Menu at the Green Owl Restaurant, Delray Beach

CASH ONLY! After coffee on the beach and then a cortado at Deke's around the corner, it was time for a proper breakfast. I stopped at Green Owl and after a very short wait, was brought to a table and provided a menu. A few minutes later, a waitress took my order. Less than ten minutes later a plate with two fried eggs, two sausage patties and toast. As ordered and a tasty meal, it's clear that they want to turn over tables here. While you're not rushed, you're also not encouraged to dawdle. Which is fine and they're not pushy about it. This was an inexpensive breakfast on a Saturday morning. Just remember to have the cash. They have an (expensive) ATM in the back. [Review 986 of 2024 - 1862 in Florida - 22014 overall]

breakfast and lunch the best closed on Mondays!

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this little gem of a breakfast place, also lunch, but we go strictly for breakfast! Owner Dave, and his employees who are long-standing and have been there for many years no, just how to treat me when I'm on vacation here for the winter! They actually remember my order from year to year which never ceases to amaze me!. The food is fresh and fairly inexpensive. I love coming here every year with my husband, Charlie and myself Jaye!

Really enjoyed the food and low prices here. Cash only, but the Blueberry Pancakes were full of fruit and the side of potatoes also very good. French Toast and bacon also quite tasty. Nice waitress too as this place is apparently a local legend.

Love a good, local breakfast spot! Finally made it here after preparing myself with cash (this is a cash only business) and came here after walking the beach on a Saturday morning. We were seated right away, but dont be fooled, this place was busy! The staff was super friendly and very efficient. She answered all our questions and took our order timely. The menu is quite extensive and offers plenty of different breakfast combos for everyone at the table. You really can't go wrong! The pancakes were delish and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Portions were just right and I definitely left completely full. We sat outside, but they do have quite a few tables inside as well. Such a cute, friendly neighborhood spot. Would definitely recommend and will be back in the future! Love trying out new menu items upon my return to good places. Green Owl for the win!

I hadn't been here in a very long time. I went here for breakfast with out of town guests. I ordered a soft boiled egg and tomato with coffee. It also comes with whole wheat bread. don't forget cash only! I guess because I don't love breakfast that it is always a bit difficult to make me thrilled. But it was a beautiful morning and we were in the shade! I loved their little signs in the place so that was nice. Other people at the table ordered pancakes and eggs. So it was a good smattering of different choices. Plenty of coffee to go around always! They even have a cash machine on premises if you need! You an park on the street before 12 for free so no need to worry about paying!

The Green Owl has been a staple of Delray for many years. Good staff all around with good food being served. Great breakfast spot. Food comes out quick, even though it's usually crowded. they have a few tables outside also. They also serve lunch, I can not comment on that since I only have ordered breakfast. It's my go to when working in the area, stop in, I recommend an omelet , you will not be disappointed.

Delicious, friendly and reasonably priced. The kind of popular little place you expect to be packed out the door during the season.

I ordered the teriyaki bowl with chicken and it had no teriyaki flavor or sauce anywhere. The chicken was probably slightly marinated but I wish it tasted more like teriyaki. The grilled salmon was tasty but the poached egg that came with the Brussels sprout Cesar was full of water and undercooked so I literally didn't even eat it. The strawberry lemonade was 80% water, stick with the hangover cure. The hangover cure was very refreshing. The servers split the tips so they were all pretty helpful and attentive. Probably a good spot for cocktails but I went with my grandma so virgin drinks were the way to go. All in all I'd be back for a cocktail and the fries. The food is also pretty pricey. $11 French fries, $9 for a non-alcoholic beverage. Also when I went, the menu was limited. They weren't serving any of the 'Shareables'. I went at 3pm on a Sunday so you'd think this is prime time to have a full menu available. Service 9/10 Food 6/10 Location & ambiance 8/10 Would I go back? Yes. Vibes would bring me back and I wanna try the cocktails next time (:

The vegetables sandwich that I ordered had so much oil but fortunately the bread soaked up some of it, so I just discarded the bread. My wife's salad with fish was very good. Also, the fruit served with my sandwich? Just perfectly ripe and enjoyable. One of the things that cracked me up here, being a laid back Texas boy, was over hearing all the incessant, noisy, nasal New York Jewish ladies whining, commiserating and ruminating with each other at the other tables. That was entertaining. I had thought about asking about the homemade desserts but the staff was slammed I guess cause no one came around to check on how things were going and if we needed anything else. Just as well. Counting calories. My tipping default would normally be 20% but today... not sure what I will leave lol.

A great value (before 11:30 weekdays) is the $8.95 egg breakfast which includes eggs your way, toast, potatoes and fruit. I was looking for something fresh with clean ingredients and figured a spot with farmhouse in the name would be a good choice. This was our first time here. It looked crowded from the street but we were seated immediately. After a couple of minutes we realized the table was too wobbly to make it through the meal so we asked to be seated at a booth and they were happy to switch us. Our waitress Bri was super nice about it. The food was delicious... I love a good spicy drink and the Spicy Blood Orange Margarita was so nice I ordered it twice lol Really good. Because this was the first of many stops we ordered small plates - Meatballs and Zucchini Chips. We were expecting multiple meatballs but it's actually one giant meatball with this amazing fresh sauce. Also really good but the best thing we had there were the Zucchini Chips!
