Mission Burger, Brisket Cheese Fries, BBQ Wings
Dave D.

So, first - the food is everything I have wanted in my plant-based diet. Everything on the menu is available for me, and the Mission Burger _was_ the right choice! For the first time in years, my wife and I shared a shake and brisket-cheese fries. Yay! The staff was amazing - super nice, super helpful, and just super. Clean, well-lit and easy to enjoy a meal here. Will come here again and again, and mention to all my Vegan friends. Thank you!

I've come here a couple of time now and this is being one of my favorite burger stops. There aren't many vegan bbq options out there but this smoked brisket burger is amazing. Service is great and the restaurant has a causal atmosphere.

Highly recommend the Smoked Brisket burger here. I didn't read the full description when I placed an order, so I didn't know the brisket was not meat. Then I was pleasantly surprised that the brisket was actually made of mushrooms and beans, because the taste and texture was perfectly meat-y! The bbq sauce is also pretty good. Not too salty, but had just the right amount of smokiness to it.

It was my first time here, and I couldn't be more impressed. The service was excellent. The person at the front was friendly and helpful, offering suggestions and giving me a cookie while I was ordering. As for the food, I was amazed that it was all plant-based and made with high-quality ingredients. I ordered the Ruben, Steak Burger, and Lemon Pepper Chicken Sandwich. They were all great, but my personal favorite was the Lemon Pepper Chicken Sandwich.

Chocolate Chip Cookie

My BFF and I came here looking for Spin Burger and realized this location had moved in. Sad I didn't get a burger frisbee, but this was a great substitute. FREE Chocolate Chip Cookie - The cookies are definitely great--no crazy standout, but they had a distinct oat flavor. I can imagine sea salt would enhance the flavor even more. I love chocolate chip, though... and FREE is the best seasoning. Mushroom Truffle - We agreed to split these burgers 50/50, and bro zoned out while eating; I got like 1/4 of it. Hopefully that emphasizes how much he enjoyed this burger. The first thing I noticed was that the patty wasn't as thick. I do like their burgers and how they're medium-rare, but this one was much more packed with mushrooms, per the burger style. If it had the B&B patty, this would've been my favorite. Hold up--I did not know this was an Impossible patty. Not bad, but it does explain the difference in flavor. Still, it paired exceptionally well with the mushrooms. Black & Blue - Very deep flavors. I didn't like it as much as the Mushroom Truffle. In fact, I felt like this was way too saucy. The blue cheese didn't hold the show as much as the rest of the burger, and I'm a sucker for blue cheese. Like, inject Penicillin straight into my soul; obsessed. Anyways, it was just okay. My BFF and I agreed that these burgers are TENDER. Like, "didn't have to chew; it was a soft slush in my mouth" tender. Anyways, the sauce on both of these was on point--the first bite was a very obvious banger of flavors. Okay. I lied; these are ALL Impossible patties. Instantly changed the game because these were very well executed. On the way out, one of the workers (perhaps the owner) asked for our feedback. Apparently, many of these burgers are new menu items, and we got to hear a bit of their backstory (and got another FREE cookie). Some of the loveliest people I've met. I really love what they're doing here, and I'm glad they moved just 15 minutes away from our location. Wishing them the best!

We went excited. We left estactic. We preordered online to pick up fries and a jr smoked brisket burger. When we arrived there was still seating available inside or on their patio. While we waited we got a warm cookie to nosh on while we checked out their selection of local baked goods! We were able to share the burger even though it was the single and we couldn't believe the smoky flavor and amazing texture of the brisket. Often sauces are just added on top, but this truly had a smoked all day flavor. We can't wait to go back and work through the whole menu. I can't say enough about how welcoming the staff was either - super kind. It's inside barley bean so you can also grab a vegan latte or a cocktail!

We were greeted by the server behind the counter with a warm chocolate chip cookie-yum! Our Mission burger was accompanied by fries and onion rings. Food was all delicious. Seating area inside is small and we moved so the party of 3 behind us could sit together. Recommend this for anyone, not only those who eat vegan.

Their milkshakes are made with lentil ice cream!! Who would've thought?!!! They are INCREDIBLE!!

We returned to Mission Burger for the second time today because everything we had the first visit was so delicious--and once again, they did not disappoint. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff truly make this place special. Huge shoutout to amazing team members Ariel and Emily for being so warm and kind. The chef even made our pup Zoloft a pup cup today, which was such a sweet gesture. The lovely woman who helped us during our last visit also gave Zoloft a pup cup, so they've consistently shown kindness to our little family. They even gave complimentary vegan cookies to guests when we arrived (not sure if it was a special promotion, but such a thoughtful touch!). And the ice cream... WOW. Made with lentils, and honestly some of the best ice cream we've ever had--rich, creamy, and unforgettable. Friendly staff, delicious food, thoughtful service, and creative plant-based treats. Mission Burger is a gem in Austin, and we'll absolutely be back again whenever we return to Austin

Brisket burger and garlic fries

Movie night with the family!!! After a nice trip to the movies with my kid, what better way to end the night than with a nice burger and fries. Decided to try Mission for the first time and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We were immediately greeted and offered a complimentary cookie. I went for the brisket burger. It had a nice flavor and was very filling. What's crazy about all of it is that, I didn't realize the menu was completely vegan until after I'd already ordered and ate. Just goes to show how good they make the food. They have a nice outdoor patio for dining in with some great lighting on their awning. If you're in the area, check them out!!!

