Dune Deck is where my friends and I go when we want an extra special breakfast on the beach. Hands down, the atmosphere here is upbeat, buzzing with brunch vibes, and an absolutely gorgeous view. The many times that I've been here, the food and drink have always hit just right and the service is quick - even when the place is packed. The berry Greek yogurt crepes are tangy, sweet, crunchy, and all together, a great combination of flavors and textures. There are so many berries - enough for each bite. The granola is the perfect juxtaposition to the soft, thin crepes that are filled with a tangy yogurt. The portion size is more than enough for one person, possibly even two. Unless I'm driving, I always start off my meal with one of their cocktails. My two favorites are their piña colada and bloody Mary. They're both tall, strong, and flavorful - perfect while watching to waves crash into the shore. I would also recommend their spanakopita when it's on their specials. Their Greek omelet is delicious too. This is a great place to bring out of town guests, and the great part about this place besides its food and drink is that you can take a leisurely stroll on the beach after breakfast or brunch and make the day extra special! read more

I had friends in town that wanted to have breakfast on the beach. I had no idea how hard that was to find. Luckily The Dune Deck Café was exactly what we were looking for. The entire restaurant is outside on a covered patio. It was actually quite large. I was surprised. The view to the beach was obstructed by tilted umbrellas to keep the sun off the patio - but you could still see the ocean just not as well. If it weren't for those umbrellas, we would've been sitting in direct sunlight, and it would've been way too hot. The service was very attentive and was more than willing to explain dishes to us, especially their specials for the day. Our waiter did not seem to feel rushed or stressed out, even though the restaurant was full, hand made sure to come check on us throughout our time there. I got the special - a Mediterranean avocado toast with tomato, feta and a balsamic drizzle with poached eggs. It was beautiful and nice and light. My friends got mahi tacos, which were phenomenal and the coconut shrimp - nice and crispy. Everybody really enjoyed their meals. The food came out hot and with great timing, even though it was a full house. I wasn't surprised at how hard it was to find parking since they are in a public parking lot for the beach. There were plenty of open spaces, but they were all for permit holders, which I'm guessing are local residents. I ended up taking my chances and parked at a plaza down the street since I couldn't get any parking in the public lot. The view was beautiful. The people were nice. The food was excellent. My wife has wanted to come here for some time now and we finally made it in to enjoy Ocean front dining. We walked along the boardwalk, enjoying the ocean and small beach view. We first noted the Ocean facing bar and then were directed to the seating area. Prompt friendly greeting and drink orders placed. I ordered the Tuna Salad Platter, which was not only delicious but artistically presented! I enjoyed my platter of tuna Salad, fresh fruit, RED RIPE tomato, pita, carrot and celery sticks. I've wanted to go here for some time. We'd been to their other place on the west side of the county and everything I'd read about this place, sounded intriguing. We parked in the beach lot and climbed the stairs. We weren't exactly sure where we were going -- as there were no signs saying "restaurant". We found the narrow wooden boardwalk and walked down to the noise of the people. We first saw the bar and their small counter facing the ocean. Then a bit further down the regular entrance to the restaurant itself. There are two basic rooms -- one lower than the other. There are stairs from one up to another and a few more stairs up to the area for the bathrooms. It's not the easiest access. We had a table looking right out at the boardwalk and the ocean. There was a sea breeze. And it was a bit cool until the sun peaked out. The full menu looked appealing. They also had a blackboard of specials. My husband ordered their tuna salad salad. Although my first choices were either a mussel appetizer or a burger, I ordered a BLT sandwich (I spoke recently with Yelp elite Karen N and it's her mom's favorite) and upgraded to sweet potato fries. The salad was beautiful to look at. Colorful and satisfying. A very ripe red tomato stuffed with tuna salad, pita bread wedges, carrots and celery, and and a small bowl of fresh fruit. My sandwich was wonderful. A plethora of bacon, fresh lettuce and ripe tomato with mayo on toast. The sweet potato fries were delicious -- and addictive. This restaurant is unique and enticing -- a ramshackle appearing building perched on the edge of the high dunes with a spectacular ocean view -- and very appetizing food in generous portions. Dune Deck Café is that rare breakfast spot that actually lives up to the hype. Yes, there's usually a line, but it moves fast and it's 100% worth it. And let me be clear: this place is on the beach... not "near" the beach. You're literally hearing the waves, feeling the ocean air, and soaking in the kind of views that make you slow down and enjoy your coffee a little longer. The food is great, and the portions are no joke. My egg and croissant sandwich could've easily fed two people. Service is quick and efficient even when they're slammed, and my cappuccino came with a rock sugar stick, which... honestly, that's the real way to a girl's heart. I noticed some people complaining about the birds but this is what it means to eat beach side. My bestie's new place is walking distance to the Lantana Municipal Beach. On a 75 degree Saturday morning, Dune Deck Cafe was slammed packed with a waitlist overflowing onto the boardwalk. Hello, 65 degree Thursday -- and Happy New Year! We came for a Bloody Mary and I tried their gazpacho soup. The Bloody Mary gives you a nice buzz, but could have been a tad more creative with shrimp, sausage, okra, and/or bacon. The gazpacho was delish, it's becoming a rarity to find at a close-by restaurant. Awesome beachside view. This is a relaxing spot to hit up after the beach. read more

