Always a nice vibe and good service here. The beef tenderloin & mashed potato pizza is worth coming for. Excellent duck and veal milanese too. We really like the caesar salad and the tomato & burrata app. Their crème brûlée isnt the best one I've had - I'd probably skip dessert next time (especially since they give you chocolate caramels on the way out that are delicious).

Sat at the bar, and the service did leave a little bit to be desired. The bartender was pretty absent due to being very busy with making orders for tables. Martini was OK - would have thought a place like this would have a better vesper. The grilled tenderloin was absolutely delicious and so was the creamed spinach and potato confit (I switched the sides). But not sure it felt worth $70+ Dessert was sadly a bust. Warm chocolate torte was so gooey inside that tasted like flavorless brownie batter. The bartender said he would put a scoop of mousse on the side since I was deciding between the two. Didn't really want to pay for two desserts (hence trying to decide on just one), but he charged me for both. The mousse was also super average. Front is pretty but rest of the ambiance is nothing super special

Came here with mediocre expectations ... Boy way I wrong! First off, Evan was incredibly delightful. Knowledgeable, friendly but didn't hover. I would like him to be my waiter everywhere. Every ounce of food was incredible: we eat out a lot and I have to say, the seared foie was my favorite thing in awhile. We had escargot, foie and carpaccio. All incredible. Our meals were epic as well. We got duck and branzino. Both the best I've had of their kind. We will be putting this on our rotation of special event restaurants. It's worth it.

One of the best French restaurants in Boston. The roasted duck was really delicious, with crispy skin and tender meat inside. I also love the decoration of the restaurant. There are street parking and valet available.

Came for an anniversary dinner and we leaned into the richer side of the menu and it did not disappoint! Highlights - escargot came out in a piping hot buttery garlic herb bath, the duck was a very generous portion with nice crispy skin on top of creamy mushroom risotto that was balanced with the sweetness of the cranberry gastrique, and the osso bucco had good depth of flavor that went nicely with the polenta - definitely don't forget the bone marrow! The foie gras parfait was good, but a bit cold and hard - it got better as it came to room temp. Drinks were mixed well but nothing to write home about. We were stuffed by the end, but they treated us to some anniversary sorbet which was a nice touch. Service was excellent and the ambiance was elegant, just a bit loud. Would return for a special occasion.

Came here for a birthday dinner and it was fantastic--from the service to the dishes we got, just about everything was well thought out. The escargot in particular stood out to me, the sauce they make for this dish was immaculate. It's dimly lit inside and very romantic for a nice date night. We'd love to come back.

We had a delightful evening dinner at Le Mistral. The ambiance is feutre and sophisticated with a candle light romantic touch. My lobster ravioli and rack of lamb from Colorado was extremely well executed. Frankly one of the best rack of lamb I ever had. Service was attentive and we had a great Barolo wine di Montelpuciano. Also love my improvised " Colonel with vodka and lemon sorbet. The profitero au chocolat are also very popular! You can sit at the bar without reservations. This restaurant is on the pricey side with a $95 for the rack of lamb....

Halibut with paella rice and little clams

Everything was A-1 with my dinner here. It was packed on a Tuesday evening and very lively. Crab dumpling appetizer was delicious, and the pan-roasted halibut over saffron rice with mini-clams and calamari was perfection. The portions were just right -- the appetizer wasn't overly filling and the entree was substantial without being too much. Nice, citrusy cocktail and good wine list as well. The service was exactly as you would hope, keeping everything flowing smoothly and checking in just enough but not so often they were annoying. Would definitely return. The design is a little bland, and the light fixtures are those things with individual shades on the bulbs and many of them were askew, but your attention will rightfully stay on your plate most of the time.

I was visiting Boston and had a great meal at Mistral. Their complimentary car service makes this restaurant really convenient if you're visiting from out of town. I had the pan roasted halibut and it was delicious and flavorful without being drenched in butter. The portions were perfectly sized. For dessert I had the crème brûlée with mint hot tea. If you order tea (which is not on the menu) they will bring you a whole pot. I will definitely dine here again next time I'm in Boston.

Of course, I'm biased--we were in an especially good mood tonight celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. But the truth is, if this had been an ordinary Friday night at any point over the last 30 years, I would be writing the exact same thing. An amazing dinner. The professionalism, care, and culinary expertise at Mistral exceed expectations at every level. An outstanding cocktail and wine program perfectly complements a kitchen grounded in classic French technique. Ambiance is modern chic. Highlights included the escargot, salmon tartare, and a beautifully executed Dover sole. And the tart to finish? Absolutely unforgettable. If you've never been, go--soon. You don't know what you're missing.

