For what is perceived as fast food pizza, this place rocks, the service is first class, the staff are super friendly and the pizza is amazing. I am a thin crust pizza fan so for me it checks all the boxes, love that you see your pizza being made in front of you and that you can pretty much make up any concoction that you desire... Great for families (All) and I mean all our kids are fans. read more

I love the idea of all pizzas costing the same even though they are not created equally! Put everything on a pizza or only a couple things...one price fits all (per size that is). Watching them put the toppings on your pizza is a nice treat. There are even suggestions in case you want to try something a little different. The pizzas are cooked in a fire oven which leaves them greaseless. My wife and I enjoyed our pizzas and will be going back soon! read more

My family and I love Mod Pizza!! You get any amount of toppings made to order and is very warm, tasty and delicious. Staff is friendly and welcoming. read more

MOD Pizza - My mod pizza delicious - Pizza Near Me - Gainesville, Virginia

Excellent wood fired pizza and surprisingly great salads. It seems a little costly, but it's worth the money for the quality.

I absolutely love this place! They even have dairy free cheese! I've been going here since they opened and I'm satisfied every time I go. I love the pizza, service is fast and they remake your pizza if they burn it and it takes like 2 min!! No extra charge for toppings, super fast, can't complain. read more

Yum! You basically make the flavor of your pizza. All ingredients are fresh and tasty. A great deal for the money

First time at mod pizza, fantastic experience. Abby was super helpful picking toppings and explaining the process. Small round ice for my soda, half-and-half pizza even different sauces, to share with my hubs. And they brought out our food to the table! All the girls Super nice. This might be our new fave! read more

The pizza wasn't that really good and the people were OK. I'm not a big fan of this place.

I went here 3 days in a row this past weekend! Went with different people every time. One girl recognized me on my third day there, lol. My first time at a Mod Pizza was in LA early 2014. I asked them if they would ever come out to the east coast, but they weren't sure. A few months ago when my husband + I found out they were coming to VA, at the promenade 5 minutes from us, we were ecstatic! It's THAT delicious, y'all. The first Mod Pizza in VA + it's 5 minutes from our house! They have different pizzas for you to choose from, but it's called Mod Pizza for a reason - so you can modify it. I like to make my own pizza. It's so, so good. And they have different sizes you can choose from - mini, Mod, and mega. The Mod size is definitely enough for one person; that's the size I get. But it can also comfortably feed two people if they aren't too hungry to begin with. Try this place out. You won't regret it! read more

Was so excited to try this place. People had been talking it up on Yelp. 4 stars? No. My 6 inch pizza was burnt. And so tiny. My family ordered 2 11 inch specialty pizzas, they both only measured 9.5 inches inches in actuality and we only know this Bc they were so small we were shocked and had to measure them. Both specialty pizzas were basically very doughy and has huge bubbles in them both that were not covered and all burnt dough no toppings. And for 23? No thank you. What a disappointment. I would say stick to Guiseppes. read more

MOD Pizza - One tiny slice of a small 11inch pizza worn a huge doughy bubble in it?! - Pizza Near Me - Gainesville, Virginia

OH love this! Since we went, I've been thinking about my pizza and wanting to come back. I put absolutely everything and the kitchen sink on my pizza- which I shared with the fiance. He did not put "everything" on his side (yes they will split it up any way you like!) All the toppings were awesome and overall, for pizza, when you can add all the veggies you want this can be pretty healthy! I loved loved loved the double decker huge one we got, and the pesto sauce is not to be missed. read more

I did not think that a fast-food pizza place could be good and I was wrong. Mod pizza is GREAT! I completely enjoyed it and I would eagerly go back to try another. I had the Tristan which was; mozzarella, asiago, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, pesto and my friend had the Calexico; mozzarella, gorgonzola, chicken, jalapenos, hot buffalo sauce, red sauce, both were delicious, crisp and perfectly cooked. read more

I'm so happy they opened mod pizza! I love the different pizzas and the salads they offer here. I also love the fact that you're greeted so nicely regardless of if you walk in right before they close (which I have and I know most places would just glare at me until I left) or just in the middle of the day during a Saturday. read more

Nice little pizza restaurant. Was greeted by a really nice young woman named Jessica who explained the process for pizzas and salad. Really nice staff that built a pizza and salad to our specifications. We had the Mad Dog and Caesar salad. It was really good! Loved it and will return! read more

Hey, this is pretty good! I decided to try this place the other day on a whim. I was with a family member who is not able to consume specific ingredients often found on Italian foods like pizza, and so we are always having to look extra hard to find places that can cater to her needs. Luckily, this place was very accommodating. Staff was friendly, and having a real brick oven to make the pizzas in is a huge plus for us. We love brick oven pizza. It gives you the crispiest crust possible. MOD was no exception. This style of crust can't be beaten. We ordered our pizzas and ate them in their outdoor dining section. They only had 2 tables you could eat at, but there wasn't anyone else there. I ordered the Calexico. It's a pizza with gorgonzola cheese, chicken, jalapenos and hot sauce. The verdict? It's fantastic. Like I may have trouble trying to eat take out pizza from a regular chain from now on because I know it won't compare to what I got from MOD pizza. That combo of flavors, especially the chicken and hot sauce, was out of this world. Unfortunately, I couldn't really taste the gorgonzola, which is a shame because I love how strong the taste of gorgonzola is on a pizza. It was like it wasn't even on the pizza. This was their only miss, taste-wise. Regardless, I will be returning. The only reason this review isn't ending with 5 stars is because of the tacky political messages they have inside their restaurant. I'm trying to eat, not get lectured about politics by community college dropouts. read more

Pretty disappointed ....i pretty much customized my pizza for the works. And look what I ended up getting. I was starving. So when I got it ...actually ate 75 percent of it before I realized it was not the correct pizza. Judge my picture .....i don't see the broccoli, grilled chicken, corn, onion, beef, mushrooms etc. I don't get it?!?!? This isn't what I ordered read more

Just had lunch here. It was delicious. We choose our own toppings and had a glass of beer. Definitely recommend this place. Good value

Always good service and hot delicious made to order food. Great atmosphere and great choices of drink. I highly recommend the bbq pizza. Different sizes and salad options as well. read more

Good size pizza for the money , toppings are free . Pretty good pizza, I enjoyed the experience, nice!

