As far as the dining area- The restaurant was spacious, composed of neatly lined tables and chairs with their centerpiece luncheonette bar gracing the room. Their al fresco arrangement was remarkable- with their lighter hued blue and green colored metallic seats and tables quietly lining the corner of Menahan street. A softboi haven. I imagined this to be a type of restaurant where a newlywed Mormon couple in the Great Plains would run. A place where pleasantries and support for one's neighbor is what mattered. "Another delicious sandwich, Hezekiah. See you guys in church." but truthfully, I felt a bit sour overriding my preference for the reliable in favor for the novel. A half chicken over yellow rice with plantains might have been the better option for my pocket, palate, and my need to protein max. But woe is me. Regardless, I'll have to respectfully pass on seconds at the Salty Lunch Lady's.

I enter the premises and is immediately welcomed by the attitude of the female cashier. I genuinely felt bad for the kind man she was speaking to cause all he wanted was his order that didn't go through because their WiFi was down. Moving on I go to order the tomato soup I hungrily drove miles for to find out they are out. I was slightly disappointed but what pushed me to the brink was the woman's venomous comment after about not knowing when they were going to get soup. I'm sorry? I just wanted to know... Furthermore she proceeds to blankly stare at me as if I just cursed her entire existence in Latin. My friend also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which he thoroughly enjoyed. One of the best oyster HH spots I've come across, because it seems to be harder finding good ones lately. Would definitely come back to try the other seafood dishes.

It didn't disappoint! Nice fresh slices of smoked salmon, along with tangy cream cheese made the world right again. I can see why NYC is famous for this treat as it's worth trying if you haven't and we definitely tried it again in those couple days while in the area. Bonus is that we found parking right in front of this great spot!

The atmosphere is calm the music isn't loud it's at the right volume. They except cash, credit card and Apple Pay. Come by and try out there bagels you can't get any more New York than this place. I recommend trying the bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. For those who don't eat pork, they do have beef bacon here for a dollar more. If you're a person like me that likes to have a good breakfast on the go. I recommend an everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese and hot sauce with a coffee.

The employees at the register were incredibly friendly, and those in the prep area were working fast! I got a sausage, egg and cheese - but substituted the cheddar for scallion cream cheese (at a 1.75 up charge). The egg was fluffy, the sausage had good flavor but unfortunately the cream cheese was essentially a condiment - spread incredibly thin and not worth the extra. Good to know for future. Not a ton of seating, most people took their goods to go. Would certainly return!