Wow, this place was absolutely phenomenal! The location itself is worth checking out, let alone the food. The views make it one of my favorite breakfast spots. We came here on a Friday morning, so we were seated right away. Our waiter was extremely attentive and friendly. Our food was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. I had the egg, bacon, and cheese croissant sandwich with potatoes. I also just had to get a pancake on the side, and I am so glad I did! My husband ordered the fresh catch sandwich with fries. He said it was awesome and rated the coleslaw as top-notch. We can't wait to come back here! There is plenty of pay to park parking down below and the ramp made it easy to walk up with a stroller. Stopped in for a late breakfast but they switched to lunch already. They had a few things available all day but we opted for lunch instead. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They had a large board of specials which we both ordered from. I went with the two fish tacos and a side of rice and coleslaw. It was very average at best. I was pretty surprised with the quality considering the high reviews and how much the server spoke highly about the menu, especially the specials. It just lacked a little bit of everything in my eyes. The flavor was missing and the toppings on the taco were just not great. The coleslaw didn't seem fresh and the rice was bland. The portion size was very fair for the price paid and it filled me up. Overall, this seems like a place that you go to for the view and atmosphere. I'd try it again just because of the other high reviews because maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. No complaints on the staff or cleanliness. read more

Honestly just came here for the beautiful view but surprised to find the food was equally as amazing. The grilled calamari had amazing flavor. Best I've ever had. There is easy parking it's the pay by phone parking then walk up the stairs to the boardwalk and it's right there. There are bathrooms available and a pretty decent food selection. Service was AMAZING our server was CARLOS he has been there for 22 years!!! And he was so helpful and nice all staff was nice. It was a cold and windy day we were greeted with smiles and it was busy but I asked if we could have a view and she said no problem let me find a spot. I said I know it busy so it's fine either way, and she was like absolutely, if I were you if want a view too. So that was very nice to have and we did get a great spot! Now it is semi outdoors it's covered but birds were inside. Not many but some. But worth it for the view. The food was good, their Greek salad looked phenomenal my corn beef hash was good and my parents enjoyed their eggs Benedict, and the dune deck coffee and I had a peach Bellini and they were both amazing. Amazing location at the beach with great views. Open air restaurant with lotsa overhead fans so don't worry it's comfortable. Owner greets you at check in and comes by when your food is served to see how it is. No line at 12-1230 but very busy restaurant. Great menu choices of breakfast and lunch items and they do take credit cards. Lotsa Greek items on the menu based on the owners background and we loved it. I had a huge flavorful veggie egg white omelette and my girl got chicken skewers with a Greek salad and homemade tzatziki. She said it was better than Chris's Taverna. Wow. 12-28-2024 I hadn't been to Dune Deck in a long while but family visiting from up North meant brunch on the beach and here is where we ended up... The place was packed and we had a bit of a wait to get seated, and even longer before we got our order but the service was friendly and the food was mostly delicious. Crisp golden breading covered tender calamari, omelettes were full and cooked perfectly, thick slabs of buttered toast, almost everything was great. Our only complaint was the fish and chips... not quite fresh tasting cod under slightly too thick breading, and fairly mediocre fries. The ambiance is loud loud loud, even for an open air space, but prices are decent for a beachfront venue. read more

