Pizza is a fresh new BTO concept, ordered a baseline pepperoni, mushroom and added sundried tomato. It would have been better if more generous toppings given and bottom of pie shell was not so burnt. The days of grilling or baking with black grill marks are about over due to cancer causing toxins. I will try again but ask that it not be burnt at all. The reviews were right. Quick tasty and you build it the way you want. We tried four different pizzas and shared. Everything was well prepared and the ingredients were fresh. Staff was pleasant and happy to show us how it worked since it was our first visit. They had almost too many staff but I'm sure that was to ensure a great quick experience for what is sure to be a lot of first time customers. Love how you can choose how many, which, and how much of various fresh toppings. The "mod" size is just right for one, occasionally with a slice left for later. So ample. Loved the Dominic (held the onions, added artichoke). Others got three-pepper with chicken, and a pepperoni with fresh mushrooms and olives. Loved the mini size - perfect for kids or for a snack. Thinking we'll come for multiple pies one day and divide them all up so we can get a taste of everything. Fountain drinks are wonderfully different from the usual: blackberry lemonade, yum! Drove to the end of civilization to check out opening day at the new digs in Virginia! They do not disappoint! Same great attitude and service. I come to the Gainesville area often for food because the selection in Manassas is very dull. This place is my go-to after picking up my son from daycare. Tried a few different pizzas from there, don't think I have a favorite yet because I like them all so much. Each time I go I there's a very sweet girl named Ariel who helps me decide what to get. In my opinion, customer service plays a MAJOR Role. It gives a customer a good or bad view and mood for the restaurant. I think that is something MOD Pizza lacks. I came to MOD after hearing the endless praise my brother gave this place. When I entered, the line was at the door. It took about a good 35 minutes to reach the menu and another five minutes for someone to take my order. I was a bit overwhelmed about the menu. There were a lot of options! I feel that if the paper menus were to be near the door rather than right under the menu board, I would have given this place three stars. People were blocking the board which made it hard to read the board from a distance. When I reached the assembly line, I was clueless on what to order. I didn't know if I wanted a Create Your Own (CYO) or if I wanted a suggested menu item. I decided on doing a CYO. The employees in the line were not that nice when you talked to them and most of them were very inattentive. I found myself having to repeat what I said. It basically ended in me having to take my cooked finished pizza back and them having to add the missing ingredient. When they made the correct pizza, it was actually pretty good. The pizza is what brought my review to two stars. I would recommend that when you get a drink to stick to the sodas. None of the teas or lemonade were good. Would I recommend this place? On a day that isn't crowded, sure. On a day when it is crowded, probably not. I would only recommend this place to someone who could overlook non existent customer service. read more

I really enjoy the food at MOD Pizza. It's great to construct your own personal pizza right in front of you, everyone has the same flat-rate pizza and it tastes GREAT. On a pizza assembly line, obviously there is chance for cross contamination between different ingredients. I understand it happens, but I really feel that the employees at this specific location do NOT try to prohibit that at all. Every single time my pizza has remnants of the pizza made before mine. Last time I went with my boyfriend, a customer put corn on his pizza before my boyfriend, then we sat down to eat and my boyfriend had corn on his pizza, and since my pizza was made after my boyfriends i had like six pieces of sausage laying on my crust. I'm a vegetarian :). So that sort of thing really does get on my nerves. Taking pride in your job really makes the difference and those employees couldn't give two hoots how the pizzas are crafted. Another thing is just standard customer service. We both had gotten the canned wine and my boyfriend puts them on the counter to purchase. This girl with braided pig tails comes to check us out and she examines the two cans heavily, eyes my boyfriend up and down and blurts out "So who's the other can for?" while i'm standing right next to him (!). I made myself known and she YELLED at us for our IDs. I really don't understand why she was so flustered at us buying alcohol we are over age after all! Train your employees to keep their heads in stressful situations so they don't get laughed about after because she was stressing for no reason other than alcohol consumption taking place. In summary, love the food, employees need more guidance. read more

Enjoy going to this quick and delicious pizza spot. The staff is friendly. I eat gluten-free and like their individual gluten-free pizza with as many choices as I care to have on my pizza. The fixing bar includes Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes. The staff is always willing to fix an olive oil cup for dipping the crust. Place is packed so pick the time you come wisely. I came around 5pm and there was a ton of people coming and going. Even though there was a line...it goes by quick. Have an idea of what you want...order taking is super fast. Don't expect a ton of toppings...they place the right amount. The crust is thin and comes out of the oven with a nice crisp around the pizza. For small eaters the 6" inch mini is the right size. The 11" inch pizza depending on your appetite you might have a slice left over. The Dominic is a white sauce with asiago, basil, sausage, red onions and tomatoes. Very good but a little salty for me...probably the asiago cheese. The Mad Dog is a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, meat and pepperoni...also very good. The Ella which is a seasonal pizza was outstanding...white pizza with spicy sausage, cilantro, mozzarella, dried tomatoes, lemon wedge, red onion and Sriracha sauce. Who would of thought a lemon wedge and Sriracha sauce would work but it does. Please save room for cinnamon strips. They are not your normal strips and are extremely tasty with the strawberry dip. A nice light dessert after a very tasty pizza. read more
