I'm very disappointed to say I haven't been to this restaurant in a while and was craving a salad from here today only to not be greeted by a single employee, nobody acknowledged my husband and myself as these employees were standing right in front of us handling other work, the least that could have been said was "we will be right with you". Nobody seemed to care as we stood there for 5 minutes being unattended. This is not a good way to keep a business growing. Coming from a small business owner like myself, customer service is everything and the type of attention we received today was enough to make me never care to come back to this place of business again. I used to have a generally favorable impression of MOD Pizza but I haven't visited for a long time. The pizza was fine - totally as expected and I love the ability to customize to my heart's content. The staff were pleasant enough even though they seemed somewhat disorganized. However, I enjoy a glass of wine with my pizza and ordered a red (in a can? seriously?) When they pulled it from the refrigerator (who refrigerates red wine?) I switched to white, which was barely cooled. It was horrible! Never one to waste wine I ended up throwing it out - it was simply undrinkable and I'm not a wine snob. Very disappointing since it should have complimented an otherwise good pizza. If there's a next time I'll get a limited selection beer. read more

My family and I love this place. They are fast and we have never had a bad experience. They also don't skimp on the toppings and will add extra if you ask. My 4 year old is very picky but he loves their pizza with black olives and pepperoni. My favorite is the Dillon James! They also have a good ice tea selection =) read more

I'd choose this place over Dominos or what not every day! The workers are so very nice as well as the selection. I always go for the Casper one. The wait is just right every single time no matter how full the resturant gets. The atmosphere is lovely and warming and if you go there during the summer when it's warm, they even open up one side of the wall so you could sit on the high chairs staring outside while eating. The pizza was perfect, no overcooking or raw dough ever. Toppings fresh and has explosive flavor. The thin crust is a unexpected delightful add. Trust me, the mini pizza won't fill you up so get mod sized. Also I really like the icecubes from the vending machine for some reason... One time I did have to wait 20 minutes for a mini and was frustrated but was confronted by one of the smiling workers who kept apologizing on behalf of the crew and offered me a refund or a size up to mod and of course I chose a size up. Behold I got my pizza, larged, in about five minutes. Kudos to him, if he didn't do anything mentioned above I might have well left in a sour mood. This place was not worth the visit. Everything, from the food to the service, was terrible. First thing - there was a long line. Every table was filled and in order to get one you had to circle a table as another group was leaving like a hawk. Though we did manage to get one, that did not bode well for the rest of the experience. We ordered two pizzas and my mother ordered a Brussels sprout salad. The wait wasn't super long, which was a nice surprise given how crowded the restaurant was. But the surprise quickly turned to disappointment as they messed up the salad. There were no Brussels sprouts in the Brussels sprout salad. We had to return it the cook and what did they do? Cut one single Brussels sprout and put it into the salad. This was not discovered until after my mother finished the salad and had only had one bite of Brussels sprout. Now, as for the pizza: well, it was average at best. I did not enjoy my pizza and it was soggy and hard to pick up without the cheese oozing onto the plate and table. But the experience with the salad was really the nail in the coffin. If you like fast casual pizza where you get to see the entire process, I would recommend gusto over MOD any day of the week. read more

The name of the game here is speed. Where else can you get a custom pizza made in about 5 minutes? As for the pizza itself, yes, it tastes like a tombstone from the grocery store that was heated up. One night they accidentally over cooked our pizza and offered us the over cooked pizzas free of charge as well as remade our pizzas for us. They are friendly and fast. For the quality of pizza it is a good price. I feel like most fire pizza places over charge, here they do not! I had no idea this place was open in Gainesville, but I was surprised in a good way. Someone suggested we go there to eat, and I was curious. The best analogy I can make (not sure if others did too) is that it is Chipotle for pizza (sans ecoli, sorry, Chipotle). Since this place is new, I am sure the one thing that made me cranky will be worked out: the service is so. freaking. slow. We came in on a Wednesday around 5:30 for dinner, and there were 2-3 people ahead of us, but it was a good 10 min before we even got to place our order. In the typical "this is new" shuffle, I was grateful to turn around and see a line for days, and that I was no longer in it. Once the staff gets exceptionally good and quick, the line issue should go away. The food itself was very good. The pizza crust has sort of a naan/pita texture and taste, which is a welcome departure from the over-floured taste of normal pizza. The toppings (endless amounts) were fresh and tasted great as well. I wasn't brave enough (and the time crunch was contributing to being late somewhere so we took food to go) to create my own but I definitely plan to come back and try some things out. I did grab a mini caesar, and the dressing was thick but not too salty, and the size was generous for a "mini." I will most certainly return again soon and hope that I remember to grab some of that wine ON TAP, oh yes, ON TAP, folks. Woot! read more

Yesterday was the first time my husband and I have been to MOD pizza. Let me just say if you haven't been here you have to try it! I tried the #9 Caspian,which is BBQ chicken, onion, and Gorgonzola cheese. My husband had the Tyler, which i believe is red sauce, mozz cheese, Canadian bacon, pineapple, and bacon. We both LOVED it. I asked them if they would ever come out to the east coast, but they weren't sure. A few months ago when my husband + I found out they were coming to VA, at the promenade 5 minutes from us, we were ecstatic! It's THAT delicious, y'all. The first Mod Pizza in VA + it's 5 minutes from our house! They have different pizzas for you to choose from, but it's called Mod Pizza for a reason - so you can modify it. I like to make my own pizza. It's so, so good. And they have different sizes you can choose from - mini, Mod, and mega. The Mod size is definitely enough for one person; that's the size I get. But it can also comfortably feed two people if they aren't too hungry to begin with. Try this place out. You won't regret it! read more
