After a long climbing trip, I was really hoping for a better experience here. Let me start off by saying that my complaints have nothing to do with Utah alcohol laws. True they can't brew beer as strong as other states but that's not the problem at Moab Brewery. The advertising and commercialization of this place was a real turn off. When you walk in, there's a gift shop selling Moab Brewery schwag which is adjacent to their captive gelato bar. On your right, you'll find a jeep cut in half length wise advertising some local jeep tour agency. When you get to your table, you'll be greeted with two wooden nickels redeemable for a buck off at the schwag shop. In the center of your table, you'll find a little flip stand that has a series of greasy laminated quarter sheets of paper advertising more ways you can spend money at the Moab Brewery and around town. There's more but I think you get the picture. With the bombardment of advertising, I felt like I was sitting in the middle of an infomercial and they should be paying me to be there, not the opposite. As for the beer, my friend's pale ale tasty like a brown ale with a hint of dishwashing soap. My IPA was devoid of hops flavor and aroma but at least it didn't taste soapy. If you had asked me three years ago, I would have rated this place a two.... This trip, we decided to give Moab Brewery another chance. Overall, the place is a decent option while in the area. Beer: we sampled everything, it's what we do. (p.s. Fun Utah laws basically make it so they can't actually do flight all at once. However, they offer tasters of beers and you can each order two tasters at a time... So really it's not a problem.) Most were just okay, we liked the Derailleur and the Johnny's IPA the best. Food: he had a burger and onion rings, I had pasta (I don't know... it sounded good after the hike...). Both were fine. (My pasta was oddly underseasoned/flavored considering it involved some sort of a pesto cream sauce...) Huge portions, decent, did the trick. Service: no complaints, I thought it was great. Atmosphere: sat out on the covered patio, it was actually really nice! In conclusion: A decent option for refueling while in the area! p.s. Only had beer - so can't comment on the food. Service was good and he knew his stuff. Big enough to find a table. When we left, there was a car with two dogs roasting in it - just one slightly cracked window Parked in the sun - 92 degrees. Came here for happy hour/ beer. Beer is mediocre, but their 50 cent wings on a weekday during happy hour were a great deal! The beer wasn't strong, but I learned that their stronger alcohol beer is bottled, not on draft. Overall pretty satisfied with this restaurant in terms of price/ food. This brewery is a must if you are in the MOAB area. It's the most happening restaurant/bar in town, and hands down, the best craft beer in the city. After an active day or hiking, biking or rafting, this watering hole is the place to go for delicious food and beer. The only downside is that is doesn't stay open past 10pm (which is common in Utah). read more

Went with family of 5 (2A, 3 C). Atmosphere is good, service was prompt. Used coupon from one of the tourist rags which was accepted w/o issue (free appetizer w/3 adult meals). Food was served quickly as they were about 40% full at 4:30 in the afternoon. I had the Jack Daniels Burger which was good. The onion rings were OK, not very hot when delivered. The other food that we ordered was food as well. My daughter really liked the ravioli. The beer was excellent. Both my wife and I had a glass of Johnny's IPA. It was delicious. The only problem was that I drank it down so fast that my glass went empty and not once during the meal did the waitperson ask me if I desired another, which I would have in an instant. Building on that point, the service was OK, nothing special. On the way out, we had some Italian Ice cream which was excellent albeit very expensive IMHO. read more

