Pretty good. Super cool spot, tables on various levels, make the most of a small location or small area per floor but overall decent size. I tried a couple of decent stuff. The seared salmon ngiri was super good. I had something on a special menu that was decent but could've been better. It was a combo of fish, i think tuna and salmon cut roll, with a green sauce on top. The green sauce dollop was just a tad too overwhelming and too much. Would've liked it fine. Tried a salmon sashimi that was pretty good. read more

Located in Gastown - pretty transit friendly, short walk from waterfront. Gets very busy, so plan ahead, as there could be a wait. Service was attentive and quick after you sit down - Didn't find the portion that valuable for price, and the fish quality was a tad of a miss for me - pieces tasted a bit sour, wasn't much rice, and the rice that was there was sort of dry. Rest of table seems to enjoy there food, so might just be a me issue. Hopefully this was a one off experience, and they aren't normally like this. Don't think it's worth a re-visit for me, however if the group wanted to go, I wouldn't talk them out of it. read more

3.5 stars. Pretty decent sushi place in the area. I came here for lunch and my friend and I ordered a bento set each. We were satisfied with the meal but not blown away. I liked how the set comes with salad, miso soup, and also konjac noodles. The quality of the sashimi here is pretty decent! My only complaint about the place is the soy sauce was quite salty.. my friend also thought so. Service here was pretty good - no complaints there. read more

My favourite Gastown sushi spot of all time! Little hole in the wall spot that has just the best vibe. Lots of little side booths with good lighting but also good privacy, feels like you're transported into your own little sushi vortex. got a miso soup and the salmon Oshi. Really love their miso and it's a must have every time. The salmon oshi had some thin sliced jalapeños on top, as well as some white and brown sauce on top - didn't need any additional soy sauce because it was so delicious and flavourful on its own! The sprouts added a lovely freshness as well. Service is always amazing whenever I come, and will be back again! read more

Terrible food & service. Restaurant is really in the basement. Very poor quality fish and food. Better places near the Train station

During a work trip, I stopped here for a quick bite. The sashimi was fresh and a good portion. The tempura squid was pretty good but the batter was heavier than I expected. Cute little place that uses its space well. I'd come back again for sure. read more

Only had to wait 15 min for a table and they called us when it was ready. We were seated at the window table overlooking Water Street on a busy Saturday night. Service was prompt and friendly. 4/5 Food: Edamame, Miso soup and the Crazy Combo: Dynamite Roll and the Crazy Boy Specialty Roll. Drinks: house Chardonnay served in a chilled wine glass. Very Affordable & Highly recommend! read more

What a good value for good food! Highly recommend!! The sashimi was fresh and very thick slices. 6 people devoured 2 orders of the deluxe Sashimi plate and 1 spider roll and 1 gangster roll. The store is on a slope so you travel down stairs inside the store. It's pretty unique and well decorated. Right next to Gastown. I didn't see parking since we walked here read more

This place is admittedly a great place for the price. For all the boxes except B, you can choose either chicken or beef teriyaki with it. Our box A is an example of the chicken teriyaki while box D is an example of the beef teriyaki. Box A - $15.50 At least for me, that's a great price (in 2024) for a bento box. Everything was decent but wish there were more meat based tempura instead of mainly veggie tempura. Box C - $20.50 This is a box I'd get if I hadn't had food the whole day. Great portion and taste. I do love that a big roll is also included. Box D - $23.95 Great variety of sashimi and sushi. Chicken udon combo - $15.75 Udon and California roll both aren't anything special. However, the price is great. Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Price: 4/5 (However, it should be noted that a 15% service charge will be added for groups over 4.) read more

This was the only time I was okay with my girlfriend making her "O" face, only because it was after she ate the salmon Toro. My gawd... The closest thing that would compare to eating the sushi is sex. Except I'm having it. The portion quality and serving size of their food spectacular as well as unexpected. The sushi was extremely fresh, and matched by the elegance of the plating. That atmosphere while petite and quaint, feels very upscale with the wood finishing. I feel bad for the serving staff as after I made an order of 52 pieces of Nigri... Completely Brought their kitchen to a standstill. However, they were still extremely charming, kind, and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the Gastown area. But no, seriously, the salmon Toro is amazing! read more

We had the very good meal here. We returned around 830 on a different rainy night. They are open until 9 but told us they stopped serving at 830. It seems like a small restaurant from outside, but they have a decent amount of seating and space for a larger group of 6 close to the kitchen. Their menu is pretty standard. I went with the spicy combo and added on a negitoro roll. The spicy combo was around $14 and came with miso soup. The soup was a bit too salty for my liking. Could have been diluted with a bit more water. The rolls came out pretty fast. Spicy tuna had some small pieces of white onion, which I'm not a huge fan of but I didn't notice it too much with the spicy tuna in it. The chopped scallop is different in that it's on top of the sushi roll. And really it was just a squeeze of spicy sauce on top. The negitoro was quite good as the toro was decently fatty and I liked that it was in a larger piece rather than finely chopped up. I thought the fish to rice ratio was pretty good. Although I found the rice to be a bit on the dryer side. Considering price and portion, it's quite reasonable. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but for the area, it's a good option. Overall, sushi was decent and prices are fair. My meal came out to less than $20 and I was full! Servers were friendly and attentive. read more

It's so affordable! I always like a good deal when it comes to putting food in my mouth, and this place didn't disappoint. We went there because it was part of foodie tour. The sushi was okay but it's hard to enjoy your sushi when you see a lady employee waving around an electric insect swatter trying to kill all the gnats flying around. Thank goodness, as far as I could tell, it wasn't in my water or sushi. read more

