Pretty tasty (Korean?) sushi place near Tinseltown. I don't think this place is Japanese. Parking is available in the metered spots in the vicinity. Staff are friendly and quick. Sat down and they took our order in minutes. Food here is fresh and tasty. Buddy and I were happy. Prawn tempura - nice and light batter. 6 in the order. Comes with sauce. Sushi and tuna tempura - decent but not huge sized pieces. Fresh. Rainbow roll - this is basically a glorified Alaska roll with an extra slice of avocado on top, as well as an extra slice of salmon or tuna depending on the position on the roll (hence the "rainbow" name). Covered in that tangy Korean salad sauce, which is why I think the place is Korean. Tasty. It's a little pricy for the amount of food, but the quality was there. I'd come back, though there are other Japanese places in the vicinity. Recommended.

Sushi Den is located near the Stadium Skytrain station so very convenient to anyone heading to Costco or to a game. We ordered take out as temporarily staying in an Airbnb around the corner for a few weeks. The presentation and taste were good for the two combos we ordered and the price was very reasonable. Just a reminder to bring your own bag if ordering take out to avoid the extra charge the city of Vancouver implemented. It was a positive food experience and happy to recommend Sushi Den.

Little spot that is always busy! Looks generally clean and big windows offer light and views of the busy stadium district. The service was prompt and food came quickly. Food was also super affordable for the portion sizes and especially the quality! The fish was fresh and tasty.

Good service, decent and competitive prices especially for the meals. Pretty busy but not too crowded to find a seat during late evening. Lots of people taking out orders too.

I'm not going to hide in the DEN when I can eat all this SUSHI! We ordered take out and got fresh tasting sushi and perfectly deep fried assorted tempura at an affordable price. There were 4 pieces of tuna and 5 pieces of salmon sashimi and all were thiccc and glistening with yumminess. They both just melted in my mouth and I kept on wanting more. The box of tempura was never ending and kept its crispness throughout our whole meal. The dynamite roll was HUGE with the right amount of rice to filling. The only negative I could say was that there wasn't enough sauce for the tempura and soy sauce for the sashimi and sushi. Customer service was on point too! In the box: Salmon and tuna sashimi $11.50 Dynamite Roll $5.00 Assorted tempura $10.50

I visited Sushi Den at about 1:15pm on a Tuesday. It was just me and one other patron sitting inside. You have to fill out your name and phone number on a form and show proof of vaccination in order to eat inside. The menu is very thorough and has a ton of options. Most of the rolls are extremely cheap!! $4 for a spicy salmon roll. It was awesome. I got my order in right away and got my food in less than five minutes. Everything was great and the serving was on such a beautiful plate. The food was fresh and tasted great.

The price of sushi here is amazing. Quality of fish is good, too. I've eaten here multiple times, and everything has been fresh. Tempura is crispy; batter is not too thick. The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly. There is better sushi in Vancouver, but when it comes to the price/quality combo, this place is hard to beat!

Good value sushi place, ingredients were mostly fresh (except for the chopped scallop). Tempura has a nice coating and crunch, but had a burnt oil taste. Food came really fast, but had to flag down our server for everything. The service can use some major improvement IMO. The servers are hit and miss. Sometimes I get a really friendly and helpful waitress, but other times I get really bad service. For example one time a group of waitress was chatting with each other and ignoring us, and when they were cleaning up the dishes, they dropped a soy sauce plate full of soy sauce on the table and it splattered on all of us. Another time the waitress doesn't greet you or even speak to you. They just come up and stand silently beside our table with a pen in hand to take our orders. Then leave again without saying a single word. I had a whole meal once with a waiter not saying a single word. Service quality aside, I think they are overall good value for what you get.

I just came here for lunch and was surprised by how cheap the food was and how good it was. The Tuna and salmon was both great! The service was great too.

Aburi lobster, red bonito, copper River salmon belly

Words can hardly capture the sheer delight that flooded my senses as I savored the sushi at this remarkable establishment. The flavors were a revelation, each piece a testament to the chef's expertise and dedication to their craft. The fish melted in my mouth. Get the Aburi Lobster. Get the Copper River Salmon. Get it all. Ask the servers for their advice on the latest, because they know what's up. If you're a sushi enthusiast, prepare to be transported to a realm of gastronomic bliss. This experience redefines sushi dining in the most exquisite way possible.

Steep as it is, I decided I wanted a "quick little sushi lunch with a view", and a quick little sushi lunch with a few is exactly what I received. Although I don't recommend it, I walked right in from the street, no reservation, and was seated at the bar (in pretty casual street clothes I may add). I enjoyed a premium sake flight (which was fine...just fine), an old fashioned served with the perfect accompanying dark chocolate, and a good amount of sushi including their signature aburi style sushi in flight form and nigiri tuna flight (bluefin, chutoro, otoro). After visiting Japan last December, I'm a bit of an otoro snob but I have to hand it to them, all three of these cuts were perfect. The accompanying rice, perfection. The quality of the fish, divine. The view was the cherry on top of this experience. This will certainly be a spot I revisit next time I'm in Vancouver.

I completely understand that the space inside is limited, and waiting can be unavoidable. What made the experience less comfortable was not the wait itself, but the way it was communicated. Being asked to wait outside felt a bit cold and impersonal. In situations like this, a more friendly explanation, a small sign at the door, or even a simple system that lets customers know when to come back could make the wait feel much more considerate and human. Running a small restaurant is not easy, especially in today's economic climate. I truly believe that with a warmer, more customer-oriented approach, this place could do very well. My hubs and I vacationed in Vancouver a few weeks ago in late April. We had seen the long lines for dinner at Saku when we were here more than a year ago. So, we decided to give them a try for a late lunch around 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon. No wait. We got seated right away. We liked how spacious and airy the dining room was. Our wait staff were friendly and on point. They were considerate about answering our questions about the food and food allergies. I ordered the chicken thigh katsu ($26 Can) and my hubs got the chicken thigh curry ($28.50 Can). No dairy involved in either dish which I was happy about because I have challenges digesting milk protein. Yes, it's kinda pricey. Yes, it's totally worth it. The katsu is light, crispy, fried perfectly, not greasy, and comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, finely chopped cabbage salad, and an addictively delicious sesame dressing. My hubs' curry sauce was served on the side so he could pour out as much or as little as he wanted. All in all, it was a very pleasant and satisfying meal. Saku is top notch for katsu. Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

This is a more theatrical style so expect louder music and a more theatrical experience (eg one of the servers played the flute for the guests celebrating birthdays). Some of the dishes were very tasty while others didn't wow us. With drinks, we were quite full despite some reviews saying portion is on the smaller size. Our total was around $500 with drinks for 2 people. A really good experience for omakase, especially if you are looking for a unique experience though not my favourite one I've tried.
