No kids menu for breakfast so we paid full price for a 5 year old who ate 3 bites or eggs. With all the competition for breakfast this would not be my first choice. I love this place and I don't want to have to wait because you guys know it has great food and a classy/homey feel. *The Kentucky Brown, the PB/MARSHMALLOW/BANANA pancakes, Choc Chip Pancakes, Roast Pork Sandwich, and Oatmeal Encrusted French Toast are all solid choices. *They like cash more than credit, if you are the type who wants to help a small business. *NY / PHI have places like this. Now there is one in Bethlehem too which may as well have been the type of place you'd see the Sex in the City crew having their weekend brunch...yea....it's that kind of feel...but with really good food. *Take your girlfriend / boyfriend / partner here. We had a delicious brunch today. The quinoa burger was very tasty. Paired with a side of corn and bean salad it was a perfect meal for me. Went back to Mitzi's for another Sunday brunch. The setting was still warm and inviting and the overall environment was well attended. However, we did have a different experience during this visit. We were greeted by a different waitress who felt that it was appropriate to comment about each of our orders going as far as questioning an item that we ordered. It was uncomfortable. We ordered garlic fries as an appetizer. They were good, but not as crispy as our last visit. Some of the fries in the offering were very soggy. For entrees we ordered the open faced grilled cheese and tomato soup special. On paper, fresh mozzarella, roaster red paper, and spinach on a French baguette sounds perfect. In reality the spinach was not properly strained and the entire bread was soaked to a mush with spinach liquid. The flavors were strong but the bread was more or less inedible. On a positive note, the soup was fantastic. This will not prevent us from trying Mitzi's again, but we will likely wait longer till our next visit. read more

My friend and I heard so much about this place, we decided to check it out. Boy, I'm so glad we did! I was impressed with the vegan and vegetarian options they offer. We ordered our food and within 15 minutes, we were eating. It was delicious! We were there for quite a while, because we rarely see each other and we did not feel rushed at all - even though they had a continuous line at the door. I loved that! We have been here quite a few times and my review is based off a collective experience of all those times. Each visit, we are promptly seated and have hardly ever had to wait more than 30 seconds. Don't get me wrong, the place is consistently packed with patrons but we luckily get a booth without a wait. They are vegetarian friendly which makes me love this place so much. Quite a few veggie options!! We've had everything from the stuffed strawberry cheesecake French toast to the veggie burger to the Mac and cheese. Everything is delicious and well made. read more

I went to breakfast here with friends and we all had great food, served hot and fresh! Our waitress was great even though the place was very busy. She was always accommodating and kind. I ordered the brown sugar and oatmeal crusted french toast with a side of ham and a mint iced tea. It was delicious! My friends both got eggs Benedict and they loved theirs as well. This is about a three and a half. The waitress was great, and 3 out of the 4 meals we had were good. The last one had a burnt pancake. The seating needs to be changed up, though. When we went, all but 1 of the 4-tops were occupied by 2 people. They need more 2-top tables. read more

First I should say, I love this particular eatery, so if you are looking for an unbiased opinion, keep on trucking. Second I have included a picture of what might be the best burger and fries in the Lehigh Valley. My favorite dish for breakfast is a tie, either the oatmeal encrusted French toast, or the sausage gravy and biscuits. The sausage is made in house and is expertly flavored with pepper and sage notes that just make me smile when I eat it. When the staff go on vacation my wife and I go into severe withdrawal symptoms and we are sad until we can go back! read more

Been here twice (once last year and once this year) and both times were great. Food is always delicious, servers are very friendly, place is super clean, there's a parking lot with tons of parking, and the menu items are fairly priced for the amount and quality you get. Food is good, service is hit or miss. I had the biscuits & gravy for our last Sunday brunch here, while my husband went for the nanner nutter pancakes. His was divine...my biscuits & gravy were pretty good but the eggs served with it weren't nice & fluffy like I like my scrambled eggs. I added a side of homefries, which were delicious. Make sure to get some of their house-made hot sauces to try with them. Dessert to go was a big piece of chocolate cake...nice flavor, but a little dry. Service always seems to be the issue here. The owners are as sweet as pie, and whenever I see them, life is good. But some of their wait staff doesn't seem to have an eye for keeping customers happy. I understand that food is going to take a bit at a place like this, but my water glass shouldn't stay empty for 10+ minutes. And I get cranky when I've been sitting with empty plates on my table for more than 10 minutes while the server is standing up at the counter, chatting away. I'm more than happy to pay a premium for a nicer breakfast, but it should have better service than a random diner in exchange. read more

