I absolutely love authentic dive bars that serve good food. I like the people I meet, the "regulars" that they attract and the overall vibe. I say this often, quite tung-in-cheek, my minimum threshold for these joints is actual paper towels in the washrooms! This place checked all of the boxes on typical decor, many pool tables, excellent dart boards and people eating the food; always good sign. I even like the idiosyncrasies of the place ( they misspelled burgers (BURGUERS) on their website. NEVER CHANGE IT! The bartender was great, remembered everyone's names and very attentive. The food was good, I ordered their signature roast beef sandwich at the recommendation of the bartender and she was spot-on; it was very good! They have a bunch of new pool tables to use and they do have a league that plays there but usually after 9, it's on and popping. I came with my boyfriend one late evening for the first time. We were looking to have a drink and bite to hit before heading home. The place is very large with about 10 or so pool tables and several dart boards. We sat at the bar and was greeted by a very friendly bartender. My boyfriend was very excited that they had his favorite IPA on tap. We ordered some wings that were very flavorful and onion rings. More like a 3 1/2 for the food. Plus, we had good service from the bartender as we sat at the bar for our lunch. Even though there weren't many people inside, the music was blaring. We didn't need much conversation, so it wasn't too bad. And at least the selections weren't too hokey. The main room is huge! They have a dozen pool tables -- only one of which was occupied/active when we were there. It's a bit deceptive from the outside as we thought it would be much smaller. And the bar, too, is quite long. They had some lunch specials, so we ordered from that section of the menu. All specials come with soup or salad and one side. He got the cheeseburger sliders (which would have been my choice) and fries for his side. He chose salad. The sliders were very good. I got the chicken tenders for my lunch. I didn't feel like either soup or salad, so I didn't get them. And I swapped out my fries for tater tots. The portion was really large. I wound up taking three of the tenders home for a later meal. With the tenders, you get your choice of dipping sauce. I chose honey mustard which was more mustardy than sweet -- my only minor comment. I'm sure we will be back. (Next time, I'm getting the sliders.) The lunch specials are quite reasonably priced along with large portions and a casual, no-frills atmosphere. read more

Stopped in Sunday night after some golf and ordered the famous beef sandwich with sweet potato fries. Finally I found a place that serves the sweet potato fries with that delicious marshmallow dipping sauce, it is amazing and I will return just for that alone. The beef sandwich was great nice roll with a generous portion of beef. Also had a side Caesar salad the dressing was perfect and had large slices of fresh parm. Great place to stop in for food and drinks. I am. It a big pool player but they have several tables and looks like a lot of fun. read more

this place is fun! don't expect it to be poppin on a sunday night, but i love how spacious it is. didn't even know where to sit at first with so many open tables and a large bar area. and i was relieved that it didn't smell of smoke like some other bars do. i was pleasantly surprised by the food -- everything we ordered was better than expected. the roast beef was flavorful and not dry, the fried fish from the fish and chips was so fresh, and the chicken wings really hit the spot. the onion rings were just the right amount of crispy as well. i was happy. and our bartender/server (nancy?) was the best. there are plenty of pool tables to claim and play while you're having a beer (lots of options on tap). they are operated by quarters and cost $1.50 a game, so bring your coins or some cash to exchange. overall a great casual place to hang and enjoy some decent food and drinks. read more

I didn't know what to expect based on the outside, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge establishment with lots of entertainment and great, affordable service. I went there for Sunday football and enjoyed really good drinks and some pool. I am looking forward to checking this place out on a Friday night because I've heard really good things from locals. Looking for a place to shoot pool, grab a cold one and good bar food, then this is the place. They have plenty of pool tables, and league night, if you are interested in joining a league. Stopped in with a buddy, last week, both of us ordered the famous roast beef with the dip. Megan our bartender was great. The sandwiches were very good, but should be cut in half, for proper dipping size . I got the potato salad as a side, delicious. We also ordered 10 wings, which were very good. True hidden gem! On a mission to find a hot beef sandwich my search lead me to Beef and Ale. What I was expecting was a small pub, what I found is a hidden gem and new hangout spot. From the outside the place didn't look like much. It was tucked away in the corner of a shopping center and very easy to miss. Inside was a huge pool hall with flat screens and projector screens everywhere. Everything looked super clean and brand new. We took a seat at the bar and ordered our hot beef from a very friendly bartender. Beef was absolutely delicious! Placed an order for pickup last night, I ordered Buffalo chicken tenders that are $8.50 on the menu. I also asked for fries. When I picked it up it was $16 dollars. So you charged me $8 for a side of fries? Really? You charged me the same amount for a side item as you did for the appetizer/entree. Not only was I ripped off money-wise, the food was gross. The Buffalo chicken was nasty and the entire large styrofoam to-go container of $8 fries that I got were soggy and disgusting. Also, the bartender had an attitude. Visited the bar on Monday April 22. Beautiful place and I would have given this a 4 or 5 star if the first bartender hadn't been replaced. She was excellent!... Nice young lady with glasses and a degree in architecture. Unfortunately, my friend and myself were there longer than her shift and ran into what I can only believe was a demon from hell. I don't know her name, but she wore too much make-up and looked a bit goth... not a happy camper. Must be the daughter of the owner. Without a doubt the rudest bartender I have come into contact with. I will not go into relating the exact conversation, but after several rude interactions between she and all customers, it was our turn. When my friend asked where he could get change, she snidely replied "there's a gas station down the street." WOW!?... I will visit the bar again, unless she is working there. read more
