A great little local dive for a classic no-bs breakfast. Love the old school advertising placemats!! The hashbrowns (shredded, of course as there's no other way) are top-notch and the whole breakfast is a greasy spoon kind of good. You'll want to add a little S&P, but that's an easy fix! We had a good lunch here last week. We were downtown and decided to stop by. We'd been to this location when it was a previous restaurant. Since then, it has been a bit refreshed. The menu is similar, but it feels a bit more updated. The restaurant reminds me of an old-fashioned luncheonette or diner. It is very casual. They obviously have their regulars of those who work and live nearby. And for lunch, you can also get breakfast. We sat at the counter as there were open seats there. We had good service. I got a chicken salad sandwich with lettuce on white toast. It came with chips and coleslaw. My sandwich was decent. My husband got one of the blackboard specials -- hot sausage along with two eggs, grits, and toast. You could choose home fries over grits if you preferred. He said it was good. Like I said, it's not fancy. But if you're looking for some regular American food at a reasonable price with no frills, then this is for you. read more

What a great little place. We tried this on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner waited on us and was the kindest gentleman we've ever had the pleasure to meet! He was very kind and friendly. The food was so fresh. There were six of us and we got things from pancakes to omelette. Everyone enjoyed everything. There wasn't one negative comment made about the food The only thing that was a bit off putting was the temperature inside was warm and it was a bit small. I work on the same block so this diner is a regular lunch spot. Always greeted with smiles from the pleasant staff or owner upon arrival. It's open seating so you're free to sit at a table, booth or counter. I love that breakfast is available all day so I can get my choice of bacon well done, eggs over medium, crispy hash browns, fluffy pancakes, sausage and well seasoned home fries fix at noon. The chicken fingers are perfectly breaded and pair well with honey mustard. When trying to stay on the healthy side the trio salad comes with a scoop of tuna, egg & chicken salad. The food was really good the one time I dined in then today I placed an order to go for pick up. The girl on the phone had the worst tone and attitude, & for no reason because I know I was being very kind. She answered the phone while laughing and says "over easy" and that's it. No thanks for calling or even a hi or hello. So I just proceeded with asking to place a pick up order. Very simple. A cheese burger. She said okay anything else? Didn't ask side, temp, or cheese. I'm in the service industry and I'm a person who's ordered togo before so I naturally filled in the blanks when she didn't ask. Then I asked for a kids mac as well. When I tell you, in the most condescending tone "maccc???" I said, yes..Mac and cheese? She goes "this is overrr easssyyyy???" As if a diner having mac & cheese is unheard of. Also, mind you it's on their website listed under the kids menu items. So I said oh I know who I'm calling.. I saw it online on the menu. Then she said oh maybe it's old but we don't have that. She continued to just have a bad attitude and I'm sorry but in the service industry, if someone is being kind to you, be kind back. It's your job. and if you're having that bad of a day then maybe go home or don't go in to work. Because you sounded like you were keke'ing with your coworkers but could show no customer service skills on the phone.. I could understand if I was being a total B word but that's not the case..Unfortunate interaction that totally turned me off from even going on with placing the order but I did. Shortly after debating with myself a a bit I decided not to go get my food. (If it were anything more then just a plain cheese burger I would've canceled) I know myself and if I would've gotten that treatment again in person, she wouldn't have liked the response. Well, this has become our new "go to place". The owners have really done an exceptional job with their menu, quality of food and service. My wife, who loves breakfast, had the Northerner and I had the best hamburger I have had in a long, long time. Perfectly cooked, with fresh lettuce, tomato and onion, with a little side of outstanding cole slaw. If you have not tried Over EZ's Cafe, you have missed the best breakfast and lunch in the area. Sadly, can't recommend this breakfast place. The food was cold after waiting 30 minutes for basic breakfast food omelettes, eggs, pancakes and just not flavorful. Very extra too so gets a bit pricy ($57 for 3 ppl) for what you get. There is no ambiance but that's not important to us but good warm food served in a reasonable amount, price and time is. It's not bad just not good enough for the price plus you get a choice of 20% 25% 30% tip. Deserved 15% for super slow service but maybe the kitchen is at fault there. The turnover should be way quicker if they want to make more money. Back to John G where food is better quicker and about the same price. read more

We are locals and the entire staff is amazing. Our food is always served hot and delicious. The bacon is the best I have ever tasted. The French Toast and Belgium Waffle is perfection. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has a cozy, perfect diner feel and we are never disappointed. If it's busy, we will wait patiently because we know that it's so worth the wait. We have sat inside at booths and at the counter and we may sit outside next time. Just remember, when you are good, EVERYONE wants you! Everything was awesome! The food came quick and i hear/saw all the employees laughing and smiling which gave off a good workplace environment. Everyone was very nice, i had the Biscuit and Gravy which was delicious. The owner came out and said hello and asked how our meal was.