Ok so this place has been around for a while but it has not gotten old at all. The packed dining room, amazing service, great food and excellent cocktails make this a wonderful place for an elevated night out. You won't regret going, just bring a credit card, friends and don't plan on going to bed early or waking up early either

Casual but not super casual. You can wear jeans but I would expect appropriate footwear and a button up shirt tucked in. Shorts are ok if they are khakis with a polo type shirt and nice footwear.

We got a lovely corner table by the window, and they offered us a high chair even though we ended up not needing it. Our server was knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations, walking us through portion sizes and the drink menu. We totally enjoyed every dish we ordered. My favorites were the Sultan's Delight and the moussaka -flavors were deep and maxed out, and every texture, from the meat to the veggies, was cooked to perfection. The only minor hiccup was the pacing(I expected the mezze to come first and mains after, but the order came out a bit mixed). We also ordered the "mac and cheese" plate for our toddler, and it was surprisingly healthy and delicious - my husband ended up eating it with pleasure too. The atmosphere was lively, even a little noisy at times, but we loved it. A wonderful evening overall, and we'd absolutely come back.

On our latest visit, we ordered the Za'atar Bread, Topik, Zucchini Pancake, and two desserts (Muhalabi and Almond Cremolata). The Good: Everything vegetable-forward was exceptional. The Topik's creamy potato hummus with pine nuts and currants is always a winner. The Za'atar Bread with muhammara and tahini labne is the perfect opener. The Zucchini Pancake with charred eggplant and corn & pepper ezme is underrated--complex and satisfying. Both desserts were delicious: the Muhalabi (dark chocolate, kaymak ice cream, rye cocoa shortbread) is sophisticated and rich, while the Almond Cremolata is lighter and coconutty. The Disappointing: We ordered the Sultan's Delight ($23) and got mostly fat with no actual meat. For the price point, it felt underwhelming.

Last time I walked in and was told…read morethere would be a two-hour wait, but this time I made a reservation and finally got to enjoy a delicious meal! Tiropita Rolls: Very straightforwardly delicious. The bread was warm, soft, and airy, with a rich aroma of butter and cheese; the spread was a rich blend of honey butter, and olives, sweet and delicious, perfect as an appetizer. Tzatziki: A slight disappointment. The cucumber and Greek yogurt spread was surprisingly heavy, a bit cloying, and the pickled kumquats weren't as sweet as I expected, but rather had a slightly bitter taste. The pita bread was thick and soft, probably better suited for dipping in soup--like Bourdeto--than for the spread. Bourdeto: The tomato fish soup was a pleasant surprise. The freshly caught grouper of the day was thick and tender, lightly seared to create a crispy crust. The broth was a vibrant, tangy tomato base, with onions, fennels, and red peppers contributing a sweet, layered flavor. Trahanas, fermented wheat and dairy, added richness and a smooth texture to the soup. The broth also had a slight spiciness, making it incredibly comforting on a chilly autumn day. Portokalopita: The dessert that elevated the entire meal. A traditional Greek orange phyllo, the cake, made from crumbs of phyllo pastry, becomes incredibly soft and moist after being soaked in orange syrup. Every bite was bursting with rich orange sweetness and fragrance, followed by a slightly bitter orange zest--perfectly balanced. Paired with Manouri cheese ice cream, the creamy flavor was incredibly rich and creamy, creating a harmonious and layered flavor profile.

We chose to sit outside; it was a chilly fall evening when we went last year, but we got some lap blankets which was a nice touch, so brownie points for service. My friend and I split the pastitsio (meat pasta dish), kotopoulo (a chicken dish), louza charcuterie, and tiropita (halloumi rolls). The rolls were stuffed with halloumi and were dense in the best way possible. Coupled with the louza charcuterie, the appetizers were a hit. The two entrees were small but mighty - they were packed with rich meats but also featured microgreens, herbs, and other tangy, bold flavors that really balanced the dishes. We got some glasses of Greek orange wine that I can't remember the name of but it paired excellently with the food per our waitress's recommendation. Overall, a solid Greek option if you're in Back Bay! But definitely make a reservation if you can.

I am disappointed, from the very start to the end my experience was quite bad. The kitchen did not allow a bread substitution for the sandwich we ordered, they did not do waffles at this location either, and when we got our food the portion sizes were very small. The salmon was very overpriced for how much they offered; $27 for a piece of salmon only a few inches across was insulting, but apparently that is just how it is served there (picture below, you can see the pieces of broccoli are almost as big as the fish!) The other dish we got was the chicken sandwich, which is cut into two halves. The first half was normal but there was basically no chicken on the second half of the sandwich, it was essentially all bread. We brought it up to a manager and they got us a new piece of chicken, which fit entirely alongside the old piece of chicken on the bun because it was so small. On top of that we had to wait around nearly half an hour after finishing and had to flag down a waiter to get our check and go. The service overall was very slow. I will never come back to this restaurant.
