Went to skillets with my family for Father's Day breakfast. We were there for a good couple hours and I had to have my food rewarmed once we finally got our food. The restaurant is bright, airy and clean. We ordered their corn-beef hash with eggs, I opted for tomatoes and fresh fruit and avocado toast and hash browns. We had a pot of coffee to share. Came here with my girlfriend. I met her at 12:30. We sat outside and nobody came to take out order or take a drink order until 1 o'clock ...no server to be found ...then somebody finally did come to take our order. We both ordered the eggs Benedict, which took about 40 minutes ... the hollandaise was curdled ( see close up pic)The hashbrowns were raw and I didn't send anything back because I was afraid I would never get food after that because it took so long to get this food.. the place did have staff, but nobody came outside. We have been wanting to try this restaurant. We live five minutes from the marketplace. We went today before we hit the movies and I was so disappointed with the food. First I ordered an omelette it came out extremely dried out with no flavor. The server who is a lovely lady and very polite took it back and brought me eggs hashbrowns and bacon. The hashbrowns were undercooked, the bacon was completely burnt and the eggs were runny when I ordered over medium. At this point I gave up took a couple of bites left the lady a 20% tip because she could not have been nicer and went to the movies hungry. What a disappointment. We spent $30 for two people for breakfast and didn't like any part of it. Sadly will not be coming back. read more

We had a very good lunch here. Located on one of the corners in the Delray marketplace, we were lucky to find a parking spot behind the restaurant. This shopping center is quite popular --especially at lunch time. And the restaurant was busy just after we arrived. We were seated right away. All the booths were taken, so it was a middle row table. We got good and friendly service. And our food came out fairly fast. My husband ordered regular coffee and they brought him a small carafe. I had an iced decaf coffee which they refilled as needed. I had one of their lunch "favorites" -- the chicken caprese sandwich. I left off the mayo. It came on a warm pressed Panini hoagie. Inside the bread: strips of grilled chicken breast, tomato slices, provolone cheese, pesto, and balsamic glaze. The sandwich was served cut in half. It was a very good combo of flavors. I ate half and took half home. For my side, I got the Parmesan potato pancake. It was served hot and the cheese made the shredded potatoes creamy. I also tried their slightly sweet scone of the day -- it was blueberry. It tasted like a biscuit with sprinkled sugar on top. It was okay. They serve breakfast for lunch as well. And my husband ordered their "my big fat Greek" omelet. This was three eggs with lots of tomatoes, spinach, feta cheese and whole Kalamata olives. The olives gave it a bit of saltiness. He said it was very good. The only slip was that he'd ordered skillets potatoes and they gave him the cheesy potato pancake. And the only thing he didn't care for was the biscuit which he said was overly dry. He had to add a mess of jelly and butter to make it edible. We liked this place a lot. In fact, after dining here, I went online to see where they have other restaurants in south Florida. We will have to try their Boca and/or Wellington locations. read more

Brunch stop today. Plenty of parking in back lot and some near front. Interior is bright and clean. Friendly welcome and seated immediately. As we looked over our menus our server took our beverage orders. The coffee is very good BTW. I chose the Big Fat Greek omelet, with feta, spinach, olives and diced tomatoes. It came with a choice of bread; toast, scone or biscuit, I went with the biscuit. (Biscuit was only thing I didn't like - dry and crumbly- okay after dumping jam on the crumbly bits). To be honest, I was pretty excited in the beginning of the meal (always excited to try new restaurant). But this place wasn't it! Food and service was just ok, the server messed up my wife's order and that kind of ruin it for us. Don't get me wrong the server was very nice and very polite but I think he might have been a little overwhelmed with his tables. My wife ordered an egg white omelet with bacon, mushrooms and spinach but they brought out a bacon Egg white omelet and none of the other veggies. First we had our meal to go but we stopped in. Everyone was friendly and the place seemed clean but we can't comment on the table side service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was prepared and expected. The stand outs for us were the pancakes -fluffy but light and tasty---and next was the scone. The scone was hard on outside and soft on the inside -so just buyer beware if you prefer a hard scone all around. Fantastic service this morning from Patrick who took great care of us and ensured that we had a great breakfast. I enjoy breakfast food for lunch, and Skillets has a nice selection of both breakfast and lunch foods. This includes an array of items featuring eggs (many ways), pancakes, waffles, french toast, crepes, fruits, etc. The service wasn't stellar, but since we were planning to enjoy a leisurely meal, the slow pace was just fine. It would have been helpful if the server stopped by a bit more often to check on us and refill our water glasses. We wanted to sit outside as Skillets has several al fresco tables, but the hostess said we would have to wait for an outside table even though we saw a few empty ones and no diners were waiting. We opted to dine inside. Maybe there weren't enough servers on hand? That might also explain the slow service inside. I was interested in the pancake platter, which consists of two pancakes, 2 eggs and bacon or sausage. I asked the server if I could substitute something for the meat, perhaps fruit, and he suggested ordering it without the meat. Great! I didn't know that option was available for the pancake platter. I had the blueberry pancakes, and they were delicious as well as quite large! Some of the best pancakes I've ever had, and full of blueberries. The eggs, which I ordered omelet style, were not particularly flavorful though. My friend ordered the pancake platter as well, with plain pancakes and bacon. The bacon was thick and tasty. Her meal came with a small side of fruit (just a few pieces). When I asked why my meal didn't include the fruit cup, the server explained that I had blueberries in the pancakes (for an upcharge), so no side of fruit was provided. Weird. My friend also requested real maple syrup (for an upcharge, as would be expected). She received a large portion of warm syrup, which was tasty although it seemed a bit thin for real, organic maple syrup. The prices are somewhat high for breakfast foods as compared to several other similar restaurants. But the food (especially those blueberry pancakes!) was generally good. I'll eat again at Skillets. Maybe lunch food next time? Nah. read more