I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed this place! It's one of our favorite places here in Moab. We "discovered" this place the 1st time we came down here. Hubby likes the beer selection & to my great surprise, I love, love, love their in-house root beer!! I always order the root beer & also get a growler to take home on our way out of town! It's that good!! The only other root beer that I love in UT is Brigham's Brew. Can't really pick a fave from these two. But back to Moab Brewery, the people are always friendly, just be prepared for a long wait! This year's visit is just only with my hubby, our teen was/is spending it with his friend. So our wait was only 35 minutes, it can sometimes be a lot longer then that!! It's that popular & worth it. Aside from getting the beer & root beer, we always get different dishes, depending on what we feel like that night. Tonight (10-15-15) I got the blacken tilapia sandwich w/fries & coleslaw (which was an extra charge). My sandwich was so much better than the BLT one I had last night (10/14/15). The onion rings were good, sort of greasy, but they were onion rings! 3.5 star Hubby decided to get the Nachos w/pork verde on top. It "looked" good, but it didn't have the flavor that he was hoping for. It came out w/a side of sour cream, salsa (which again was so much better then our 10/14 meal) and beer cheese soup!! The soup was SO GOOD!!! I could eat just the soup next time!! 3 stars We always stop by here for dinner, sometimes for lunch (not in the same day, mind you). 1st thing's 1st, they actually brew quality beers here. The Johnny's IPA is delicious. They were out of the black imperial, which I was really looking forward to trying, but oh well, next time. Next, they have a worthy menu, with many options & not just options, but exceptional options. I went with the smoked salmon salad. It was a huge piece of salmon on top & was delicious. My wife had spinach gazpacho salad. It came with cornbread & the cornbread was phenomenal. My kids had the buffalo wings & I tried a couple of those and was impressed. Our server was polite enough & tended to our needs just fine. The food came out quick. All in all, I was impressed. I left with 3 4 packs of their can beer (the nut brown, johnnys IPA & their red eye IPA) & I'm looking forward to drinkin'em with pals this weekend. read more

Ugh. Disappointing. Touristy. Ridiculously long wait times. Better food and beer elsewhere. Came here b/c of the reviews. Tasted 5 beers (at 65 cents each!) before settling on 2. The only decent beers are the red and the stout -- and the stout is more like a traditional brown ale; the MB brown is like drinking colored water... i.e., no flavor, no body, just blah. I ordered the pistachio "encrusted" chicken with raspberry habanero sauce and my husband got the honey-almond "encrusted" chicken. First, and foremost, the title of the entrees are misleading b/c neither dish was encrusted -- which means the entire breast is rolled in the nuts and cooked, so it's almost like a fried, battered coating. Not these. Both items were plain grilled chicken breasts drizzled with the sauce (raspberry or honey) then sprinkled with the raw nuts on top. There was nothing encrusted about these chicken entrees. The service was fine, but not friendly. And, the only reason I think their business is booming is b/c of their marketing - and that they advertise other local businesses in their restaurant via displays of merchandise. If you are a craft beer lover, you won't love these. Instead, go to Zax and get a pitcher of Polygamy Porter (Wasach Brewing) for $14 and their all-you-can-eat pizza/salad/soup deal for $13. Or, better yet, go to Moab Burger/Atomic Lounge on the north end of town close to Arches where everything is organic, grass fed, homemade - and ALL of their craft beers on tap are outstanding. read more

Food is decent had the Cajun chicken sandwich and the wife had the fish and chips. Both were good. Beer on the other was lack luster and needs help in the flavor department. As as an example the hefe had little to no banana and clove flavor. It has so much bitter hops in it that it tasted like an ESB! The stout lacked any real rosty flavor and tasted like it was watered down! Just a typical micro brew... Let's make IPA's that will kick you pants and hope that will kill your taste buds! The beer is decent but nothing special. Waitress was great and service was good but the food is pretty terrible and mediocre at best. I had the impossible burger so can't complain there it's exactly what you expect but the Fixins on it were nothing to make it special and I've had better when the toppings make the impossible burger unique. The burritos are terrible. Whitest processed tortilla you can imagine with filling that is bland and tasteless. Two of our table had the chicken verde burrito and both agreed it was minimally edible. Another in our group had fish tacos which were basically just batter in crispy shells--just awful. It was like they never had a burrito or tacos before Tri tip sandwich was fair. Great beer, Great food and great prices! Yes it is worth the wait for a seat...or belly up to the bar. I suggest the Pilsner and IPA beers and also the Furnace wings...if you like spicy chicken wings. The BBQ combo was great too. The service was good...and it was crazy busy. I would say they need to add another bartender or 2. The also have a great brewery store...great for souvenirs and gifts...you can buy beer to go as well as many cool souvenirs...all for a reasonable prices. read more

Great food and atmosphere, no complaints on that! Only three stars for the rude waitress named Kristi. Service during the meal was OK, so she was given an OK tip. As we were getting gelato after checkout she came up to us and very rudely asked us why we didn't give her more money, saying she only makes $2 an hour so we are obligated to tip more. She was pretty loud and aggressive. She then went over to the bar and started loudly complaining to the bar tender and pointing at us. I get it's a tourist town so she probably won't have to see customers again, but if I were this restaurant I would consider replacing her with someone who understands how to work in customer service. read more