Momo Sushi - the menu for the restaurant - Sushi Bars Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Momo is a pretty well-known sushi chain in Vancouver, due to the amount of locations all around town. The Gastown location looks deceivingly small from the front, but has tons of booths and tables in the back. My friends and I were able to get seated in no time on a weekend, to my surprise. I ordered the Sashimi Assortment, which came with three fat chunks of salmon and tuna as well as a couple pieces of octopus, shrimp, and more fish. My one qualm was that it included two pieces of tamago - not trying to pay $25 for some egg, I wish they replaced that with two pieces of other fish. Other than that, I had no problems at all. Very good fish and no complaints :) read more

Delicious sushi! We were staying at the Fairmont and wanted some good, casual sushi. Our concierge pointed us in this direction and it did not disappoint! All sushi was delicious. It was your average yummy sushi. Nothing to really write home about. It if you're looking for a normal, good sushi spot. This would be it. My husband and I loved the Gastown roll. He liked it so much he ordered a second. The Tuna Tataki was probably my favorite roll. A little on the lighter side and the fried garlic let off some really good flavors. I enjoyed its uniqueness. The double spicy roll was very dense. I was surprised when I picked it up. So if you're looking for something filling-that's a great roll. And as someone that enjoys spice. It wasn't spicy at all. So don't be afraid to give it a shot! If you're a little on the whimsy side, I can't speak for your tastebuds. We would totally come here again! read more

I'm giving this place three stars because we liked the sushi but oh boy it was pretty dirty in the building. The girl was walking around with an electric fly swatter. A little off putting. We were also sitting right in the front of the sushi bar and it was not a clean area. Good prices and lots of different rolls to choose from. The mango was really good! We also got a deep fried roll and it was ok. Huge pieces too. read more

Momo sushi is a pretty normal affordable sushi restaurant. It's not too bad for the price. I ordered the deluxe sashimi, Vancouver spider roll and the red dragon roll. The sashimi was very thick, which is something I am okay with. Salmon, sockeye salmon, and the tuna was the most clean and fresh tasting. The tako, hokigai, ebi and tamago was pretty average. Saba was extra fishy. Vancouver spider roll had Soft shell crab, crab meat, cucumber, tobiko, avocado, unagi sauce, wrapped in seaweed. This was the star with its deliciously battered soft shell crap that was juicy tender and seasoned in contrast with the other items it was a great roll. Red dragon roll had cucumber, lettuce, avocado, crabmeat, scallop, prawn tempura, salmon, tobiko, white sauce and unagi sauce. Pretty normal red dragon roll, nothing too amazing. This was takeout so can't really rate the staff or atmosphere. Overall, It's a pretty normal affordable sushi restaurant. Not the best or the worst. read more

Momo Sushi is a Gastown gem! I could not believe how inexpensive and also delicious their sushi rolls were. We stopped in on a Tuesday night and were seated almost immediately into a booth. Although the place looks small when you first enter they have an entire floor beneath, overall a super cool looking interior especially with the neon diner-style sign over the staircase. It didn't take long for us to order and get our sushi, I ordered some salmon nigiri and a house roll and my partner ordered a BC roll and a tuna roll. As it usually goes, I liked what my partner ordered more so I ended up eating most of his BC roll and he took most of my house roll. Don't get me wrong they were both so fresh and tasty. It was just something about the cooked salmon in the BC roll that made it so darn delicious, a must-try! Also, the salmon nigiri was melt in your mouth delicious. We only ended up spending about $35 CAN so only a little over $25 USD. An absolute crazy low cost for delicious sushi. Highly recommend including Momo Sushi in your Gastown adventures! read more

Momo Sushi - crunch roll, 6pc sashimi, and miso soup - Sushi Bars Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

This is pretty standard Vancouver sushi (which to many places in the world is super good) but for a Vancouverite it's alright -- decent at best; however, it is CHEAP, hits the sushi craving and the place is accommodating, with friendly waitresses and a steady flow of customers. I got the spicy combo and my friend got the veggie combo. The spicy tuna and spicy scallop hit the spot but I'm not sure if the spicy sauce masked quite a fish taste from both the scallop and tuna -- a not super great "fishy taste" I'm talkin' about. The veggie combo was awesome thought with the yam tempura roll, kappa roll and avocado roll. The avocado was just perfectly melting in your mouth. If you're looking for a quick bite of sushi to eat, I'd recommend Momo Sushi if you're in Gastown! read more

I was here with my besty on Monday before heading to Yelp event. We both ordered Dinner Box A ($17.95) for our dinners. We didn't wait long, but I found a used sauce dish the table. Did staff forget to clean this? The dinner box deal was definitely unbeatable! So much food for the price we paid! Food tasted okay overall. I didn't like the texture of rice in sushi. It was a bit dry. My besty didn't like the taste of Karaage in the dinner box. I ended up taking Tempura pieces home because of HUGE food portion. The good- food came out fast. Price is inexpensive for what we ate. You can choose any 1 of classic rolls for the Dinner Box (eg. Avocado Roll, Chopped Scallop Roll or other ones). I like the variety of Tempura in my Dinner Box (there was also a Salmon Tempura in it). Food is average; however you'll leave this resto feeling full. Key is required to use bathroom (small bathroom btw). read more

Momo Sushi is a fine place to get quality sushi at a relatively cheap price. I usually elect to get their bento boxes which range from $12-16 depending on what you prefer. I find their ingredients to be quite fresh and the staff to be friendly everytime that I have visited. The chicken karage I got could have been fried for a little longer. I got their udon one visit and the flavour was a bit bland for my taste. The restaurant has limited seating so you may have a bit of a wait if you go on a Friday evening. read more
