CYO calzone with salame, gorgonzola and creamy pesto!
    Rebecca J.

I got the CYO Calzone with salami, Gorgonzola, and creamy pesto. I also got a side salad and garlic stuffed cheesy bread. The calzone & cheesy bread were both huge and absolutely delicious with high quality ingredients, packed with flavor & delicious dipping sauces. Great value for the price! The side salad was super fresh & also huge with lots of toppings! My only minor criticism is the salad came with a packet of Ken's dressing (I requested blue cheese) - their sauces are so good & store-bought Ken's packet dressing is so mediocre. Will definitely be back & would be stoked to see homemade salad dressings offered in the future.

I consistently get a good calzone from here. Affordable too. Love the lattice work they do with the dough.

It was comfortable, quiet, and I enjoyed watching the bartender and the kitchen staff at work. We were in time for Happy Hour and I took advantage of the $4 draft beer (Farmer's Light - fruity and fun); my wife went upscale and had a regular-priced glass of merlot ($8). Both of us had the chicken cranberry salad - it was delicious, with lots of chicken. The bread was good, too. Our server kept us fed and watered and was very helpful and pleasant. I'd come back...but I'd make sure to have a reservation!

For starters we had steamed clams, calamari and meatballs. For our mains we decided on their Bistro Filet Ravioli, which has Ricotta, Romano, Parmesan, and Asiago jumbo stuffed raviolis, creamy alfredo, chili flakes, topped with their signature pan-seared bistro filet tips. It was amazing. We also had their Ribeye steak at about $53.00. I think it was a 14oz hand-cut ribeye, and it had the best butter on it. It came with mashed Yukon potatoes and marinated asparagus. We will be getting all of this again. We were staying in a hotel so took home some great pasta. The service is great. The food is amazing and the place is just so cute and ever so clean.

My husband and I shared the roasted asparagus - yummy, but a little too much cheese for us), a Caesar salad (very good) and the Elk burger (delicious and highly recommended). I starved myself knowing I was coming here for dinner. The portions are very generous. We started with a trio of Venetian Arancini (fried risotto balls). Light crispy and great for sharing. They are huge and very tasty. The other appetizer we tried was the fried crispy Brussels sprouts with a most delicious dipping sauce. We also shared their apple prosciutto salad with candied pecans, and bits of Gorgonzola cheese. The matchstick slices of apple ensured you had a bit of sweet crunch with each bite. Very yummy. I would have this as an entree salad next time. I ordered the daily special. A fire roasted salmon belly curled in a circle and a 2 big stalks of asparagus sticking straight up. The salmon was on a bed of mashed potato surrounded on a simple butter sauce. Again a very big entree. The local petrale sole was huge and served with wilted spinach, olive oil mashed potato and with a brown butter sauce. We were so full but made room for a serving of Dutch apple crisp with a dollop of ice cream. They have a full bar so we had a lemon drop and Hendricks and tonic.

We came in around dinnertime and had made a reservation beforehand so was seated without a wait. Our server was very sweet and took the time to explain the new breadstick, salad, or soup add-on (basically you have to pay separately for it but once ordered, it's unlimited) and brought out our food super quick. I got the chicken shrimp carbonara, which was creamy and had big portions. The chicken was a little bland but with some pepper added, blended in well with the pasta. I really liked the soup and was glad we could have as much of it as we wanted. Definitely hit the spot. It was easy to order and pay and I'm curious about checking out another OG location closer to home.

We were seated along the large window overlooking patio seating and the Sacramento River. The views are truly lovely. Our server, MJ greeted us kindly and took our beverage order. I ordered a glass of their House White, which was a 2022 California Chardonnay and was quite good. My partner ordered an iced tea. For dinner we ordered the Ribeye and the Filet, both cooked medium. Our food arrived approximately 30 minutes after ordering. The quality of the beef here was absolutely top notch. Prime beef for sure. This was the best steak I have enjoyed in Shasta County in over 10 years. Absolutely cooked to perfection. My partner's filet was massive. This had to be at least a 20 ounce filet and he enjoyed every morsel. The sides accompanying our mains, mashed potatoes and carrots for him and mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts for me, were fair to good, but not great. The carrots were raw. As in, not only very crunchy but cold all the way through. Mashed potatoes were nice and buttery, but not nearly warm enough. These spuds sat on a plate until the beef arrived. The restaurant was very kind in offering us a complimentary slice of cheesecake since we were celebrating an anniversary. The cheesecake was dense and rich and accompanied by berry sauce and caramel sauce, both of which were lovely. Freshly piped whipped cream and mixed berries and powdered sugar on the dessert plate made for a very lovely presentation, indeed, and was most appreciated. Service the entire meal was excellent. Price for our meals: $135 + $27 gratuity for a total of $162. We have paid nearly as much for a steak dinner elsewhere in Shasta County for a meal that came nowhere close to this. Worth. Every. Penny. Cannot wait to try the Brunch Menu. Highly Recommended.
