I tried this new pizza place after my girlfriend raved about it. We have very different tastes unfortunately. I was immediately leary of a pizza place that doesn't smell like good pizza. Then I saw the crust, I was highly skeptical before it even went in the oven. It is much too thin and has a Tony's (freezer pizza) look to it. The pizza builders skimp on the toppings and the cheese resembles winco bagged mozzarella. When the pizza emerged from the oven my fears were realized. The crust was falling apart and had a cardboard texture to it. The pizza was altogether bland and undersauced. The chorizo on my pizza tasted like quality and the bread sticks and salad were decent, although they forgot my sauce. I haven't been to mini maxwell's yet but do yourself a favor and go next door. My guess is that the pizza there is much better. Will not be returning to MOD. read more

Wow I actually really liked this place it was a bit noisy and my original thought was that it was more of a cool hang out spot for the younger crowd however the customer service was awesome and the food was terrific. Three of us ate and all of us were stuft for under $30 that is a great deal. Add to the value of feeding three adults for under $30 the fact the food was great and you got a winner. read more

We are travelling through Redding and based on reviews we figured Mod Pizza would be a good choice for dinner. We ordered on line and the pie was ready when we picked it up. Beyond that, there isn't much positive we can say about it. Dough was essentially raw. The toppings slid off when you tried to pick it up. The person who cut the pie didn't cut it through to the bottom so along with sliding toppings, you had to tear and I mean tear the pieces apart. Next time we are in town we'll pass on Mod Pizza. read more

This is the place where you can build your own pizza. I have been here several times and would give 5 stars except for the fact that on two occasions, my friend and I were served pizzas which were undercooked. This ruined it for me as I had to take them home and finish cooking them on both occasions. What a pain! Hopefully MOD will figure this out. This is a great place for a quick pizza trip. I like that you can have as many toppings as you want. The ingredients were super fresh. I'm not a huge fan of thin crust, but the crust was very tasty and not too crispy. I really enjoyed the pizza and will come back again. The staff was were very helpful and happy. The downsides were A) the women's bathroom stall is so small. I'm not a large person at all and could barely squeeze in. B) the music was a tad bit loud. MOD pizza is delicious! My pizza is always just right and the thin crust is just what I like. The mini size is perfect for one sitting, but the MOD size means leftovers, so you can't lose. I particularly recommend trying chick peas and the roasted asparagus on your pie. Great place to eat and have a great time with friends. Great atmosphere, and wonderful pizza. It's a pizza joint so people who are complaining about the music on here must be up tight and used to fine dining at the Sheraton. Manager was super wonderful and helped me to the lemonade WHICH IS AMAZING!! Great customer service, people also complaining about being "yelled" at when you walk in through the door are also used to Outback Steakhouse where everything is gloomy and quiet like a Tim burton film. If you are a fan of excellent pizza, Redding isn't the place for you. MOD is doing a good job. It is loud, but they work to deliver the best possible product. It is definitely Chipotle's version of pizza and will probably do pretty well. The staff is the difference...crazy energy. If you're in a hurry this place is not the way to go it literally took 20 minutes to make my food and there was only me and this other couple in the restaurant in line. How is it that there is a million workers here and it still takes that long to get your food ordered along with waiting for it to cook. The food is great but the overall service is crappy. Oh MOD, how I love you. I've only just discovered you and I've seen you twice this week already. It's like the Chipotle of the pizza world. Choose your crust size, and it's the same price no matter what toppings you get. Great selection of toppings--meat, veggies, cheeses. My plan is to try a new creation every visit. I am so surprised at how FAST they are. This is due to their extremely thin crust and hot brick oven! This crust is my favorite (thin and crispy!) and you don't feel disgusting after you eat it. They even offer a Gluten Free option for $2 more. I haven't found a crust like it in Redding yet. You'll probably learn my name, MOD staff, because I don't think I can get enough. The service was okay. They put small amount of cheese and veggies choices which made me feel like they should put more since i am vegetarian. I have never tried this chain before. There were 3 of us in our group with very different tastes. I liked the way we could each get our own pizza with our own toppings. I love mod pizza, but the one I love is in san Jose. Rhis one isn't close. The one in san Jose, if I wanted extra something and not something else that's fine they made it how you wanted. Here they don't work with you. If I asked for every item one by one, all of them, then I would have this huge pizza but all I want is extra on certain Items to make it how I want it. They are just to restraining at this location. I have heard the same thing from other friends. They pass you off and say they will add more at the end. So I pass up stuff because I want it built my way and they screw it up. Owners need a trip to san jose store and see how to run the place. Friendly place. Love the individual pizzas and salads which one can customize with any and all the toppings you like. If you are stuck for ideas, they will make recommendations. This place is such a mad house, no body there has any idea what the heck is going on, the are all making pizzas and running in circles like chickens with there heads cut off. We ordered four pizzas two of them were mini pepperoni pizza, and cheese the other a mini with a couple toppings, the fourth was choose your own, and it wasn't anything overly difficult. We all got our pizza with in 15mins, but the fourth was lost remade, and remade again , each time wrong. My advise for this place is.. Great concept very new and fun, butt and that's a big butt, get you staff together , you have a ton of employees but none of them know what's going on. Please train your mates. so the pizza is ok. most of the time they are fast. this place just opened so there is a ton of people here prime lunch and dinner times so expect to wait in line if you have to eat then.