I got the crunch wrap and it was perfect and crispy! Staff is friendly and the ordering process is easy as ever. The setup makes it comfy to enjoy their menu and you even getter a buzzer letting you know your food is done.

Rating: 2.4/5 [Ubereats Delivery] We have no idea what happened, but our second experience with Mission Burger was a total bust. Delivery took longer this time as well, which only added to the disappointment. The Mighty Reuben ($22.49): This is one of their top sellers and something I was genuinely excited to try. It's a NYC-style Reuben made with a 1/2 pound of BeHive seitan that's corned and cured for at least 48 hours, then layered with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Mission sauce on marble rye bread. In the UberEats photo, the seitan looked bright red, but what we got was pale pink--and tasted more like ham than corned beef. The marble rye was overly sour, and I wasn't a fan of the sauerkraut. Honestly, neither of us could even figure out what we were tasting. Classic Bacon Mushroom Melt Burger ($18.95): This comes with double Impossible patties, a double portion of bacon, mushrooms, American cheese, pickles, and extra cheese. Despite all that, it actually looked smaller than the Reuben. It's recommended for mushroom lovers, but they completely missed the mark--the mushrooms weren't browned at all and had zero earthy, umami flavor. They also failed to capture the bacon essence. This ended up being one of the worst burgers I've ever had. I couldn't even eat more than a quarter of it. This was such a stark contrast to our first time trying Mission Burger. I don't know what changed, but this experience honestly left us pretty scarred.

Jr. Pastrami Burger

Ordered online and was ready in ten minutes! Pickup was quick and easy with friendly staff! Smallish parking lot, but had no troubles getting a spot when I went. It is located inside barley bean so you could sit down and enjoy your meal there if you wanted. I got a jr burger, which is the size of a regular burger (nothing junior about it!). Very flavorful and a good ratio balance of all the 'meats'. Not pictured, but still enjoyed, was their chocolate chip cookie! Perfect size IMO, suggest warming up in the microwave for 5-10 seconds to get it nice and gooey soft. Price wise it is on the expensive side; however if you are plant-based (like myself) the lemon may be worth the squeeze since there are not many other places like this in Austin. I did and will be back to try more!

Service is a counter top service at a café called Barley beans so tight area but definitely a café. If you're running around during your day it's a quick stop. I wouldn't say it's a whole day just because the space is very limited but you do as well get to drink here. Food is delicious. I believe it is vegan even through desserts. Ambience is perfect. The guy is so considerate will input any information that you need from the restaurant as well when we walked in immediately got started with some cookies out of respect. I thought that was really cool from them so did hit the spot after having an adventurous day.

Apr 8, 2026 review:…read more I've been at Nori two times in person and recently tried their to-go order. We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Volcano roll was a deep fried roll which had spinach, avocado, sweet potato. On top: spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, Caviart and tempura onion. I would say this is the best vegetarian sushi place I've found in Austin. So if you're in search, this wouldn't disappoint you.

It did take quite a bit of time for the drinks to come out but totally understandable for a bar to be backed up. All the drinks that we did try were delicious and my favorite part was you got to chose on whether to make then N/A, Spiked, or Infused. We were on their outdoor patio and the vibes were good and quiet perfect for our large group to talk and hear each other. Can't wait to go again!

You visit a restaurant and you order via a kiosk and get your own beverages. Pretty soon, we'll be entering the doctor's office and drawing our own blood. But Fabrik? They take care of you like it's 1990 or something. I've never had a dining experience like this. For example, at one point, I went to the bathroom and left my crumpled up napkin on the table like some sort of barbarian. When I returned, the napkin was neatly folded and my silverware had been replaced. It was so shocking that I almost wanted to test it again. How many times would they fold it? Beyond the exceptional care by the staff, the food was absolutely divine. You can tell the chef planned every course with care and a knowledge of food I could only dream of obtaining. I had never been to a restaurant where you're served multiple small dishes over the course of two hours. I was honestly worried I'd leave still feeling hungry. I was wrong. So wrong. The last time I felt this full was Thanksgiving 2004 when my aunt accidentally made too many mashed potatoes. At one point during the Fabrik dining experience, I said out loud, "Oh my god," and then quickly remembered I was in a public setting. Every course was delicious. The bread, the pasta, the white bean dip, the banana miso mousse... IT''S ALL SO GOOD! If you're wondering, "Should I really spend this much money to eat?" the answer is yes. You should. Sell a kidney if you must. It doesn't have to be yours. Just sell a kidney.

