We wanted to find something near downtown Lake Worth and what a wonderful find. This is a place that made me think about a home town feel where everyone knows your name. Quality food, good price, fast and kind service. Servers provided feedback on the menu. Clean inside and out, family owned. I would definitely go again. On North J street.

A great little local dive for a classic no-bs breakfast. Love the old school advertising placemats!! The hashbrowns (shredded, of course as there's no other way) are top-notch and the whole breakfast is a greasy spoon kind of good. You'll want to add a little S&P, but that's an easy fix! The staff is wonderful, and the place has a great homey vibe. We love this spot!

We had a good lunch here last week. We were downtown and decided to stop by. We'd been to this location when it was a previous restaurant. Since then, it has been a bit refreshed. The menu is similar, but it feels a bit more updated. The restaurant reminds me of an old-fashioned luncheonette or diner. It is very casual. They obviously have their regulars of those who work and live nearby. And for lunch, you can also get breakfast. We sat at the counter as there were open seats there. We had good service. I got a chicken salad sandwich with lettuce on white toast. It came with chips and coleslaw. My sandwich was decent. My husband got one of the blackboard specials -- hot sausage along with two eggs, grits, and toast. You could choose home fries over grits if you preferred. He said it was good. Like I said, it's not fancy. But if you're looking for some regular American food at a reasonable price with no frills, then this is for you.

A great old school breakfast place with lots of retiree flair! The pancakes, eggs and griddled hash on the side were great!

I work on the same block so this diner is a regular lunch spot. Always greeted with smiles from the pleasant staff or owner upon arrival. It's open seating so you're free to sit at a table, booth or counter. I love that breakfast is available all day so I can get my choice of bacon well done, eggs over medium, crispy hash browns, fluffy pancakes, sausage and well seasoned home fries fix at noon. The chicken fingers are perfectly breaded and pair well with honey mustard. When trying to stay on the healthy side the trio salad comes with a scoop of tuna, egg & chicken salad. The cheese burgers or patty melt are delicious as well. Until next time...

I had a quick breakfast here this morning egg whites, hashbrowns, and toast. Everyone in there seem to be a local and the staff was extremely polite. It's bright and cheery. A perfect beginning to my day.

Great, classic coffee shop. Clean, airy. Surprisingly fine coffee (I'm a coffee snob). Unbelievable value for money in 2024. Welcoming staff. Sound level perfect. Such a lovely throwback!

Lovely hardworking family. Not a lot of signage and the door opens to the kitchen which gets you into a speakeasy. Was greeted by the owners and the local patrons from the assisted living residents. This was a first for us. We got pecan short cake (delish, but sweet), chicken fried. As would be expected with a condo, there is very little guest parking - maybe 9 spaces- and they were all full. Thus, I parked on the street behind the condo. There is lots of free street parking all over this area, which is mostly residential. There is some construction being done on the front and side of the building, so the entrance is a little hard to find. It is on the West side of the building, and it doesn't look like the entrance to a restaurant AT ALL! Just a side door propped open with a large, wooden, hand-painted sign next to it announcing the Cafe. I walked into the door and accidentally turned into the kitchen. The cook greeted me warmly and redirected me down the other hallway. I loved this place already! The Cafe looks like an old Southern diner, in a very not-decorated-by-a-designer way, which felt very homey to me. Two diners greeted us when we came in, we sat ourselves at a booth table, and eventually our wonderfully eclectic and kind storytelling waitress brought us menus. The menus are lovingly written in a colloquial, storytelling style that is fun and warm to read. Otherwise, the peeling laminate menus are wonderfully non designed also, and again, I love this! The board of daily specials was special with cornbread french toast amongst the items. I loved seeing more than one regular menu item I have never seen anywhere else (grits inside an egg wrap. My friend chose a breakfast quesadilla. I chose to make my own meal by ordering a slice of (heavily touted on the menu) banana bread, hashbrown casserole, and grits with cheese. I loved every bite! The hashbrown casserole was giant, and crisped all over the outside, so cutting it open was a treat- delicious. The banana bread was light, moist, and also delicious. The grits with cheese were nothing different or special, which was exactly as I expected. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this quirky hidden cafe! Shoot! I am already craving hashbrown casserole and banana bread again...
