Always a treat here. I love how bright a clean this place is. Got the taro, strawberry cream, chocolate, mango,funnel cake, caramel churro. This was a quick stop and I had a 1/2 dozen mochinut. I love these chewy mochi donuts!
My friend has been talking this place up as she said it's a must stop when in the plaza shopping at Rocket a Go Go. Today I finally stopped by with her to experience, and loved it! The staff member was super friendly and even advised of their current offer of a free original when you spend $10+. This allowed me to try both a drink and food item, which I enjoyed both! With the heat, I avoid dairy or heavier drinks so I went with a strawberry lemonade which was very refreshing for only $5! Love the cute murals on the wall for photos and it was cozy if you wanted to sip in the air conditioned building. I'll definitely return to try a milk tea in the future as they seem to have an amazing selection to try more items. Plus, a Yelp friend suggested their cold brew so I foresee a visit soon because I adore cold brew!
The texture of this donut is incredible. I ordered a funnel cake flavored one and it was sooo yummy. Will definitely be back!
The Tempe location of Mochinut was a vendor at the Lunar New Year Asian Food Festival in North Phoenix held on Saturday the 17th and I am ever so grateful! I ended up getting a 3 pack variety that included the original glazed, strawberry, and taro. I've never had Mochinut before so I figure ordering a single variety pack would be a good way to try it out. I couldn't discern any difference between this and a regular donut in terms of texture. It is definitely less sweet than a regular donut and keeps fresh longer - big pluses in my book. My 2 kiddos took 2 of the Mochinuts the evening I brought it home and I saved the last one for myself to consume 2 days later. The 2 day old Mochinut still tasted as fresh as the day I bought it. A regular donut would've been stale by now. I appreciate how the vendor had the variety packs ready to go so those who want it can pay and go right away. Due to being outside their storefront, they had very limited selections but this was still a great way to introduce their core product to the public who are new to them. The Tempe location I will happily carve out time to visit if I'm in the area. The closer location to me in Peoria is not related to the Tempe store and has disappointing reviews that scares me into not visiting lol. I may still visit anyway if I'm ever over in that area. Thank you to the vendor for the incredible service and making the trek out to this festival!
I love mochi donuts & boba tea, especially Mochinuts! I love the fun decor. The shop was super clean. I ordered three donuts and an Oreo custard donut ball. I was not a big fan of the donut ball. The chai donut was delicious, but the original is my favorite. They were airy with a good texture. The boba was a bit off the lychee jellies had an odd, almost rubbery, texture. I also got an original mozzarella on a stick with sweet and sour on the side. It's made to order and the cheese was ooey gooey - so delicious!!
If you're looking for a variety of treats that are not too sweet and that just hit the spot, look no further because this is the place to visit! We stopped by on Saturday around 11am and it was pretty busy. The location was easy to find and the plaza had plenty of parking. The employees were very friendly and gave us enough time to look over the menu. We ordered one Mochi Donut of each of the following flavors: Lychee, Okinawa Milk Tea, Melon, Original, Matcha, and Sugar. We ordered the following drinks: One thai tea with boba, one matcha tea with oatmilk, a strawberry lemonade, and a white peach tea with lychee. We also shared a hot dog which we ordered plain (on the outside) and for the inside we asked for half cheese and half sausage. The Mochi Donut's were delicious! They were soft - not crusty, flavorful, and we could actually taste each of the flavors we chose. These did not have a "greasy" taste like other ones I've tried at other shops. Here all the flavors had their own unique taste and all were very good. My favorite was the "original flavor" and the Okinawa Milk Tea. The white peach tea was perfect since it was soo hot out on the day we visited. The drink was refreshing and it was not overpoweringly sweet. Th e strawberry lemonade also hit the spot. It was cold and refreshing! The hotdog was another favorite of mine. The outside was crunchy / crispy and the yummy-ness was all in the inside.. The cheese was hot and gooey when I took my first bite. Then a few bites later, I was down to the sausage. The sausage was juicy, hot, and tasted really good! I want to say that the sausage was definitely my favorite part, yummy. The inside is super cute and it was very clean. They have a few chairs along the wall where you can sit and eat your treats. Each location is ran by a different entity so you ought to see a difference in the quality of the food and service if you visit a different location. I will most definitely be back soon. The flavors rotate and I can't wait to try some more! :D
I initially came cause I was craving some donuts. To my surprise they sold more than just donuts. I got the flamin' hot Korean corn dog filled with mozzerella, half dozen of assorted donuts, and lychee tea. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the Korean corn dog. So good! We will be back.
I'm nuts about mochi donuts! Made a stop one afternoon when a craving hit. Mochinut has two locations in the valley: Tempe and Peoria. This Tempe location is in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. I was the only customer at the time and was greeted right away. The friendly staff member was patient with me and answered all of my questions. I went with a half dozen with one of each flavor they offered that day: strawberry funnel cake, wildberry yogurt, Korean churro, original, pistachio, and chocolate pebbles. I also got an original K-dog for my son. Couldn't wait until I got home to try the donuts, so I tore off a mochi ball from each donut on my drive home. The mochi dough was perfectly chewy with a slight crunch on the outside. The flavors were subtle and complement the fried dough. Out of the six, my favorite flavor was the pistachio. My son enjoyed the donuts, too and his K-dog. However, the K-dog had very little meat. It took him 2-3 bites before getting any meat.
I had never had a mochi donut before but my cousin said I had to try it so here we are! We ordered a bunch of mochi donuts and 3 balls to share! Loved them, especially because they weren't too sweet! The custard ball was probably my favorite though! Yum!! The drinks were amazing too!! The strawberry one was a little too sweet (the kids loved it) but the grapefruit one was perfect if you like grapefruit. Got an original potato K-Dog with sriracha mayo and sweet chilli sauce, and an orange green tea with 50% sugar to go for my son! He's enjoying those as I type!! The owner was so sweet! Our family took over her shop! I told her we need one of these in Miami!! Both the donuts and the teas would be a big hit! If you're in Tempe, come check this location out.
The kids and I came here on a very very hot day. My car said 118F at one point. My kids enjoy donuts and the corn dogs so this was the place to go. We preordered and the donuts were ready when we got their. The person was making the drinks when we arrive. Given it was such a hot day; there was no other people in the store. I got the three piece mochi donut: raspberry funnel cake,chocolate pocky, and strawberry yogurt. Also Ordered a sparkling strawberry lemonade with popping strawberry boba, Assam milk tea, original corn dog and potatoes corn dog. All very delicious. Very cute and clean store. The person at the counter was friendly, nice and offered to take our pictures as she saw me doing a selfie. Would recommend and will come back.
I like the soft texture of the Mochinut. Doughnuts come in different varieties and this one is just my style. I don't like the bread variety. A traditional cake doughnut is okay. The Mochinut has a completely different texture than these two types of doughnuts. It is soft and chewy. If I had to pick a doughnut type most similar to it, I would say it is like a Krispy Kreme doughnut in terms of how light and airy it is. The frosting holds most of the flavor in the Mochinut. My favorite is the Hokkaido. They rotate flavors on a weekly basis. I would always go for a flavored mochinut over any of the non flavors ones or powdered sugar or plain glaze. Stores is just the right size for picking up a box of mochinuts to go. Not a lot of seating. Most people probably do take out.
Really cute store. The decoration and atmosphere was very fun and engaging. The staff were very polite and there was barely a line for so many people inside. We tried the strawberry mochi and the fruity pebbles mochi donuts. They were really good. Also nice to find out they are like half the calories as a traditional donut
I tried a Mochinut donut at a recent food festival, and they were so good I had to stop by the actual place the next day. 3 donuts were $9 which is pretty reasonable. The churro & caramel churro are my favorite, and the strawberry funnel cake was really good too, and I got the cookies & cream, which was too sweet for my liking but I'm still glad I tried it. The service was alright here, nothing special, but nothing horrible, mostly young college students working when I came. They have boba, Mochi donuts, and Korean corn dogs which I'm excited to try sometime. The place is clean, and has a little seating area and it was not busy when I went. A Mochi donut is made with rice flour and is so unique, chewy, and amazing I find it better than an actual donut lol
The Nutella mochi donut was out of this world. They change their flavors so follow their Instagram to see what they have. The frosting is rich but delicious. We also had their corn dogs and boba and both were delicious. I love that you can customize the sweetness because mine wasn't sweet at all and that's what I was going for. The Korean corn dog with the sriracha Mayo was chefs kiss. I had the half mozzarella half cheddar and it was one of the best Korean corn dogs I've had. It's small inside and there's a few seats. What a nice discovery with awesome and friendly owners running the show. This is my first time trying Mochi donuts, and I love the texture so much; crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. Yummy! Owner kindly explained that there are 6 flavors offered each day, and the flavors change every 2 days. In addition, I also got the half cheese/half sausage corndog coated with potato. I LOVE it! The potatoes really added great textural components to the corndog. I find myself liking the sausage half more than the cheese half, so next time I'll just get the sausage dog. Finally, they also offered a variety of drink menu. If you know my obsessions with tea drinks, I could not stop myself and ended up ordering the green tea with cheese foam. It did not disappont. Our CA team was here for 4 days training - Icy cold drinks & sweets & treats are definitely needed in this weather! So our wonderful Tempe team took us to this Mochinut who also serves DRINKS! WOW One stops fits all needs! (Plus easy parking and convenient location! Thank goodness in AZ afternoon!) My Lychee Ice Tea and my coworker's Cream Top Matcha Latte are so so good! MUST TRY! We appreciate they use REAL Ingredients & Fruit, instead of those powder mix! We also got few boxes of Mochinuts and K-hotdogs for the whole team. **Bravo for the nice and friendly customer service in the store - they gave us great suggestions and being really patient, THANK YOU!** - And the mochi donuts - honestly the freshness wins over most of the CA mochi donuts stores we've tried. You know they made it right! The varieties are interesting and yet, not disappointing at all! I LOVE the Sesame Mochinut, and our team also vote (fight~) for the Almond Chocolate mochinuts, but all surprisingly happy with the other 5 choices (see pic: Original, Milk Pebbles, Churro, Raspberry Funnel Cake, and of coz Sesame). K-hotdogs were so crispy with the unique K-dog texture inside! The seasoning are perfect! That result with we didn't get enough for everyone...oops. So end up we all head back to the store after 2 days, and got even more for our road trip back home (Because the friendly lady at the store inform us varieties will be updated every 3 days, that's just too exciting!!) read more
Read the positive reviews and ordered a delivery of goodness. Not my first time having mochi doughnuts-got the original, Thai milk tea & matcha latte. They were delicious, just the right amount of chewiness. The lychee tea was refreshing. This was the first time having a K-dog - got the original & potato original, they were filing & the sausage dog was tasty, the sriracha Mayo was the perfect dressing for both. Korean hotdogs have been trending for a while and I was curious and wanted to try one. When I saw in the reviews here that this place serves that AND mochi donuts, it became imperative for me to make a trip to Tempe to try them out. I ordered the half cheese / half hotdog potato dog -- mochi-battered hotdog covered with crunchy potato cubes; so tasty and fun to eat! I also ordered three mochi donut: matcha, chocolate, and Korean churro; the chewy texture and flavorful coatings made for an unforgettable dessert. I definitely will be coming back, especially since they feature different donuts on different days, and I certainly will be trying out their other Korean hotdog preparations. read more

