We had a surprisingly good experience here for dinner. We'd driven by this place many times and dined nearby at another restaurant but never tried it. Then a couple weeks ago we were talking to some locals who were raving about the "new" owners and their menu specials. We decided to stop by and see for ourselves. The restaurant has ample parking in the huge lot that it shares with the nearby stores and other restaurants. They have outside seating (the night we came by there were heat lamps between the tables) and inside booths and tables. The restaurant was much larger inside than we'd anticipated. We first seated ourselves at a booth, but as we sat for a bit without anyone coming over, we moved to seats at the large bar. We had very good service at the bar. The menu is large. We browsed the daily specials but wound up ordering off the regular menu. However, my husband did take advantage of a $4.25 Tito's happy hour drink special. My husband got their mom's homemade meatloaf dinner. The portion was huge and came with mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli, and Texas toast. He said it was excellent. And he wound up taking most of his meatloaf home. I ordered their fish fry. A very large piece of lightly battered fried haddock fish came with coleslaw. Instead of the usual fries, I upgraded for a dollar to a baked potato with butter and sour cream. The fish was flaky and very good. And I liked the slightly sweet coleslaw, as well. I also took half my meal home. The other diners at the bar were friendly and welcoming. The place was packed by the time we left. We signed up for their loyalty program (its a QR code on the back of the menu) and for doing so got a free dessert. We shared a slice of very (authentic) key lime pie with whipped cream. Well it has been about 2 years since we had been here because of bad service and bad food. I am happy to say things have changed! The food was great, prepared as we ordered and brought to us hot! There is outdoor seating and a bar and even a small arcade area for the kids. That being said, the service is sloooooooow! At least it was the night we came. Visited this restaurant Thursday and Saturday this week. Both days the food was very good and the service even better. Not good at getting names, but the blonde haired lady who waited on us on Thursday was outstanding. She was working outside and inside; always a smile and always checking to see that everything was satisfactory! Saturday our server, lily, was pleasant and efficient as were the young man and young lady who brought our three meals to the table. Came here and ordered fried fish and chips and ordered some drinks. The food is pretty good here. The fish is very flavorful and flaky and crispy. Drinks were served quickly however, the overall service is slow and in attentive. If you're looking for service, I would recommend coming here, but the food is pretty decent. We had 8 this evening and we all ordered different dishes. I went with the Bama burger, came on a Kaiser roll with cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce cooked just right Med Rare. fries ok but the sweet potato fries where great! friend had a salad with fried chicken nuggets, nice size and filling. We recently had dinner twice at AJ's. It's dog friendly. They bring out water for them, and we were able to order chicken for our doggie at a very reasonable price. The servers have been very friendly and accommodating. They have daily dinner deals and $3 margaritas on Tuesdays. Their chocolate vanilla martini is delicious. We ordered the sampler platter: the chicken wings were tasteless, the mozzarella sticks were hard, the other items were not pleasant either. Also ordered clam chowder which was not good at all. She didn't know if you had coke or Pepsi, or what sides came with any of the entrees, or what toppings were on the side salad. 3/5 of the entrees were over cooked, and gross. Amazing food, and a classic Americanize style sports bar. The service was great but they often disappear for more than 15-25 minutes. Which is very understandable I've gone multiple times during major sporting events so that is very justifiable, just make sure to get enough beverages and food before main event starts. This place was very weird. The server was a little flaky and not completely all there. I believe that this restaurant considers itself a sports bar; however, we ate there on a Saturday afternoon. They had the Romance Channel on at least one of their tv's. Really? They also didn't have any NCAA March Madness games on. They were showing International Hockey, a BMX show and a few other odd program choices. The server took our order and brought out our drinks. She disappeared several times throughout our lunch and I literally caught her just hanging out at the bar (with other employees) when our drinks needed to be refilled. The food was average and the portion sizes were on the small side. I don't know if I would go back here because it was just plain odd. There were one or two servers who seemed to care about their customers and the other ones were just there to talk to their coworkers. I had to ask several times to change the channel to the NCAA tournament. She finally got the remote and changed it to an NBA game. Come on! Are you really that out of it? I came with a friend for the lobster special... $16.99 on Thursday nights for a 1 1/4 lb Maine. My first visit .. also Trivia night. It was a great sports bar for this area and many people were into the trivia. We were invited to play which was nice, but declined. We were seated immediately. We had a booth and noticed a large bar which was crowded and noisy. Most of the booths were also occupied so they had a nice full house. Our young server was pleasant but rushed. We ordered drinks and our lobster dinners which came out quickly. We asked to have them split and they did with no problem. They are only served boiled and come with coleslaw and your choice of another side. We chose a baked potato with sour cream of course :-). My lobster was small but delicious. My friends was a bit larger and she thoroughly enjoyed. We had room left for dessert so together decided on the banana split . It was very good for the price.. under $5 and topped off our meal. I saw a few other dishes come out and everything looked pretty good. If you like sport bars I would say this is a good choice. I've been here twice now and it's a decent spot for sports watching for sure! TVs are everywhere showing multiple sports/channels. So even when it's packed on a game day, wherever you end up sitting/standing/cheering you're more than likely to have a view of what you're there to see. Wait staff that I've experienced thus far is accomodating, although on game day, as expected, you gotta be a little more patient or adamant about getting their attention. Today we were waited on promptly and he told us about the food and drink specials as soon as he geeeted us. It was also happy hour while we were there which meant 40% off beers(or maybe drinks in general). He then explained that they had new menus and offerings, including new wing flavors, wraps, and mahi mahi as added choices now. Food is good, nothing out of this world or craveworthy that I've experienced thus far, but nothing bad either. Just about everything about my experience was mediocre. Other than the friendly hostess and a random waiter whom checked in on me despite not being my server, the service was not great. The place was busy so maybe that was the reason but it took more than 15 minutes before my server came by and even longer for the food to come out. My beer was the only thing delivered relatively quickly... the only issue was it was slammed on my table drive by style. I ordered a cheesesteak but I wasn't too thrilled. The bread was soggy, the steak was flavorless and some of the fries were stale. The confinements at the table became my best friends.
