We went to Dune Deck's Mimosa Cafe on a Sunday afternoon (after noon) and it was busy! We went for a birthday lunch for Phyllis whose birthday was a couple of days prior. I was hoping that this was a sign that the food was good. We had an approximately 15 minute wait for 4 adults. I ordered the Mediterranean Avocado Toast which was a special on this day. It was very good. It came with eggs, cooked to order, and a cup of fruit. It was all good. I would not hesitate to return here again in the future. It is a perfectly fine option if one chooses wisely. Lovely ambiance. When you walk in, observe what people have ordered and decide. The vegetables sandwich that I ordered had so much oil but fortunately the bread soaked up some of it, so I just discarded the bread. My wife's salad with fish was very good. Also, the fruit served with my sandwich? Just perfectly ripe and enjoyable. One of the things that cracked me up here, being a laid back Texas boy, was over hearing all the incessant, noisy, nasal New York Jewish ladies whining, commiserating and ruminating with each other at the other tables. That was entertaining. I had thought about asking about the homemade desserts but the staff was slammed I guess cause no one came around to check on how things were going and if we needed anything else. Just as well. My friend got the savory crêpes which was ham eggs and cheese, and did the up charge for the cheesy hashbrowns instead of the hashbrowns that it came with also came with fruit. Place was pretty packed for a Saturday Brunch. We were welcomes and treated with kindness and seated right away. In speaking with our server, we found out that this is a local, family owned and run business, in fact, our server's brother was helping expedite with mom not far behind, keeping an eye on things. The home fries were spectacularly seasoned and the rest is history. This was a lot of food and more than enough for one. It was delicious! I was having a bit of a sweet tooth and had previewed the menu before getting there. I was determined and excited about the Creme Brule French Toast. By oh boy, this did not dissappoint. This is my second visit here but for some reason I never wrote a review and kind of glad I hadn't because we had the most amazing waiter everrr, Mr. Thiago, was attentive, made suggestions, frequently checked on us, promptly check us out and sent us on our way! We discovered this restaurant when driving back from South Florida to Jacksonville following a cruise a few years ago. We thought it was really good. We remembered it when we found ourselves in the same situation this past week. Unfortunately, it was not as good as we remembered. The server was really nice and efficient but the food was not great. I had a few Bellinis and had to add ice as they were warm. Strange imo. I had the blueberry pancakes which are a huge portion but they were so dense and dry. The hash brown casserole sounded good but I don't eat meat and it tasted like it was cooked on a surface with meat juice. I also hate onions and it was topped with scallions. No mention of that on the menu. The cheese grits were decent but not great. Hubby had the breakfast platter with eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and toast. His eggs were overcooked and the potatoes were overcooked and cold. They offer breakfast and lunch and have daily specials. Maybe it was an off day, but they are about 5 miles off the interstate so I doubt we will visit again when cruising down that way. read more

We went here for lunch as a group of 7 ladies after playing in a nearby tennis tournament. We sat outside (since we were sweaty) and put two tables together. The weather was nice- maybe in the 80's, but with a lot of cloud coverage. The tables have umbrellas over them. I ordered the berry chicken salad ($20). My friend ordered the tuna salad platter, my other friend ordered a Caprese sandwich, another orders the fried chicken and waffle, another the gyro, another the veggie omelet and another ordered the steak. Everyone's food was delicious! The potions are pretty big! The Caprese sandwich was huge! My friend couldn't finish it. My salad was also very big, but I just ate the good stuff (the chicken and berries). The dressing came on the side. There were strawberries (fresh), raspberries (fresh), and blackberries (not fresh). I enjoyed the salad though. Everyone enjoyed their food. A few of us got a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. We were able to get separate checks. Mine was only $21 before tip because I only drank water. The prices are very reasonable. We did have to wait a while for the check to come, so I went to ask for it. But it was Sunday brunch. Last Tuesday morning I had a Dr's appointment in Delray Beach. We left really early with Freckles because our dog sitter was sick. After the appointment we picked up my sister-in-law and went out for breakfast. She took us to Dune Deck's Mimosa Cafe because there was outside seating and we could bring Freckles. We all had delicious Omelets that were so large and came with potatoes and a bagel. I always say I should share or take home half. Each one had two really big slices of cantaloupe and honeydew. I'll start off by saying the atmosphere is great, it feels very fancy walking in. Our server was also amazing and very friendly and there was no delay in getting us coffee refills as soon as finished our cup. However that's where the positives end. The food was mediocre at best. The bagel I had was made about a week ago because it was rock hard. Nothing was particularly good, but it was about the same as I can make at home without much effort. Yesterday, on Friday, I had breakfast there and it was edible but that's it. I ordered the egg, cheese and bacon on a croissant. The croissant was very soggy, so that I had to cut the sandwich with a knife rather than holding it in my hands. The bacon was ok. Had to try to chase somebody down to get some water then refills of coffee and wound up having to get an iced tea to go because they never came to the table. We had lunch here this afternoon among the lunch crowd. We were seated right away by the back wall service area. After about 10 minutes, our server took our orders and returned with water glasses. We both ordered the Tuna salad platter, trying to be good with our diet. Another 15 minutes and our food was delivered by a food runner. The Tuna was rather dry and after several tries, my wife flagged down our server to request some mayonnaise to add to the tuna to make it more palatable. My wife's tomato was under ripe and she to pick off the ends of some of the veggies that had gone brown, the server was nowhere in sight. When the server finally stopped by and my wife pointed the spoiled ends and the hard underripe tomato, she apologized and promptly delivered the check. We have had better food and service on previous visits. The other restaurants in the area will probably be more inviting when we are back in the shopping complex. read more

Coconut shrimp a favorite of my mom a disciminating eater. Fish and chips, generous portion with all the trimmings. Tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Yellow rice as well. Its not what you think. There yellow rice is flavorful and delicious. Blueberry pancakes. The most generous portion of Bluberries that you have ever seen. And I mean EVER! There Coffee is great! So much food came out at once that professional waiter Kevin offered to keep the Fish and Chips under light! Extreme attention to the details. Zack helped out with details on the meal. He also helps capture our moments on camera when we are with family and friends. Everything is great here! This Friday on Halloween many of us will be dressed up. This time I saw their Shrimp & Grits so gave it a try since I love that dish. While it wasn't bad, I honestly wasn't a fan since I prefer a more gravy and savory/flavorful taste.
