    Although this place looks a bit sketchy, the sushi is very good. The specialty rolls are massive, so keep that in mind when ordering! Service is friendly.

    Let's get real. You can't expect a Mercedes when you're dishing out for a Kia (no offence to Kia). Their affordable price point is appreciate it, but you do pay for it. If you're a sushi lover you will certainly pay in terms of the lack of flavour, taste and quality. I ordered three different rolls and oddly enough they all tasted the same. The bag which I paid for came torn and leaking and the wasabi and ginger was meshed all together?! (see pic). I'm not sure what was up with the Miso Soup, it had a strange aftertaste and I had one sip and garbaged the rest. If you're a sushi lover like I am skip this place. The difference in price is not worth it. If you're not, then you'll be relieved when you get your bill, as it is one of the cheapest Sushi places in Vancouver. Quality vs. $......your choice.

    The sushi is not very good here. The sashimi still hads skin on it. messy rainbow roll, added cream cheese to my avocado roll and there was pretty much none.

    My niece was in town from Australia so my sister and I took her and her bestie out for a quick sushi after they did some shopping. Momo has come recommended by a friend so we decided to try it out. From the rolls to the gyoza, from the Sunomo salad to the seaweed salad, everything was fresh and delicious and we've all agreed we would go back again! Good prices plus the staff was so nice and service was impeccable. Note that they don't take credit cards but debit cards work fine!

I don't actually know what it is but it's delicious!) served as a default drink in addition to water or tea DISLIKES: - Feels "fast-foody" even if you sit down - Styrofoam plates, paper cups, everything disposable - Staff doesn't pay too much attention since it is very much a serve yourself once you have your food kind of place - you get up yourself to get water or tea from the tanks on the side - Tuna and other fish were noticably not that fresh Overall, the quality of food and service is not the greatest, but for the price and serving size it's not a bad choice.

    Flew into Vancover a few years ago and visited this place to surprise a friend for her 30th birthday and boy was she surprised! But that's not what this is about so moving on. I have never seen so many sushi places in one area and definitely did not expect to see them in Vancouver! So why did she choose to take me to this location? She knows I like to eat on a budget, have good portions because I eat a lot (and I mean A LOT) and of course it better taste yummy too. Here's a little breakdown: Food/Price: She was not joking when she said good portions! (see photos). For what we paid for, I was full to the top! A lot of things in Vancouver are so expensive, then to see my order to be under $10?! I was definitely a happy girl with a happy belly! We order a varieties of things from sushi of course, to rolls, to udon, you name it. Again for the price you pay and the portion they give you, I won't complain at all. I have to say, its not the best I had but its to par. Sushi were pretty fresh and that is always important because do remember you are eating them raw. Being thousands of miles away from home and a mini getaway, I want to remember my trip and not one where I'm hugging the toilet. Ambiance: This is where I do have to knock off a star. Its very small and seats were crowded together. Not the most comfortable if you ask me. This place reminds me of the quick bites street corners in Japan where you generally order, eat, pay and get out in like 15 minutes. Definitely not your ideal place to hang out long or chat. Just eat and go. Service/Cleanliness: Pretty quick and straight forward. Not the best but not the worse. Pretty clean but again reminds me of a tiny mom and pop or cafeteria setting.

    Cozy place. Korean style sushi. Sashimi slices are huge. It looks like their sashimi filets are precut from a wholesaler and not hand cut fresh from a the fish by a chef in the restaurant. You won't get an authentic sushi bat experience here but it is a good value. Salmon, Saba, and Toro was fresh. Hamachi, Snapper, and Albacore were not as fresh and had a little freezer burn which made the texture a bit spongy. The preparation is not delicate. Some pieces had jagged tears instead of a clean cut. As noted by other reviews, rolls look huge. This place is definitely for the volume eater looking for a cheap sushi fix. It's worthy of a try, but keep expectations low. Read PARKING signs on ROBSON carefully. They have a strict TOWING policy.