OMG... Mochinut is da bomb!! When the first reviews of Mochinut hit Yelp, it was just a matter of time until we tried this new local mochi donut shop! As Phoenicians know, the second week of September means we still have temps near 110°, so I had a cold drink in mind... and lo and behold, their cold brew with foam top looked like it would hit the spot! Sure enough, that smooth brew was absolutely delicious! But we came for the donuts... so this is where the experience got even better! We ordered six mochi donuts (for $16.50, as of 9/8/21). We opted for two originals, two strawberry, one Korean churro, and one passion fruit. For me, they were all incredible... but the winners were the passion fruit, strawberry, and Korean churro (like a regular churro but they add black sesame!)! For those on a gluten-free diet (by choice or otherwise), mochi donuts are gluten-free, so pig out and enjoy (but please leave some for ME)! Came on a Sunday Morning and we were blown away!! We got 3 Piece Mochi Donut : Strawberry, Korean Churro, and Coffee flavor. We also got Aloe Yakult Drink and Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea - they were so refreshing and delicious. We ALSO got two corn dogs. One was the Hot Cheeto and Mozzarella and the other was the Loaded Potato and let me tell you they were heaven in a bite. We loved the drinks and food so much! This place really does a great job and the fact that everything was so good says a lot! Definitely can't wait to return :) read more
This was our first time coming to the storefront, we had an opportunity to try them at an event at the Japanese Friendship Gardens and couldn't wait to come back! They swap out their flavors, if you ever see the black sesame, GET IT!! That flavor is so good!! Of the flavors we tried, my ranking starting with the favorite is viet coffee, banana, rose lychee, ube. I love the take on the donut because the little pieces makes it easy to share and also these are much less greasy then traditional donuts. Service is friendly. We also each got a drink and they offer different sweetness levels. The store is small with some chairs and counters for sitting. read more

