Let me start off by saying I love Mom's Kitchen. Their omelettes and southern eggs Benedict are to die for. That being said, the last time I came here I was picking up an order and when I was paying there was a young man in the kitchen that kept staring at me. I think he was racist. I'm a Hispanic. I felt really uncomfortable. And I'm not the type to claim racism at all. I then saw the that young man talk to another chef and then they both were staring at me. This is a definite comfort food local staple. When you're in search of a good, hearty breakfast or traditional lunch fare, this is the place! There's usually a bit of a wait on the weekends, but both the food and service are worth it. The have excellent omelettes (I've had the Mediterranean and Mom's special - both great!). They use thick, country ham (vs. Canadian) on their Eggs Benedict which was actually delicious. The hash browns and home fries are hardy with just the right amount of crispiness! Today I broke away from the breakfast fray and ordered a Turkey Rueben - holy moly it was good and the fries were just right. The only thing it was lacking was coleslaw...that would have been the perfect accompaniment. If you're looking for really good no-nonsense food, this is the place. I've missed this place. You can't go wrong with home cooking. It can get tight since it's a small place with a friendly staff that love their customers to death. While I prefer to have breakfast there, the chef salad I had for lunch the other day was good. I am hard pressed to find good quality BREAKFAST at any chain restaurant. I will usually wait it out at John G's. I know I will get the best food quality there. BUT....I DIGRESS, I had my first BREAKFAST at Mom's kitchen and was totally blown away!! I was not expecting, thick, juicy, smoky bacon, cooked to perfection. High quality eggs with big bright yellow yolks, real butter on my toast and fresh squeezed orange juice. I mean, who does that anymore? It truly is like eating at Mom's. Don't waste your time and $ on these fast food, cookie cutter recipe places. The atmosphere is tight and friendly. You can't be shy or clostraphobic to eat inside. I heard rave reviews of this place. My father had a meatloaf dinner that was undistinguished, my mother's Reuben was huge and she said it was good. My Philly steak sandwich came without the requested pickles and I was half finished with my meal before I got them. we all ordered sides of french fries which were lukewarm and anything but crisp. Not sure where to eat I stumbled upon this place. Was hungry and somewhat desperate. Pulling up I thought huh. Mmmm. How bad could it be. Upon walking in the door my first vision was a big fat roach on the floor. Automatically thinking I should leave. If the roaches are in the dining area then they are also in the kitchen area. Second impression the decor is old dark out dated and dirty. I get it's a old place but being nostalgic and old greedy dirty is two different things. Reminds me of an old North Carolina southern diner with pine paneling everywhere. The service is great food comes out quick and the waitresses chat with the regulars. Lots to choose from on the menu. I've been stopping by this local favorite for at least a decade. Usually the food and service is great, otherwise I wouldn't keep returning for more. Today I looked forward to their open faced roast beef plate with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. When I arrived I was immediately told I had to sit at the counter if I was dining alone. That's understandable since they are always busy and such a tiny restaurant. My server came by a few minutes later and shoved a napkin and silverware in front of me. "Want a drink?" , she asked. I ordered water and chose the roast beef plate mentioned earlier. A few minutes later I was staying at a plate that looked good but when I tried to cut the broccoli, I found it very under cooked and lukewarm No biggie. Then I tried the mashed potatoes, also lukewarm. I drizzled gravy over the roast beef and found that was straight up cold. I tried to get my servers attention at least 5 times but couldn't get her to look at me. Since it wasn't getting any warmer I dug in and ate basically cold food. It was okay but not very good. My server never came back to check or give me my bill. I went to the cashier and told her my lunch was not very good as it usually is. She said sorry about that and held her hand out for payment. I told her I didn't have my bill so she flagged down my server who came to give my check to the cashier and still did not inquire about the quality of my meal. My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed our visit to Mom's Kitchen..The ambiance is quaint-like lounging in someone's living room. Our server, Jessica was friendly and made great meal suggestions. I ordered the Chicken Francaise which was tangy and succulent. My meal was prepared better than at an Italian restaurant! My boyfriend chose comfort food fare and had fall off the bone potroast which was both tender and juicy. To end on a sweet note he offered a creamy and sweet chocolate cream pie and I had the decadent Italian cheesecake-both were economical and to die for! We can't wait to go back! read more

Mom's is my favorite diner in south florida and has become a staple for me every saturday for many reasons. The staff is incredible, always friendly and attentive even during rushes. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to order or receive my food. They go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your experience. Along with the staff the atmosphere is very comforting. Simply furnished with wooden tables, chairs and typical stools you'd find at a diner. They have music playing from an old radio that really fits with the environment and adds a little background sound without being overwhelming. Ofcourse the food is the focus here, not only do they serve you quickly but I've never had a meal cooked incorrectly. My favorite is the NY strip stake with eggs over easy. An easy meal but also extremely easy to over or under cook. All the meals are very large and reasonably priced, you really get the best for your money. read more

My mate has been going to this location since he was a boy with his twin brother. He showed me this place and I've never found anything like it before. This has to be a local favorite! You get such great huge portions of food for a great price with such a family orientated friendly fun staff. I could eat moms kitchen every morning for breakfast and love my life. Their home fries are to die for. And let me tell ya. I'm a picky one about my home fries and every time I go here they are cooked perfectly! And guess what the best part is. Let's say you're a vampire like myself and enjoy sleeping in later then most and still have the taste for breakfast, you can come to this place and they will still treat you like it's 7am all over again.