Second visit was much better than the first! Today I opted for a very smooth iced coffee, a BLT salad with grilled chicken and Caesar dressing. And a side apple scone. Everything was terrific, as was the service and the setting. The salad was absolutely loaded with bacon , fresh romaine and tomato and topped with a fan of avocado and tender and juicy grilled chicken breast strips. The Caesar dressing was thick with Parmesan and I loved it. The scone alone was worth a visit back. I've never had such a tasty scone. It was slightly sweet with chunks of apple. I''ve been to Skillets many times and usually enjoy my visits, but this most recent experience was disappointing. The entire atmosphere felt stressed -- both the kitchen and the servers. Food came out extremely inconsistent, with nearly 10 minutes between each plate being served at our table. It was clear the staff was struggling, and other customers seemed to notice the tension as well. To be fair, our server and the manager were very apologetic and did their best to handle the situation professionally. However, the delays and the stress coming from the kitchen really impacted the dining experience. Skillets usually does much better, so I really hope they get some extra support in the kitchen moving forward. I want to continue being a regular, but this visit was very disappointing. read more

Im used to lattes so not fond of regular plain coffee at this point but my choice. I ordered the pecan pancakes, 2 huge flap jacks with some fruit. My daughter and I checked out this new brunch spot near my parent's house. I was bummed I waited until my last day in Boca to try it or I would have gone several times. The goat cheese veggie omelette was delicious and they were very nice about accommodating my pickiness - one egg + 2 egg whites. I wanted to try a bite of their infamous biscuits but they ran out and brought a blueberry scone instead, which was impossible to have just one bite of. My daughter enjoyed the French toast platter, which was so much food with French toast, eggs AND bacon...she put a small dent in it. Every restaurant is annoyingly packed during season in Boca, but we were lucky enough to be seated within 10 minutes. They asked us to wait 10 min not because they didn't have enough tables, but because their kitchen was a little backed up. Good food, good service and I'll be back when in Boca again. I was one of the first customers to walk in on a weekday morning at 7 am. I was greeted with a smile by two servers who were setting up for the day. I was offered any table or booth I like and I was served promptly by Lindsay S. My coffee was at the table within a minute and she suggested menu items for me for breakfast. My latecomer friend got just as much attention as I did about 20 minutes later. The place is absolutely spotless, the cleanest restaurant I have seen in a long time. Everything, I mean everything (!) is clean and organized. The tables, chairs, menus, condiment bottles, sugar caddies, cups, floors, bathroom. Hats off to the staff and management! Ordered the waffle with blueberries. I assumed the blueberries would be inside the waffle as this is what normally I get when ordering this in restaurants. I must say it was good it's like first watch or any of the other breakfast is we had a plain, whole-grain, pancake, one fluffy omelette and one frittata both very good instead of the bread we ordered a pancake which a charge extra didn't tell us about that extra charge also if you want real maple syrup, they charge $1.35. The syrup they give you is 22% all the rest of sugar the waitress was very nice. I suggest you go early cause it does get quite crowded. We did have a 15 minute wait. I liked this space way better than the other location in Boca/Garden Shops. I like the fact that it in Delray Marketplace and you can walk around and shop and browse. The only thing I didn't love was the coffee -tasted a bit burnt! They have inside and outside seating which is a plus. They do have summer specials for $10.99 including beverage but the specials didn't work for me. There are a lot of windows which I like as well! Had breakfast during lunch on MLK day, January 19th. It was my husband and I first time at Skillets. The ambiance felt like we were on a Pigeon Forge, Tennessee vacation with the wood cabin like walls and farm house decor and frames. The service was very good, wonderful hospitality by all staff level and particularly by Sandy. My husband had one of the skillet meals and I had a veggie omelet which comes with avocado that hit the delicious and nutritional high notes. Their hashbrowns were on point, perfect browning and crispy! And their strawberry and blueberry scones (basically like a biscuit but with a sweetened outer crust crunch) were heavenly! I opted for the Mediterranean Skillet with grilled Bermuda onion, mushrooms, peppers, Kalamata olives, sun-dried Tomato, and a sprinkle of goat cheese . My wife choice the bacon avocado Skillet with sliced avocado topped with two strips of Smokehouse Bacon. They are layered with Skillets Potatoes , a unique blend of milk, cream, cream cheese, scallions, and shredded potatoes, oven-baked to a golden brown, topped with Eggs any way and your choice of Toast, Scone, or Biscuit.