We had lunch at Mitzi's today, the service is pretty slow considering how small the place is. The food is really good, and they have a nice selection. The owner at the register was rude when we went to pay...all because we were using debit cards. Before we dined we asked if we could use our cards and were told yes it's not a problem, so I'm not sure why the owner was rude when it was time to pay but we won't be rushing back to Mitzi's. I want to start by saying the employees were great and the restaurant was very clean. I consider myself a foodie and this place did not cut it. First off it was too bright & the music for breakfast was loud and I felt like I was at a late night club. I had simply eggs, potatoes & toast. As did my daughter. Her toast wasn't even toasted & the potatoes were very bland and burnt. My husband had a fancy French toast that is a bad copy of another breakfast spot in the Lehigh Valley. I discovered Mitzi's several months ago when a friend posted on Facebook about it. I love to go out for brunch on weekends, and the place is near where I live, so I stopped in. I loved the retro decor immediately and it gave off a homey vibe that made me anxious to try the food. On that first visit I had the southwest benedict. It was amazing, and before I left I had already decided to come back the following weekend to try something else. The classic benedict is wonderful, plus I have had some other great variations on special, such as a recent duck confit benedict. A unique twist that is occasionally on special is a benedict served on salmon filets instead of a biscuit or English muffin, a great low-carb option when it's available! I would say 70-80% I order breakfast, and I've never been disappointed! I sit at the front counter which usually means service from the owner. I go so frequently now (almost every Sunday) that before he even approaches me he pours the cup of coffee that he knows I'll order! I often order from the specials menu because there are so many unique and flavorful creations. I watch the Facebook page where they post specials with photos, and often know what I'll order before I even arrive. The service has been unbeatable. One specific example: The weekend before St Pat's day they had specially made beignets with a Bailey's infused cream and chocolate ganache drizzle. I had talked to a friend the night before about splitting an order. That morning, my friend got delayed and wasn't going to arrive for about an hour. The owner split the order for me (I requested to pay for the full order on my check and surprise my friend), and made 2 of the 5 beignets for me, and the remaining 3 were made fresh for my friend when she arrived. I have also seen specials posted on Facebook during the week, and asked on the weekend (after new specials were posted) if they could make one of the previous specials, and they have accommodated the request. Oh, and I never leave without taking a couple apple dumplings (made with apples from local Scholl's Orchard) to go for a quick lunch during the week! When I get there late enough to feel like I should order lunch, my go to favorite is the po boy with oysters and garlic parm fries. So delicious! Last tidbit: A family I am good friends with had a less than stellar experience at Mitzi's not long after it opened. After hearing me rave about it, they decided to give it another try, and I ran into them there. They were so happy they gave it another chance, and said they will definitely return again! As others have mentioned, they gladly accept credit cards but strongly prefer cash, especially for the tips. Keep in mind that while it costs you the same, they have service fees on credit card payments. Support small business by bringing along a few bills, if you can. :-) read more

Found this place using yelp on our home to Virginia. The place was crowded and we had to wait for a table. The specials were clearly posted and menus available to look over while we waited. Our server, Michele, was very friendly. We were looking forwarded to the beignets, but they were sold out on our visit. Even though it is located in a small plaza,the atmosphere inside reminded me of an old fashioned dinner from the 1950s complete with music and coca-cola signage. We ordered the Nanner nutter pancakes and the cheesesteak omelette. Both plates had a generous portion of food. The food was as great as the overall experience. This place is perfect! It has awesome sweet dishes for cheat days & plenty of healthy dishes that leave you satisfied. The staff is so friendly and welcoming after just a couple of visits, you will feel like you've known them most of your life. Make sure to save room for their fresh baked desserts, they taste just like your grandmother's baking if not better. I will usually tell the waitress which desserts I will be taking home before I even order my coffee since they sell out so quickly! I have to keep coming back weekly for their amazing specials. As a vegetarian, I had several options and did not feel limited by their menu at all- there were also several vegan options, including tofu based meals. The portions we received were the perfect size, and very reasonable for the price. You can tell that the food here is quality- way better than local diners. My favorite part was the atmosphere- everyone was so welcoming, including our waitress Mary. Mary was kind, attentive, and genuine- she added so much to our experience.
