I came back to Mel's for a Sunday morning brunch with 200 others. There was a lot of free parking spaces in front. The event space was nicely decorated and the restrooms were stocked. Coffee & tea service was efficient. The bruschetta on the table was delicious. There was a bread station with croissants, bagels, muffins, and danish. The buffet lines moved along nicely with two stations and lots of servers. The hot foods were hot and everything was done nicely. Drinks were replenished and tables were cleared quickly. What a beautiful room! The table settings were white, gold and silver. Getting us ready for the spirit of the upcoming New Year. Went for a community event brunch. The buffet had fried shrimp, meatballs, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage and ingredients for a healthy salad. There was a bagel bar with cream cheese, butter, lox w/capers and some mini danish and muffins. The wait staff made their rounds with coffee, tea and other beverages. We were a group of 9 friends together for a reunion with dinner and dancing to the live band - the Paragons- showcasing their music of the 40's and 50's. This band has appeared here multiple times. This is the 3rd time for us. Amanda was our waitress who came by multiple times for drink and dinner orders. They had 3 different menus with daily specials and regular dinner menus. The food is just ok. I wouldn't write home about it but it's a fun night and a great place to gather to dance or people watch because the sequins and glitz is dazzling. My wife and I went to Mel's on a Tuesday night , with my mother, sister and her boyfriend. Tuesday , also happens to be Karaoke night. They have a special prime rib entree with 2 sides for $27. I asked for the end cut, which they had. It was very good. I , of course entertained the crowd with Sinatra and Dean Martin. Overall , everyone's dinner was good. Dinner, with a couple of cocktails , and beers was very reasonable. We enjoyed the Karaoke, It was fun. Mel's also has specials during the week, and live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night. So bring your dancing shoes and enjoy the live shows on the weekends. read more

The room was set up beautifully, food was delicious, service was perfect, and price was affordable! Melyn and Melanie were very easy to work with. We've been here for lunch numerous times. I can only say great things about Mel's. The sweet potato fries...oh my...they are scrumptious! Lunch specials are very reasonable. Pick two...half sandwich, salad or soup of day for only $7.00. I have been part of four parties in the banquet room. They do a great job. In the evenings, they have dinner specials and live music. What a problematic place! Clearly there's no active management. We have gone twice with other couples and had the unfortunate experience of being served by Amanda both times. She has a sour expression, a worse attitude and provides horrific service. Example: we brought a couple who had never been there who were celebrating an anniversary. Thinking we wouldn't have terrible service twice, and having enjoyed the music we were happy to give the place a second chance. Instead she never served an appetizer that they ordered and skipped to serving the main course. When told she forgot the appetizer there was no apology. Similarly the gentleman asked about a particular cocktail and specifically told her "not too sweet". Guess what, that was a fruitless request so he had to order a second drink. No apologies nor any consideration. The only quality service came from the bus staff who said they always hear complaints about our server. My advice is to stay away. Even though the entertainment makes the place a good idea for an evening out. Not worth the aggravation. My friends went home hungry and surely won't return either. read more

Luncheon salad plate with tuna, chicken, and potato salad scoops served with warm pita wedges is awesome. For refills on drinks, etc. brought my salad without the shrimp and took a long time to finally bring it. Wanted to actually take my salad away from me back into the kitchen so she could put shrimp on it. I would have been there a half an hour with nothing to eat. Waitresses talking and not paying attention. I had to get up several times to ask various other waitresses for things because couldn't find ours. Needed more dressing which I was never able to get. May 2022, came here Monday night for Happy Hour Dinner and Karaoke. The service was good, and prices even better since they have daily specials. Everyday they have a special event menu. Came here with friends and we all had a great time. I Ordered the Prime Rib (Med.Rare) Special of the week with two sides that tasted pretty good with a glass of House wine. The restaurant was not packed the day we went. There is plenty of outdoor parking available, so you don't have to worry about parking. A group of neighbors and I go out every Tuesday and we go to Mels Way Bistro once in a while. We like going Tuesday's because their Prime Rib special is wonderful (we actually go for just that). Their food is great but we don't go as often as we would like to because Tuesday's is karaoke night and although we all enjoy that type of entertainment the music is just too loud that you can not enjoy a conversation with your company. I went once with my mother who has difficulty hearing and she said it was too loud. It's just almost impossible to talk with your company. I wish Mels Way Bistro would read this and hopefully make adjustments and play the music a little lower so their patrons can enjoy their dinner. But do give it a try the food is great especially the Prime Rib. read more

It was love at first bite! Fairly new snowbirds who are lucky to have this establishment on our premises. We enjoy the food, the ambience, the music and particularly the staff. Amanda was our first waitress...and we have requested her ever since. We've actually created an "Amanda fan club" as all of the guests we have invited over the last two years, only ask for her. Last night we went to this place with another couple for dinner and dancing.First let me say it was a lot of fun, with no regrets. its a pretty place which makes dining better but lets get to the food first. I had the sea food soup with fish and a lot of other stuff and it was "good" then I had the seafood stew over spaghetti because I really don't eat linguini. It had shrimp and calamari and clams and a red sauce that was very good.my wife had lemon chicken and she liked it and took some home,(which she just had for breakfast,LOL) The service was better then I expected because our server Melyn was very good.the bar bill was reasonable for a country club and the drinks were good also. Mel's Way, it seems to Me, has lost its Way. A recent Visit was to see a "Doo Wop" Group that a friend who took us spoke highly of. While the Singers were really good, nothing else was. Food was edible, Waitresses rushed Us, as if someone was waiting for our Table at 9:30, and when asked if I was still "working on my Dish", and I said I was, she removed it from the Table. Really. Ownership is fantastic. Mayleen and Mel always have a smile. The wait staff are excellent and Angie is just the best. It feels like I am in Cheers whenever I am at Mels. Everybody knows my name. Very accomodating. I have had virtually everything on the menu and have enjoyed everything. The Lamb Chops are to die for and all the Italian dishes are authentic and tasty.