Dinner at Fabrik is more than just dinner, it's an experience. From the sleek interior perfect for…read morea small group or intimate night out, to the plating and delicate fusion of flavors in every dish, every aspect of our meal seemed meticulously thought out and perfectly executed by Fabrik's wife and husband team Je and Silas Wallerstein. I was lucky enough to snag a table for three during Fabrik's earlier timeslot (5:45 p.m.) on a Friday night. I've been dreaming of visiting Fabrik since it first opened in 2023, so when I received an email about the opening of Fabrik's new Tarrytown location, I knew this was my chance. Fabrik's tasting menu costs $105 a person, with an extra optional wine pairing for $65. We opted to purchase a bottle of bubbles instead of the wine pairing, as the pairing includes approximately three glasses of wine (too much for us). Each course is a special expression of in season produce and other ingredients. Fabrik tries to use local ingredients whenever possible. Fabrik's friendly staff explain the details of each course to your table as they're serving. My favorite savory dish is "black and yellow" which features shiitake mushroom cappelletti in a corn cream reminiscent of corn chowder, served alongside corn madeleines (the first savory expression of a madeleine I've ever seen). Another favorite is the "verdant" featuring scalloped potatoes with homemade cabbage and topped with an aromatic lemongrass hollandaise tableside. After telling friends about our visit to Fabrik, multiple people asked if I was full after a fully vegan meal. A resounding yes. Each plate is on the smaller end, which is necessary because there are eight courses. The last three courses are sweet, which is a delight for those of us with a sweet tooth. My favorite sweet course is the "open sesame" with banana miso mousse and roasted banana compote, served alongside a crunchy black sesame sable. This dish is topped with an extremely realistic "leaf" made solely of banana and sugar, showing the true artistry of this restaurant. Our meal ended with a delicate yuzu macaron topped with a butterfly, which was the perfect citrusy end to an otherwise equally superb meal. Each member of my group left with bellies full and dreams of our favorite courses. After visiting this unique spot, it's easy to see why Fabrik is Michelin recommended. This was maybe my favorite meal I've ever had in Austin. Fabrik's tasting menu changes seasonally, so we tried their "Summer" menu during our August visit. I hope to return for their winter dishes. Try Fabrik for a night to remember, if you can snag a reservation.

Fry Let me tell you…read moreabout FTG. The little food truck in the back of a sweet-ass dive bar called Mama Dearest. Do you wanna know about the dive bar? You'll have to check out my other review. But just know it's filled with weird taxidermy and novelty items that are one of a kind. But I digress. Back to the food. I would like to tell you I tried everything on the menu as many times as I came here. But alas, only four or five things. Unfortunately, their pierogies are the best thing I've ever had. Not just in Austin, but ever. I am now desperately seeking pierogies that rival FTG's. It's not just the pierogies themselves... but the sauce, it would make angels sing. Every time I tried something new, my heart would long for the pierogies. I finally gave in to my desires and quit trying other new things. I think next time I go back I'm just going to ask strangers if I can have a bite of their food, so I can say I've tried everything. But until then, this review is for what I have tried. After the pierogies. My next favorite things in order. Fried chicken (perfectly crisp bites), jerk chicken (little spicy, not dry, perfect), chilli (so spicy), gnocchi. The cheesecake would technically rank after the pierogies, but because they're a dessert I don't wanna mess up the order here and confuse y'all. The two dudes that work this truck, are here EVERY time. I'm pretty sure the only days they take off is Mondays and Tuesdays. Tell them the girl from Kansas City with a big dog sent to you. Lastly. Know that you won't find this place overrun with college kids or snotty hipsters. Just regular people enjoying a good dive bar.

Rating: 2.7/5 [Postmates delivery]…read more We were so excited to try FTG's food, especially given its high Yelp rating. Unfortunately, it ended up being extremely disappointing. The meats were unforgivably dry, though everything else was good. Steak & Zab ($22): The zab, a mix of green beans, mushrooms, and broccoli tossed in salsa macha with sabayon, was actually enjoyable. I liked the flavors, but it was a bit too creamy/saucy for my husband (likely due to the sabayon). The steak, however, was dry and very chewy. Asian Style Spare Ribs ($17): This came with a 1/3 rack of spare ribs, a Thai cabbage salad, and five-spice fried potatoes. The potatoes were fire, and the salad was solid. But again, the meat missed the mark--super dry for the most part. We tried dipping it in the sabayon and other sauces to add moisture, but it didn't help. The fish sauce glaze didn't come through either. The only redeeming quality was the generous portion size.