Curbside pickup doesn't work. I ordered a pizza online and got a confirmation email, but when I arrived they couldn't figure out where it was. After 3-4 minutes of her trying to convince me that I didn't know my own name, they finally figured out that another customer had taken it. They said they'd make another and bring it out in five minutes. Over 15 minutes later I went inside (which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place because they don't require masks), and after talking to three people and waiting around a while more, someone found it sitting on a shelf, cold. Since I'd already paid and tipped, there's not much I could do other than bring it home and put it in the oven. To be fair, the walk-in system works well, it's just not a very COVID-friendly place to be inside. read more

Burns my pizza EVERY time i go in there and gets me so mad i don't wanna think about this place

Unfortunately my experience wasn't so good here... bit into my pizza and something hard like a rock. Pulled out a olive pit! Let the young manager know who was less than phased I guess he's not aware that this could have potentially caused a cracked tooth and several thousands of dollars in dental bills. He offered to make me another pizza which I had him box up because I had lost all appetite, just got home and the pizza is burnt to a crisp! I'm assuming in retaliation to me complaining about the olive pit. read more

This place is awesome! The food is delicious and the staff is almost always very polite. You can either make your own pizza or order one off the menu and alter it to it your liking. I do not recommend this place during lunch hours (12:00-2:00) on weekdays because the service gets a bit slow and you usually end up waiting 30 minutes for your food. read more

We are so excited to have a Mod in Gainesville! The pizza is a nice, light option and I love the variety of toppings -- you can literally create a new pizza every time. And each additional topping is already covered in the price so you don't have to worry about costs adding up. If you haven't already, check out their milkshakes too; you can thank me later :) read more

Food is great. However, for a place that has such a cool, laid back atmosphere, the employees were very unfriendly. Giving it 3 stars for the food alone. Would give it 1 star based on the employee attitudes. read more

I've been to a different pizza chain on the West Coast that offers similar style of pizza and found MOD to be up to pair with that one. Very straightforward ordering process, good prices, and a large variety of toppings to select from to make your pizza reflect your mood and taste buds. Different sizes of pizza's available to fit your hunger level or to make you extra excited for leftovers in the morning. Ample amount of seating and a vintage/rustic look to the restaurant which I enjoyed as well. Fun place of a quick takeout stop or date night before a movie. Kid friendly too! read more

My friend recommended we go to Mod Pizza, being that she has been to one and similars in California. We went there today and I really enjoyed the selection. The pizza was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the decor and The ambience. The atmosphere was great. I think their current staff work really well together. read more

My kids love it, Mod has a very good pizza and All staff were very friendly and nice. Foods were delisious and good ckooked.

Very tasty pizza. My family is from Sicily and we visit just about every year. Mod's crust is very close to authentic. That super-expensive dough press they use is awesome and really helps make the magic happen. The place is a well-put-together assembly line of pizza goodness. It's not a five star restaurant. But it's not supposed to be. It's a nice pizza joint. It's also the best pizza you will find in a 20 mile radius. read more

The Gainesville area lacks great pizza options, but MOD does stand out for its endless selection and thin and crispy crust. Of course, MOD is a chain restaurant, but it doesn't pretend to be authentic Italian or New York style pizza. You can order unlimited toppings for a standard price (about $9), and I gotta say, the toppings are pretty stellar (especially roasted Brussel sprouts, broccoli, and spicy chicken sausage) and fresh. The only issue lies in the inconsistency- we ordered five pizzas, and one had really floppy crust. Might be good to ask for well-done if you like crispy pizza. Also has a great gluten-free crust if that's your thing! read more

Yummy! Pretty cool to go through and order your personalized pizza! Or you can select one of those suggestions! It quick and good!

After a long work week, ordered via phone for a curbside pickup. Why is my pizza BURNT?!!! And NO, I don't want to come back for a remake. I selected the curbside pickup for a reason!! And then the manager hung up the phone. read more

This is the best thin crust pizza in town. I love how I can add as many toppings as I want, and it's always the same price. I highly recommend a pesto drizzle at the end! The staff is efficient and professional, but also friendly. The leadership in particular inspires the employees to be passionate about their jobs, and it shows in each bite. I'll never have the same pizza twice. read more

I love MOD pizza! The staff is very nice and patient. They cook their pizza in a brick oven which gives it a wonderful taste. I'm dairy free, so I love the fact that they have dairy free cheese. They always ask if I want them to change their gloves which is very thoughtful. Here at MOD you can build your own pizza and add on as many toppings as you want without extra charge. They're inexpensive and you don't have to wait long for your pizza to be done. They also have salads, and milkshakes. I'm always in the mood for MOD! read more

This pizza is delicious! The unlimited pizza topping choices are plentiful and very fresh. The pizza is thin, and I thought at first it wouldn't be filling, but I was wrong. I couldn't even finish all of it even though I wanted to. I didn't get a salad, but tables around me had them and they looked very fresh as well, and in large bowls.