    This is my second time eating at Momo sushi and I feel the food quality isn't the same. I ordered spicy combo, spicy salmon sashimi and philly roll including some maki roll. The salmon, tuna wasn't as fresh, as I could taste it. The teriyaki chicken was dry and not crispy. The seafood didn't taste very fresh and the rolls compared to other places were smaller. All together we paid under $40.00 which is decent for a regular sushi place. I feel sushi Momo is a hit or a miss. I would recommend trying it either way.

    Ordered take out when I got there at 4pm, waited 20 minutes for a dynamite combo and red dragon when it wasn't busy.....disappointed about that. Was ok food though, great for price. I didn't get the special treatment of being offered miso when I waited. :(

    First of all, the MOMO Sushi House (on Bidwell) is not the same as the other Momo places on water, Robson, and Georgia. I just discovered this. I haven't been to this place since 2016, the last time I was luckily in Vancouver. I was curious about the meaning of Momo. There's a large company in China named Momo and they don't serve sushi. So, I did a Google search and the meaning is pretty broad and interesting. In Tibetan cooking, Momo is a steamed dumpling filled with meat or vegetables. Tasty! In Japan, Momo is " the name of a statue with big bug eyes and a creepy smile that was made in Japan by a sculptor named Keisuke Aiso" scary! And my favorite, according to the Urban Dictionary, Momo is used to describe a "goof, tool, ass clown; botard; asstard"....umm, wonder who in the USA best fits this description? Hint - he is in Washington DC but prefers to golf and cause havoc. Anyways I got somewhat off tangent..now to my review I was looking for VALUE. Scanning through the menu, my eyes were intrigued by Box A for $10.50. I don't know how they got so much stuff crammed into the box, but they did. From site: Cooked salmon on rice, California roll (4 pieces), tuna sashimi (3 pieces), salmon sashimi (3 pieces), tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri, green salad & fruit. See picture. The quantity was clearly obvious. Quality would have been a bonus. Well guess what? You get both! Cooked salmon on rice was terrific. Sashimi and nigiri were fresh. There was even some nice tasting seaweed on top of the sashimi. The salad was good but clearly not the star of this meal. FYI, I don't recall eating a fruit? Maybe it got lost in the salad and it all went down the same time. Congrats to Momo Sushi House. Well done and see you soon!

I enjoyed a premium sake flight (which was fine...just fine), an old fashioned served with the perfect accompanying dark chocolate, and a good amount of sushi including their signature aburi style sushi in flight form and nigiri tuna flight (bluefin, chutoro, otoro). After visiting Japan last December, I'm a bit of an otoro snob but I have to hand it to them, all three of these cuts were perfect. The accompanying rice, perfection. The quality of the fish, divine. The view was the cherry on top of this experience. This will certainly be a spot I revisit next time I'm in Vancouver.

If you're wanting an upscale experience (and portion) of good quality food or wanting to impress other parties, then this is a nice spot. For regular eats, it's a bit too luxurious to be a casual thing in my opinion. The ambiance is nice and calm. They have a patio, which has a meh view overlooking the harbor, but beware of a breezy day. It will catch a bit of a wind tunnel. They have heaters and blankets but the heaters don't really reach unless you're sitting next to it.

