icing? - a little hard - not too sweet hot chocolate: - not very sweet - good level of foam on top - fairly milky, doesn't have a strong chocolate taste atmosphere: - lots of small tables, which makes it feel a bit cramped - sort of dark - not cold - clears out quite a bit by around 10 pm studying: - went during finals week so it was super full, get there early to claim a good seat - free wifi - wifi kept cutting off (again, probably because it was finals week) - super quiet music, good for studying - some outlets It's a little hard to find parking but there is a lot, some of it is just in the back. read more

Over $7 for a small house brew and a breakfast taco which were both just so-so......disappointing.

It's not my most favorite flavors even the recommended ones. I just couldn't get around how the monkey mocha tasted. And for the food specifically the monkey muffin tasted like pure sugar there was no other flavor and the monkey taco was way too overpowering with its spices. I couldn't finish it. The ambience and service is really nice though. read more

Is their coffee made of gold? Why is ice coffee over $5?! Every cafe Ive been to that I bought a large iced coffee with syrup from never went past $5. This is ridiculous! What's worse is that it taste so watered down.. good thing I asked for syrup or else I would've been drinking water. very disappointed and regretting my purchase. read more

Cute place to work, okay drinks, bad wifi. Came here looking for a place to work, and was excited to see all the outlets around. However, I found it really hard to because the wifi was never consistent and made basic internet functions hard to use. I got a Matcha Latte which I enjoyed, but it tasted really powdery and was oddly thick. There are a lot of other people here so it makes sense that the bandwidth is being hogged. Maybe find another place to work if you need wifi. read more

If you're looking for something more low-key and casual, Monkey Nest is a nice option. I've been here a couple of times before and have never been disappointed. This time, ordered the potato, egg and cheese breakfast taco. Nothing revolutionary, but I have no complaints. There's an expansive menu for food and drinks, so that's nice if you're looking for something besides pastries. There's a great number of tables, although it can feel kind of tight. Came here Friday morning and the place was almost half full, but during peak times (think midterm/finals at UT) it can be hard to find a spot. There's a couple of areas towards the back that are more private, which I appreciate. Outlets seem far and few in between, but the WiFi is reliable and free. Parking is pretty good since there's a private lot that goes pretty far back along the building. Service is typically friendly and quick. Overall, Monkey Nest gets a thumb's up in my books. read more

UBER EATS REVIEW: We ordered the Monkey Nest Special Sandwich and the Bacon Apple Grilled Cheese - they were delicious! Warm, piping hot, and full of different flavors. Even better were the hours, and we were glad that this place was open 24 hours for a late night dinner. The value was really good also because we also enjoyed chips/salsa, a fruit cup, and a large chocolate chip cookie! Next time we're in town, we hope to visit the shop in person for the coffee. read more

I was in Austin for work since my company has an office there. I needed to get lunch but I couldn't leave my office so I decided to Uber Eats something. I looked up a bunch of places nearby and Monkey Nest seemed to be a pretty decent shop with simple sandwiches. Getting the food was pretty easy and quick (Thanks Uber). Unfortunately that's when my experience got worse. So I can't rate them on service and friendliness since I didn't go to the shop, so this review is for the food only. The ingredients they used were mediocre but it was a hearty sandwich. I ended up ordering the Green Goddess sandwich with chicken added. When I opened my bag I was pretty disgusted. There was burnt charcoal almost all over my sandwich. I wasn't even comfortable eating half of it but at this point I was starving. The food that I was comfortable eating was just ok. Won't order from here again in my future trips to Austin. read more

--- awful wifi!!! there isnt a single time i ever go here anymore in which the internet doesnt fail me. every other part of this place is great, but this is such an integral part of a coffee shop for me that it takes the review down many stars. I used to love this place, but it is definitely changing. It truly was such a gem I have done my best to frequent it for years, even though I don't live in Austin. I live quite a distance away and was so looking forward a Lavender Latte! Well, unfortunately even though they are open until 9pm, they shut down the espresso bar at least by 8;40pm. Truly a disappointment. For full disclosure, I was offered coffee instead of espresso, but I don't really see how that would have produced the same result. read more

Wow this coffee shop is quite nice!! I came in around 6 to get some work done and there was so much space + tables for that purpose! The ambience was quiet and focused, which is exactly what I needed! There are many tables, all of which you can move around for your own comfort as well as couches and countertop booths. There are also extra rooms in the back for more quiet studying!! As for the food & coffee there's so much to choose from, and it's not just desserts either! I love that for a long day of studying you don't have to just rely on sweets which is awesome. As for coffee, I got the the chocolate chimp latte which was a little too sweet but definitely hit the spot. I can't wait to come back and try other things! Tried this out after a barre class across the street on a Sunday morning. I was very pleased! I ordered a monkey muffin (basically monkey bread In ball/muffin form), spicy beef empanada, and a hot brown sugar latte. My favorite was the muffin, although the latte was amazing it took a little longer than necessary to get my order. The empanada was fine. They have plenty of seating and the service wasn't the fastest but super sweet, patient, and helpful with my order (I couldn't quite decide). Overall I definitely would recommend! read more

This place is always packed, but somehow I always find a spot to sit and sip on my favorite coffee, a large vanilla latte. Their cookies and other sweets are pretty awesome too and pair well with all their coffee offerings. Hint on the lay of the landscape within - if you want a quiet area, sit in a back room, louder is in the middle, the front is even-tempered sound-wise and best with headphones and outside you escape everything except the street noise. They're open 24/7, have great sandwiches, most of the folks that work there are really cool and laid back and it's a great place to be near people but still have your space if feeling a bit lonely. read more

Nice sitting area. The large tables are not accessible to outlets though so not super ideal for large groups. Also don't recommend ordering smoothies here. Mine was supposed to be vegan and tasted like milk. I also asked for almond milk as a base and they gave me their house vegan milk which is powdered vegan milk mixed with water. And the tacos were small. Also restrooms needs to be cleaned. Found a Pube on the toilet. read more

The coffee here is very inconsistent last time I got a French vanilla iced latte with oatmilk and it was so good and decided to try again and it was different taste I don't know if it was because of a different person making it and the consistency of the syrup wasn't the same but I feel like it should be consistent.