Mochinut is in the space where ShareTea used to be so although we were sad to see ShareTea go, we were super excited to drive by the location on our way to grocery shopping - so excited that on our way home we had to stop in and check out Mochinut. Love, love, love trying to things. I love mochi, and these donuts were so damn good. The woman behind the counter was very nice & patient as we stood there, debating what to get - and how much to get. We opted for a box of three donuts for $9, a mozzarella dog, and a couple boba teas. Actually, we forgot to ask for the boba so really we just got tea, but it was still good! We visit so many boba tea places that we just always "expect" boba to be in it already, so now we know, you have to request it. I like that many of the tea places now allow you to request less sugar & less ice. Anyway, the donut flavors rotate every three days, which is a great idea. We were happy to discover that even setting out overnight, the donuts were still soft & moist. We will definitely be going to Mochinut again. The only "bad" thing was that you couldn't buy just one donut, three was the minimum. But then again, is having MORE really "bad"??? LOL! read more
My son insisted we try this place. The donut flavors change daily and they only have 5 flavors each day. We got 1/2 a dozen. My son really enjoyed them, but they weren't my favorite. I got the half & half hotdog and my son the hot cheetos. We both got the Sriracha mayo for a dipping sauce. The hotdogs were really good and so was the dipping sauce. It was a soft opening. I wanted to check them out. If you just type "mochinut" in Google Maps you get the wrong location. It points you to the shopping mall next door. You need to type "mochinut tempe". The store was nicely done. The interior looked clean and bright. I arrived about 3:00 pm. I wanted to get some mochinuts, a hot dog and a drink. It wasn't very crowded, but they said the hot dog was going to take 25 minutes. Forget the hot dog. The mochinuts were 3 for $9.00. Got the strawberry, chocolate almond and macha mochinuts. Decided to not get a drink and take the mochinuts home. Tried paying with cash, but they only took credit cards. The mochinuts were pretty good. The slight mochi texture in the center gave the donut some chew versus a yeast based fluffy interior of a regular donut. The glaze were a little too sugary for me. Reminded me of a glazed donut. Usually I like european and asian pastries because it's not too sweet. read more