Now this restaurant really has some spectacular views of the water. If you're looking for some ocean views, then this really checks that box off. Really has those vacation vibes. I had the Dune Deck's Lemonade (vodka, blue curacao, lemonade) which was okay. Downside is that the ice melts and makes the drink watery. So halfway through the drink wasn't as tasty anymore. But thats Florida for you. For entree I got the fish and chips and I was shocked with the portion sizes. The portions were HUGE!! I had 4 pieces of fried fish with fries, a side of coleslaw and a pickle! It was quite a lot of food. The fish was delicious. It was fried perfectly and had really good flavor. The fries were also great. And the coleslaw had a delicious taste. The pickle was slightly soggy. Could've done without that on the plate tbh. I've ate here many times. It's always been good. This time. I sat at the bar. I noticed what looked like my plate go to the people behind me, about 3 to 5mins later they bring the plate to me. I asked if it was the plate that the people behind me had sitting with them and they said yes. I told them I didn't want it at that point. So they come back with a new plate. It looked like they took the skewers and put them back on the grill then put it back on the plate. I tried to cut into the steak and it was so hard and rough. I had to tell them I no longer wanted the dish at all. I've had this dish many times so I know how it's supposed to be. WOW! As a first timer, I was not expecting the portion size! I got the Corn Beef Hash Breakfast, and it was FRESH! I've never experienced a cafe that served Corn Beef Hash made with fresh shredded corn beef and not canned. It was phenomenal! Potatoes were perfect! Egg cooked to perfection, Rye Toast was thick! I could only eat about 1/4 of this though. The staff is friendly. Our Waitress Michelle was phenomenal and did great helping entertain our 16 month old and talking with our other kids on their level. Worth the trip out here. Great views, nice breeze, great food. One thing that does kinda suck is that they don't take credit cards. The ATM machine on site works but literally takes FOREVER to process the transaction. Make sure you use a debit card not a credit card to get out cash. The cc transaction times out and you'll have to start over - or - just bring cash, and bring enough. Lunch for 2, one drink, with tip $100. The view in the pic is great but you have to go after 11:30am to make sure the sun is not in your face. We timed it just right and got there around noon and it was perfect. They also have a sitting area that's very well shaded but the view may not be as spectacular. Going back again this summer! read more

I visited Dune Deck in Lantana while spending time with a guest who was visiting from out of town. We were enjoying our meal and conversation when our waiter repeatedly returned to the table in a way that felt rushed and uncomfortable. Although my guest had not even finished her food, the waiter came back multiple times asking if we were "okay," but the tone and demeanor came across as sarcastic and as if we were being pressured to hurry up and leave because there was a line outside. Shortly after that, another server--who was not even our assigned waiter--approached our table and asked if everything was okay and whether we were ordering more food. When we said no, the interaction again felt like we were being subtly pushed to leave. Because the situation felt increasingly uncomfortable, I asked to speak with a manager. The individual I spoke with stated she was the owner. Her name is Daisy. I calmly explained what had happened and asked if there was a time limit for tables. She stated there was no time limit but said that the line outside was long and that it should be understood that once you finish eating, you should leave. While I understand restaurants can be busy, the manner in which we were repeatedly approached and rushed created an unwelcoming atmosphere. Guests should be able to finish their meal and conversation without feeling pressured or unwelcome. After reading other reviews, it appears others have had similar experiences, which is very concerning. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this establishment. read more

Gorgeous view and breeze! Our server, Victoria was delightful! She started a conversation asking where we are from and she said she's from Montreal. My husband told her we are going there in September...she didn't just mention things to do, she actually wrote down suggestions and told us so many helpful things . I just wish I listened to her when ordering. We opted to share the tropical French toast special and in hind sight, I think she may have been trying to steer us away from it and get the creme brûlée French toast special because she has so many details about that, but unenthusiastic about the tropical. If that's the case, she was spot on. The French toast had no flavor and extremely dry, they tried to toast coconut on top and it was overdone. The fruit were overripe bananas, strawberries, and pineapple. I did not enjoy it at all, but I would try this place again for a different kind of food. read more

There's no sign, so park in the beach parking area and walk up the steps to find the Dune Deck. The Nutella Crepes and Nova Benedict were good and the service was excellent, but the view was amazing. If you don't mind the little ride till antenna it's a great place, it's on the water so it's a great View it was warm however there are fans blowing all over the place and we had a nice table and we had a great server, k a l a n. Our friends arrived our drinks were brought right over along with menus and we ordered. The food was delicious and large enough to take half home. We hadn't been here in years, but not much had changed. Still packed on a Sunday morning (40 minute wait). Still beautiful view overlooking the ocean (better on the back, higher deck). The service was very accommodating. It was so hectic - but the people who work here are very pleasant. Breakfast is served all day on Sunday, thankfully, because we weren't seated until after 12:00. Several in our party had the French toast special and it looked very inviting - covered with cream and drizzled chocolate. I had the avocado toast which came with a beautiful fruit cup but the avocado was mixed with something looking more like a jelly. It was fine but I would have preferred just mashed avocado.
