Love this place for lunch! The 2 meat platter with sides is my go-to. The jalapeno sausage is killer, especially after dipping it in their BBQ sauce. For sides, the potato salad is my absolute favorite. Small parking lot, and not a ton of room inside, but usually enough. It's always quick, friendly, and clean. Usually runs me about $15-18 for lunch, but it's quality food, smoked fresh every day. Worth every penny! read more

A new BBQ place to check out? Sign me up. My dad and I took the quick drive from CB to Bellevue to try this new(ish) BBQ place right when they opened a couple months ago. I had the ribs and pulled pork with beans. I wish they had a three meat combo or something because I wanted to try a few of their meats. My dad had the brisket sandwich. The food came out pretty quickly. All of the meats were really juicy and tender but didn't have much smoke flavor, or any flavor, for that matter. It was odd to eat smoked meats and not taste much smoke. Not sure if it was reheated or something but it was odd. But I hear great things for mostly everyone else who has been here so I don't know. Either way, don't think I'll be coming back any time soon but I may give this place another chance in the future. read more

Think it's the first time coming in during their first hour of business and they have a steady flow coming and going. Amazing service from (I forget to catch her name) the cashier. She is fast, efficient, and straight up awesome! *claps* Hopefully she is proud of the work she does because I love it. Just looked at my receipt time and the time of the duck picture. That's how cohesive their team is at getting orders out. Chatted with the owner a bit as I decided on hot sauce for my corn and noticed the duck. Very charismatic guy; he got the duck locally 3D printed and got other ducks personalized for each of the crew. Staff is always very friendly and the restaurant is always clean. The BBQ is always on point and consistently good old amazing Texas BBQ. The brisket is so tender, full of flavor, and the ribs are always tender, fall of the bone type mmm mmm mmm. I really like the Mac & Cheese and it's always prepared on the spot (cooked to order) and I love that it has a little spice kick in it. The turkey breast was a really nice surprise for me and I could not believe how moist and just simply GOOD it was. We returned!! My husband ordered the two meat plate, brisket and brisket burnt end link(he said they cook pieces of burnt ends right in the link!), man n cheese and zesty slaw. Served with two sauces. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich with the tomato cucumber salad. The salad was nice and fresh. The sandwich was delicious, next time I'm going to ask for a couple jalapeños on top. We asked about the ribs and they gave us one to try. Believe me on our next trip we will be trying it!! In 40+ years of eating Omaha food, this is by far the best and most authentic barbecue I've eaten. The venue is small and often busy but was good enough to wait and stand to eat. It seems to be a family-owned business. I like that they took a house and converted it, but I would not be surprised if they grow so much they have to expand. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. The owner, Scott and his staff are friendly and make you feel at home from your first visit!! There is smoked brisket, pork, ribs and turkey. Remember, this is Texas style bbq and not what you'd normally see in the Midwest. There are so many options. Individual meals as well as feeding whole families AND they cater!!! Brisket nachos are one of my favorites along with the ribs. The bbq sauces are made in store and they range from mild to extra hot! Went there for the first time today and as a KCBS Certified BBQ judge I'd have to say this was probably some of the best Texas Style Brisket I've ever had! Brisket was so tender, ribs were very good and not over cooked! Also, tried the Jalapeño Swiss cheese Sausage and it was amazing as well, each piece was oozing with Swiss Cheese! It's amongst the best BBQ I've had, to include from Austin where the owner hails from. It showcases perfectly what hours of love and devotion can bring into this world. Completely worth it. If you want on the ground floor to being a local or regular on something that's just recently opened, that within five months will be out the door popular like some of our other small establishments are in the Omaha area; This right here is the spot. Also they treat active duty and veterans exceptionally well, and is one of the few spots that asks and offers up their discount rather than making you go ask for it, which is super considerate to a person like me, who's a vet and doesn't want to seem to be asking for special treatment for it all the time. I am a BBQ snob! I travel to Texas to eat at Texas monthly's best BBQ spots in Texas frequently. Ever since I had REAL Texas pit brisket i was in love. So much it pretty much ruined all BBQ back here in Nebraska. However when I found out mission Ave BBQ owner Scott Fogle trained at my favorite spot in Austin (Valentina's) I was hopeful we'd finally have some good BBQ here in Omaha. I was able to go to Mission Ave BBQ today with my wife and friends. We were all BLOWN AWAY!!!! This Brisket will challenge ANY I've had in Texas! I came in to get the wings and when I arrived I just missed the last order. The cashier was super nice and said I could preorder for the next week which I did. I ended up ordering off the menu for that evenings dinner. We got the brisket sandwich, burnt ends, macaroni, coleslaw, and chips and salsa. It was all delicious the salsa had some kick too it I loved. The burnt ends and brisket practically melted in your mouth. Their sauce is one of a kind flavor that has a little spice that will sneak up on ya. The macaroni was so delicious, nice and creamy and a great Smokey flavor. When I got the wings the following week my mind was blown!! The cashier remembered me and got everything packed up really fast. The wings were so good!! The flavor was perfect!! Went there for lunch. WOW it was so good! I had the Brisket sandwich with sausage and queso with a side of mac and cheese. I have to say it was probably the best sandwich I've had in a long time. The price point is also major plus, a lot of Bar B Que places charge premium price for smoked foods, the value to price point at this place is hard to beat. Their brisket is awesome. The brisket taco my wife particularly loved. Also, their corn chips & queso was very tasty. The mexican street corn was amazing. Personally though, I wasn't a big fan of their ribs. Although the ribs are meaty and large enough, and pretty tasty, I prefer more "fall off the bone" ribs, not chew/pull off. However, I loved the vinegar based sauce that came with them on the side. Overall, I give them 4 out of 5 stars. Definitely get the brisket. read more

My daughter found out about this bbq joint from FoodLovers of Omaha and we decided to give them a try. The parking was kinda tight, but the lot was full, a good sign in my opinion, since you don't want to go where there is not a crowd. We were greeted right away when we walked in the door and the service was friendly and helpful. She recommended a few things and we said e we wanted double sized sides so we could eat family style and she was like, no problem! I'll admit, we scrambled for a lower table since most of their seating is high stools and counter tables, but we had kids, so we had no shame snagging the one in the back all for us. The food came out pretty quick. We started off with chips and queso and it was fire!!! We had a full rack of spare ribs and an order of brisket. We also enjoyed one of each of the available sides. The seasoning on the ribs was perfection and they practically fell off the bone. When I tell you how tender they were, my seven month old grandson was sucking on one like a lollipop! The brisket was just to die for. The smoke ring on it was awe inspiring. While I thought the potato salad needed a bit more salt and pepper, all other sides were delicious. My favorite was the tomato, cucumber salad, the taste brought back memories of my grandmas refrigerator pickles from 50 years ago. The Mexican street corn was also very good, but I prefer more mayo in mines and the pinto beans were as good as my dad would make. I could taste the time and love they put in this food! The place was clean and the bathroom was spotless. That's important when you have kids who always have to go when you're out and about! Bottom line, if you are looking for food to comfort you and bring you back to when grandma made it, you should give this place a try. read more