This is my second time visiting this place, I'd like to say: great job, Mochinut! Still very clean environment, friendly staff and cute decoration in the store. They have rotating six flavors every two days. It's always hard for me to make decision so I decide to have them all. One thing I am very happy about is the donut is still warm when I get it and the texture also the chewiness level is exactly what I like. Highly recommended the flavor for Original, Korean Churro, Hokkaido Mike Tea and Almond Chocolate. Last but not the least - cream top matcha latte - the best matcha latte I've ever had in US. Too full to have the k-dog, will definitely have it the next time. read more

The donuts are not freshly made. They have all the donuts pre-made sitting on the racks, the donuts taste like a day old since it's just sitting on the racks waiting to be boxed. You also have to order a minimum of 3 donuts, which is obnoxious. I also ordered the hot Cheetos corn dog. It was tasty, but it took a long time to prepare and I also do not like that they place the sauce on top of the corn dog, instead of having it on the side. The sauce will cause the corn dog to be soggy. read more
For a doughnut place they aren't open for breakfast, and for an entree, they aren't open for dinner. It's hard to eat here. I think they make all the dogs fresh, which is nice but also takes a few minutes. I wanted to share a doughnut with a friend because I wasn't sure if I'd like it. But you have to buy the doughnuts in a batch of 3. I wasn't sure I wanted one but I was sure that I didn't want three. The drinks were gorgeous and the hotdogs were genuinely good. But this place is so inconvenient, I probably won't come back. read more

Wow mochinut has ruined regular donuts for me. So delicious!!! These are so pillowy soft and chewy in the center. A must for mochi lovers. Nutella and ube are my favorites so far! Will definitely be back! read more

