I haven't cared for MOD in the past, but they redeemed themselves this past weekend. I got the Mega crust and it was so soft and fluffy. They were generous with the toppings. My friend and I noticed one of the staff cough into his gloves and he threw it out immediately and washed his hands so we were actually impressed with that as weird as it sounds, but he practiced good hygiene so we appreciate that. If I could give zero I would but the guy cooking the pizza was actually okay. I came in with my family and stated we had never been here before, the woman standing there just continued to stare at us so we just started looking at the menu to figure it out. Once we decided, my daughter started ordering, the same straight faced woman, literally no emotions asked my daughter rudely if she wanted her sauce spread out... uh DUH! At this point I look at my family and say "I'm fine to go somewhere else if yall want to, we can walk out" at this moment another young lady comes around to help her out and the straight faced woman decided to actually add a smile to her attitude. Once we got our orders paid for, all 12 tables in the place were dirty. I've been to Mod many times, and usually I've had no issues. I'm not sure what was going on this time but the pizzas were very backed up with an empty oven. I imagine maybe there was an issue with the oven. They began cooking a few minutes after I payed,not a big deal to be honest, just took longer than usual. I asked for spinach after my pizza was done as I don't like it cooked, unfortunately the spinach they placed on my pizza was old and wilted as seen in photos, so I just removed it myself and had my pizza without it. The service was good, the ambience was fair and clean. Just hoping they monitor the freshness of the ingredients better but mod is delicious so this experience isn't a dealbreaker for me. 3.5 this time tho read more

For those of you who may have read some of my other reviews, you might have noted that I don't give high praise lightly - it needs to be earned in my opinion. I tend to be especially hard on restaurants because, being a skilled amateur chef myself, I truly dislike going to a restaurant, eating their food, looking at the bill, and thinking how if I had made this meal myself, it would have tasted sooo much better and been sooo much cheaper (plus, my daughter is now old enough to do the dishes :). Furthermore, when it comes to pizza, when I was in college, I made and delivered pizzas from 1995-1996 for two of the largest national pizza restaurants. So, ladies and gentlemen, please take it to heart when I inform you that MOD Pizza absolutely blew my mind today. Oh my goodness. Just wow. They did so many things so incredibly well that I honestly don't know where to start. I guess that I'll begin with their website (my order was a delivery). The MOD Pizza website was easy to navigate. For my pizza, I simply chose Create Your Own, was pleased by the crust options, and then was truly impressed by the extensive list of sauce, cheese, meat, veggie, and finishing sauce options. For a side I chose a cheesy garlic bread with the Sri-Rancha sauce. I attached a snip of my order confirmation email where I censored information which I thought Yelp would object to being shared (i.e. prices), so that you can see what I ordered, along with photographs of the food that was left a few minutes ago when I began writing this review. Folks, like I said, I'm a highly skilled amateur chef who delivered (and made) pizzas professionally from 1995-1996, and makes them from scratch for his family often these days (and in an eclectic variety of styles - neapoliton all the time as a family favorite, Detroit-style deep dish, Chicago-style deep dish, restaurant-style pan pizza, and hand-tossed style, all with homemade pizza doughs and homemade sauces) --- SO WHEN I SAY THAT THE MOD PIZZA THAT I ATE TODAY WAS ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY THE VERY BEST COMMERCIAL PIZZA AND CHEESESTICKS THAT I HAVE EVER HAD, AND BY A COUNTRY-MILE, PLEASE TAKE THAT TO HEART. It was mind-blowing! I've driven past this restaurant for years now, and never ordered or dropped by before, because I had never heard anything about them. My goodness folks, we need to advertise for them more by word of mouth - it will benefit both them and us. Furthermore, folks, while I can't provide specific details about pricing, their prices are amazingly affordable, and they don't charge extra for toppings - you may add as many as you'd like. And here's where the rubber meets the road - usually, when lots of toppings are requested, a pizza company with either limit you, or add them to the point that the pie doesn't bake properly. As you'll see in my order, I requested an extensive list of different toppings, and MOD Pizza added them - but they added them masterfully so that the pie wasn't overloaded, which takes skill that you don't usually find at a pizza joint. Again, bravo! Nothing is ever perfect, though, we can all improve, and I do have one, but important, constructive feedback for MOD Pizza - stop outsourcing your delivery. They use a common delivery company, who many of us despise because they're so expensive and typically don't deliver well (such as me, today, on this order). If MOD Pizza could develeop their own delivery staff, as their national competitors do, they would become the gold standard of pizza companies. OVERALL PERFORMANCE, HOWEVER = BRAVO!!! Food was great as always but the two employees who were working were running all around being very loud and basically playing. They were hiding things from one another and not paying attention to their jobs. One other couple went up several times asking about when their pizza would be ready. If I didn't know what better I would say that they burned this crust this badly on purpose. I should've checked it before I left but who expects a pizza crust to be this overcooked? Where are the quality standards? They put this in a box and sold it like it was the best pizza to ever come out of their oven. Most people I speak to seem to think Mod has a pretty good product but I can't tell. The smell and taste of this pizza was very off putting. I'm glad people enjoy it and hope they continue to be successful but I will never step foot in Mod again. It was my first visit and I don't need another. If I was reviewing this location a year ago, I would have had to give 0 stars out of 3 for food because it was inconsistent in how it was made and how wrong the order was. Lots of toppings, minimal toppings, small pizza, odd pizza shapes, missing sauces, etc... It has become better but it will take time to earn back another star because I do have to say when it is made correct, it is good pizza. Service/Staff (1/1) - Another one where if I did this a year ago, it wouldn't earn the star. Placing an online order is typically the way to go, but boy did they mess up a lot and even lose a pizza after I watched them make it again because they lost the first one they made! That said, it seems like the staff has a bit of turnover and my overall experience for the last 6 months has been a pleasant one. Location (1/1) - It is a convenient location with all the shops around including the Outlet Mall across the way. Sometimes getting out of the parking lot can be a pain, but overall not complaints here on the location. Its well kept and there is plenty of outdoor seating as well for groups and pets. read more

