Dr. Monetta rocks. However he should get rid of the older Asian receptionist. She's so rude.

The initial eye exam felt like an assembly line where I was passed from one person to the next, then ended with a salesman-type (they called him a counselor) who was basically a closer. I felt like I was buying a car! That said, everyone was very pleasant and they worked around my schedule to get my surgery done before I left the country. The surgery itself was super fast and painless (albeit a bit unnerving psychologically, but that part only lasted a few seconds). I got the SMILE surgery, a slightly less invasive technique than Lasik. There was a tiny bit of irritation after the numbness wore off, but the next morning I was fine, and within a few days my vision was quite clear. I only got one eye done, so one eye is near sighted and the other is now far sighted, and my brain stitches the images together so I feel like I have 20/20 vision. It's incredible! I need prescription readers now, though, so I can do my up-close stuff without my new far-sighted eye feeling wonky. It was expensive but overall I'm happy with the results. Would recommend. Bonus: As the surgeon got ready to perform the minute-long operation, he put on an 80s station and Sade's song Smooth Operator came on. I asked if he puts this song on each time he operates, but he said it was a coincidence.

The entire process felt smooth, professional, and reassuring. I especially want to highlight, Marleny Garcia at the San Ramon office, who was absolutely incredible. She took the time to thoroughly explain all of my options and walk me through the entire surgical process, which immediately put me at ease. I left our conversation feeling relieved, confident, and genuinely excited about the procedure. What really stood out was how personable and honest Marleny was. She shared her own vision journey and personal experience with eye surgeries, which made a huge difference for me. Hearing her story made it easy to trust her, and it was very clear that she truly cares about the patients who walk through the door. I had originally planned to consult with other doctors' offices before making a decision, but after meeting with Marleny, I felt completely confident that I had found the right place for my laser eye surgery. She played a major role in helping me feel comfortable moving forward. Thank you so much, Marleny, and thank you to the entire Scott Hyver Visioncare team for such an excellent experience!

I highly recommend giving this office a try.

I now have 20/10 vision (which means I can see at 20 feet what most people need to be 10 feet away to see)--something I didn't even realize was possible--and for the first time in 15 years, I no longer need to pack 4 different glasses (distance, readers, sun glasses with prescription, and without if I'm wearing contacts) to get through the day. But beyond the convenience, what surprised me most is how different I feel moving through the world. Without glasses constantly framing (and limiting) my vision, I feel more present, more connected, more capable of exercising, hiking, enjoying outdoors, even a whole decade younger. My peripheral vision is clear and unobstructed, and there's a kind of ease, immediacy and largeness to everyday life that I didn't anticipate but deeply appreciate. Dr. Faktorovich brings an exceptional level of expertise to her work. Her extensive experience as a refractive surgeon, combined with a strong research background, was evident from the very first consultation. She takes the time to explain the science behind the procedure, answers questions with clarity and care, and inspires a great deal of confidence. Every member of her staff were also incredibly professional, warm and caring. I felt safe and confident in every step of the process. If you're considering LASIK, you couldn't be in better hands.

What a journey with PRK, and I don't regret it one bit. It's true what they say: PRK is a marathon,…read morenot a sprint. The staff were professional and made me feel welcome from the start. My first appointment was a consultation, during which they explained everything thoroughly, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. I appreciated how carefully they examined my eyes. Unfortunately, I had a small scar on my cornea, so I wasn't a candidate for LASIK. Dr. Faktorovich highly recommended PRK instead. On the day of the procedure, I was given oral Ativan to help ease my anxiety about the procedure, and honestly, the whole thing probably took less than 10 minutes. I spent the rest of the day napping and applying eye drops. I definitely recommend staying home and avoiding anything strenuous for the first few days. The procedure itself wasn't too bad, but the post-recovery was a struggle. Post-op days 1 & 2 were the toughest. My eyes were watery, EXTREMELY sensitive to light, and it was uncomfortable. Felt like sandpaper on my eyes. But don't worry, they prescribe pain medication to help manage the discomfort. The pain eventually went away by the 5th day, and I was no longer taking anything for pain. Keep in mind that PRK recovery is significantly different from LASIK. For the first few weeks, my vision was fuzzy, and I definitely didn't feel comfortable driving. I also developed an astigmatism, which made my night vision worse initially. I was told it was completely normal and would eventually go away once my corneas were healed. I had to keep reminding myself that with PRK, the vision improvement is gradual, there's no overnight change. The healing process takes time. With PRK, I had more follow-up visits with their optometrist and a longer duration for using eye drops. The first few months were all about allowing my corneas to heal. I think around the 1.5 to 2-month mark, I finally noticed a difference. By that time, I was comfortable driving at night. Now, I'm about six months post-op with 20/15 vision. I couldn't be happier with my results! I used to have a vision of -6.50 to -7.00 and was completely dependent on glasses and contacts. Now, I wake up and can see clearly and that is life-changing! Thank you, Pacific Vision. If you're considering vision correction, book a consultation and see where it takes you. It might just be worth it.

The technician assessed my eyes through an array of lenses and enter her data in the computer, Dr. Kutzscher came into the room, exchange pleasantries and signed off on the RX without preforming an eye exam. The new RX had a huge change and I was concerned. I bought 2 pairs (clear/dark = $1,400) of glasses with Kutzscher's optician. It took 4 weeks to get the glasses and when I got them, I had a horrendous pain in the eye with the huge change on the RX and had a hard time reading/seeing. I called several times to speak with Dr. Kutzscher, he finally returned my call and said my eyes needed to adjust to the new lenses and agreed to see me three weeks later. Once more the technician assessed my eyes through some lenses and asked me to read some charts which I did with lots of errors but she said it didn't matter. Dr. Kutzscher walked in the room read her notes in the computer and said to keep using the glasses until my eyes adjusted to the change, without performing an eye exam or regard for the pain that I was suffering. I asked him to change the RX, he said there is nothing wrong with the RX, but how does he know if he never performed the eye exam. He should have honored their re-do policy as offered at the time of purchase if the glasses didn't work. The office staff and the optician are very rude, perhaps they believe if they intimidate the clients, they get paid and the problem goes away. Five months later, since the pain continued and I couldn't read or see I went back to my previous eye MD, a true gem, who stands by his work. The doctor performed a comprehensive eye exam and said the pain on my eye was due to the wrong prescription. He assessed my eyes and wrote a new RX. He said if there is any problem, he will re-do my glasses at "no cost". My new RX was a gift sent from heaven I was able to see and read without pain.