It's what everyone says I'm the reviews. They are a tad on the expensive side. A lot of people are comparing it to Mister Doughnut in Japan and I have to say this one is a lot lighter in the dough but the flavoring is there and not overwhelming in the icing or cookie crumbles on top of it. It's a pretty good ratio frosting to dough. It's a lot lighter to normal doughnuts but it will still fill you up quick! What's nice it's easy to share since you can break them apart easy! Teas are better pricing and go perfectly with the doughnuts and of course you can adjust sweetness as you like. The inside is very open and a lot of natural light with many photo opportunities but very packed with people since there's no dinning area. Overall great place and airy dough and sweet frosting is worth a try, but pricing is what brings it down for me doesn't match the quantity of what you are paying for. read more

Family visit in AZ and tried couple mochinut donuts. By far, this location's mochinut donuts tasted so much better than the one located inside 99 Ranch. In fact, the donuts quality is comparable to any top notch mochinut in LA. Further, the drinks are made with real fruits, not those generic fruit flavor cancer induced powder stuffs used by other stores. Lastly, I am impressed with store employee (or owner?). She provided some good suggestion and was very patient and friendly toward customers. read more
My sisters, mom, and I were able to try this new mochi doughnut place yesterday~ The inside was very cute and decorated very well! It is a very tiny space with not too much seating, so if you do want to stay and eat make sure to go during the non-busy times. My favorite flavor was black sesame, not that sweet a little more bitter! I wish they had the matcha flavor when we were there but they rotate their flavors. Not sure how often as their Instagram only gave flavors for the weekend. I also got their green tea with cream top which was pretty tasty. However, if you have a different boba/tea spot you like to go to, just go there instead. The drink was nothing special and a little expensive. In total you will have to spend a lot if you want doughnuts, corn dogs, and a drink. Also, make sure to eat these doughnuts fresh! They are perfect mochi doughnuts, very chewy and light when you first eat them, but they do not last if you want the same kind of texture the next day. Overall I would go again! There are not a lot of mochi doughnut places in Arizona, so this definitely satisfies the cravings! I also really want to go back to try a corn dog! read more

We came across this place since we were in the area on a Sunday afternoon! They had a limited variety in flavors for the mochi donuts, which we don't mind since we're not picky eaters. However that Is something to keep in mind. We got three mochi donuts and a Thai Tea, which was delicious. The customer service was also good! read more

Really good! Super interesting texture for a donut, something everyone needs to try. As soon as you walk in it smells amazing, like a stand at the local fair. The flavor selection is very wide for all of their products, really something for everyone. I got 2 KDogs and 3 donuts (they sell in packs of 3,6,12). They also offered a meal deal, I didn't partake in it though. The Pros: Korean Dogs really good, super yummy cheese and the hotdog and spicy link had great flavor plus I thought was bigger than Two Hands. Also the donuts had really good rich flavors, total flavor bomb with a chewy texture. UBE: Tastes just like it/ similar to rich vanilla custard. Korean Churro: Tasted like sesame seeds and sugar. Glazed: Classic The cons: The donuts are made in the morning I'm assuming so they're cold (microwave them). Also I wish they would offer the option to buy just one donut. Plus the menu should have some pictures, to make ordering easier. read more

I ordered three of the mochinuts and they were so delicious. I odered the kit kat, mango, and churro ones. I recommended staying away from the chocolate ones as the kit kat one was my least favorite. The lighter flavors were the best as you could taste the delicious batter as well. The mango was my favorite by far and I would have loved to try even more of their flavors. The texture is what set mochinut apart from other donuts as it has a chewier texture while still being light. They are served in a cute box and you can order in pairs of three. read more

We needed a sweet treat after a long days driving and before we settled into our hotel. As soon as I saw Mochinut on Yelp, we knew right away we had to go get us some. As to not over do it, we only got 3. Wishing I had gotten more for snacking on later though. We chose the triple chocolate, original and ube flavored Mochinuts. How do I describe them... they have a crispy outside and chewy inside. It's not like a traditional donut in its texture. The shape is like little donut holes but connected--perfect for each bite. The flavors were good. The original flavor could use more powdered sugar for my tastes but still very good. My favorite was the triple chocolate. We also ordered their OJ with Yakult (an Asian probiotic digestive aid drink). It was refreshing. Let me mention the cups they served it in... it's a good thick plastic cup that can definitely be reused! I saved mine and will be taking it home.