If I wanted to describe this location in 1 word it would be, SAD. The employees seem to not care and have an attitude when they speak to you. They were also arguing amongst each other and just didn't provide good vibes. MOD Pizza is usually good, but unfortunate this location seems to have internal issues that eventually end up hurting their paying customers. It also was a mess at the line when telling them what toppings you want on your pizza. With so many other restaurants in this plaza, next time if we decide to eat in that area, we will just visit elsewhere. read more

I start ordering my own pizza (mod unlimited toppings) and I want to order a kids meal for my son, all I wanted was for her to add broccoli on his pizza, she then gives me an attitude saying "well then that wouldn't make it a kids meal" like ok?? Then just don't give my kid broccoli, he'll be fine with pepperoni. I then order a Greek salad and she asks if I want to add anything and I say "yes please, salami" she then proceeds to add a lot of salami to my salad for no charge. So you're telling me you're adding meat to my salad, but can't add 6 pieces of broccoli to a KIDS pizza?? Whatever, I pay and pick the pizzas up and the girl cutting the pizza is so miserable working there cutting the pizza with the worst attitude which made eating a big mess, only 3 Parmesan and 3 chili pepper for 2 pizzas. After a while I go back to the counter (since I'm only given 3 tiny packets of Parmesan) and I stood there for what seemed like 3 minutes, employees walking past me like they're blind. One girl even goes "alright I'm out" as she's walking past me. Then I finally get helped and asked for more Parmesan. She said "how many, 2?" Is this coming out of the employees pockets???? Are they getting lazy to restock the Parmesan and chili packets?? I said "3,4?" Employees gossiping in the back instead of tending to customers. After they came outside again from gossiping they take the pizzas out and they're all crispy (I know because again, I stood there for a while observing everyone). As a restaurant employee myself I couldn't believe how poorly these people were preforming. Safe to say I won't be coming back to this location, every other mod I go to I enjoy my experience, but this time it was ruined by the crappy employees. This happened 7/12 at around 2:00 pm. If I can give this location zero stars I would. It's been time and time again issues with our orders at this location. From ordered pizzas being 20 minutes late past the order time, to completely wrong pizzas on the order. There's been times where I've had to wait the 20 minutes and then they even come out with the COMPLETE WRONG PIZZA(S). This time was no explanation. Get there and 2/3 of our pizzas were made, wait 20+ minutes for the 3rd one to get done, and to get all the way home to find out one of the pizzas is completely and utterly wrong. Not even in the same hall park. This location needs to get their act together as this is a constant reoccurring issue. read more

After the dog park it was late too cook.. I ended up ordering online on my way over.. I ordered the pizza salad with chicken and chicken sausage. When I got there the young man just gave me a box and the salad was on top. No bag with napkins, plastic utensils.. nothing. What's the big deal with pineapples on a pizza anyways? The whole point of pizza is that it's extremely versatile and allows you a variety of preparations. MOD Pizza is one of those custom pizzerias that offers the ultimate in pizza customization. MOD Pizza which I assume stands for Modification Pizza (or Model of Diversity for progressives) starts with the pizza size. Once you get that, you can get whatever pizza sauce and toppings you want. The sauces are different and if you're adventurous the pesto is pretty good. They have some default options (veggie, meat, margarita, etc.) but the magic is when you create your own. They have a ton of toppings available. I got a meat lover's pizza... with pineapple. I immediately drew the consternation of my friends when they realized I ordered my pie with ananas comosus like I ordered my steak well done. The thing is pineapple is an excellent choice. The sweetness cuts through the savory portions of the pizza. The acidity gets baked into the pasta giving it even more flavor. These empirical facts get lost on pineapple naysayers. The pizzas get thrown in this huge "brick" oven. I'm not going to quibble about it but I have to confirm if it is. Regardless, the pizza comes out piping hot and fresh. They'll cut the pizza for you and your off. The pizza was really good. The crust is airy but still has some substance to it. The fresh ingredients make a huge difference in the flavor. Although quite meaty, the pizza was still not overwhelming. You can literally taste the qualitative difference in the ingredients, from the crust to the pineapple. Oh, did you know that pineapples are tropical fruits that are rich in vitamins, enzymes and antioxidants? They may help boost the immune system, build strong bones and aid indigestion. And, despite their sweetness, pineapples are low in calories. And they are great for sexy time. (Yelp doesn't allow citations so I'll forgo the MLA stylings and just tell you its on the internet so its true.) As a pizza connoisseur, I can say that this is one of the best slices from a chain and can rival some of the pizza joints I've had in NYC. As a garlic enthusiast, the location I went to had it in a shaker which impressed me. The service was amazing too. I looked up the company online and was impressed by the company's culture and dedication to employee empowerment. I finished my pizza, endured a bit of ridicule, then met my boo and we had amazing sex afterwards. Pineapple baby. read more

This is a horrible Mod location. Of the 5 people working the counter none of them knew anything about the menu items. When ordering one of their standard pizzas they continually asked what we wanted on the pizza because they couldn't remember what came on it. I also ordered a pizza salad which seemed like the first one they have ever done. At the checkout counter the cashier encouraged us to join their rewards program and when I told him we were not happy with the service and wouldn't be back he just said "ok". They greet everyone that walks through the door and not only that but I've heard several people greeted by name, so they remember customers. The employees at this particular mod are very down to earth and personable. I enjoy coming here because I have the ability to create any type of pizza with ANY toppings without breaking the bank.