But in other parts of the world the meal is what's important and so is a quick turn around. Guu with Garlic reminded me a lot of the Izakaya restaurants I found under the train lines of Tokyo in many ways, including the amount of time it felt right to stay. The food came out quick, the servers took orders quicker, and the alcohol came out chilled and as nice contrast to the hot food. Looking around and you see the hand written menu on blackboard surfaces on the walls and this feeling of authenticity. The heat of the flames from the kitchen can be felt and seen if you sit at the bar. And the flavors just hit all the right notes. Starting with appetizers, a section izakayas shine at, the first dish we got was their scallop and mayo pizza. With a crispy crunch on the bottom and crust, this reminds you of the flavors of a baked volcano roll or scallop roll you can find in almost any North American sushi restaurant. Just like that dish, it's important to eat it while it's still hot so it doesn't get gross and 느끼 에. Then came the yellowtail tuna "tempura" pieces. Thick pieces of yellowtail tuna flash fried for just the right crisp on the outside with slight pink of the fish inside. It is meaty without being oily or fatty. Great bite. The beef tongue after was interesting. From the color of the sauce it accompanies it you would think it would be heavy in flavor but it is actually light and citrusy. A good cut into the richer tones of the beef tongue. The yaki udon was one of the best I ever had. It was smokey without being overpowering. The beef was thin and tender and balanced well with the mushrooms it also came with. The udon noodles stayed bouncy and chewy which I didn't expect from being grilled. Very tasty and highly recommend this dish. For our final bite we shared a hot stone bowl of their pork and cabbage rice. With the hot stone bowl constantly cooking even after this dish arrived it was imperative to stir the ingredients together constantly for the first two minutes. It allowed for the runny egg to meld with the rice and the crispy texture of some ingredients was a nice bonus. All in all, I loved eating here and if my appetite was bigger I would've tried more on their menu. A solid place to eat with a great atmosphere, if you're looking for delicious food that won't take too much of your time but still lingers in your memories you have to check out Guu with Garlic.

The unlimited rice/soup/cabbage is just icing on the cake. My dining partner had the Kake udon (pretty good, noodles good texture and slightly smaller strands than most places) and Menchi Cheese side - basically a pork meatball with cheese and deep fried katsu-style, served with katsu sauce. This was excellent. My original review still stands. Excellent katsu, plus they have the consistency and reliability. $28-30/meal and its plenty of food for 1, especially with unlimited cabbage/rice/soup. Restaurant is nice and comfortable, good spacing and not cramped. Easy recommend. 5/5.

Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

I prefer a more intimidate and interactive style of omakase where you can talk with the chefs. This lunch also felt a little fast in terms of progression of the meal. Some of the dishes were very tasty while others didn't wow us. With drinks, we were quite full despite some reviews saying portion is on the smaller size. Our total was around $500 with drinks for 2 people. A really good experience for omakase, especially if you are looking for a unique experience though not my favourite one I've tried.

Despite it being a weeknight, the place was packed. It was good that we had a reservation. There was a couple in line before me and they were walk-ins, and there were no available seats for them. I noted how small this place was, and crowded, with the tables close together and a long bar with a counter and barstools there (also close together). Our reserved table was right by the front door - literally, - so every time the door opened, we got a gust of cold air (and it was a cold February night when we were there). I kept my coat on. Truth be known, I was not very comfortable. Also, it was loud. Very loud. I like how the staff shout Japanese greetings to diners whenever they enter but between the frequent shouts and the sheer volume of chatter from all the diners, all sitting close together in close proximity, it was kinda hard to hear what my friends were saying during our dinner. That said, the environment was super vibrant and, again, my friends said this was very typical of an Izakaya in Japan. Food-wise, I have no idea what my friends ordered. The menu was primarily available by way of a QR code and I had no idea what the dishes were, so I deferred to my friends' knowledge. But I can attest that all the dishes were DELICIOUS. We had some sort of Japanese street food "pancakes" (they were wonderful). We had some sort of stirfry beef with noodles (amazing). We had two types of sashimi (omg both were so fresh and so so good!). We had a few other dishes that I can't recall, but I remember I loved them. So.... the food here was GREAT. Service was also attentive which I hadn't expected, being as busy as the restaurant was. I really liked this place but I'll probably go back in the summertime when the weather is nicer as I was cold there, and I'd dine at an off-time, when the volume wasn't so loud. (I'm too old for the loudness!).

Everything was clean, fresh, and well-balanced -- no heavy sauces, no distractions, just really good fish. The toro was rich and smooth, the scallop was buttery, and the truffle lobster added a nice depth without overpowering the roll. Pickup was quick and seamless, and the food was packaged well for eating on the go before a flight. Portions are standard, but the flavor and quality are absolutely the highlight here. If you care more about how sushi tastes than flashy extras, Hello Nori is a great choice. Would happily come back next time.
