WARNING!! this business is run by people disrespect service member and their families!! The restaurant owner chased and yelled at me outside saying f**k off and do not come back and after I left the restaurant in peace paid in full with tips. I had no idea what happened so i went back in to ask him what happened and telling him that he was disrespectful towards a veteran. He then exploded talked shit about U.S army soldier and U.S military in front of all other customer and threaten to call the police. Eventually police came, and nothing happened to me. The restaurant is about 1mile away from U.S army reserve center, and I took many of my battle buddy there to eat. We never caused any trouble, ate in peace, never disturbed other customer, what the restaurant manager did to me today shows him that is a communist asshole that hate on U.S army and disrespect his regular customer. read more

Called to place an order for pickup and the gentleman who answered the phone was very dismissive and seemed like he didn't even want to take our order. When I asked if I can place an order for pickup he said if I could hold because he was in the middle of something. Sure, no problem, I didn't mind waiting. As I was placing my order I asked for orange chicken and he said they don't serve orange chicken so he offered two other options to which I asked if he could tell me what type of dishes they were and he seemed bothered and he then placed me on hold again. When he came back he told me that my order wouldn't be ready for 40-50 minutes as of to push me not to order. He hung up on me before I could finish speaking. I was. I would say that this place and Sichuan Impressions are the 2 best authentic Chinese food in OC. This isn't american chinese food so it might not taste what you'd expect. Max points for the food. We ordered 6 dishes and all came out great. Some of the dishes are new variations of some traditional dishes we know, but they still were done well. I am a Chinese Gourmet, seldom write comment on Chinese restaurant but this one, Min Chef, because it is the best I ever had in Orange or may be in Los Angeles area. My friend from Beijing now live in Beverley came to visit me for 90 min drive and recommended Min Chef to me. It is a hidden gem in Tustin. Never judge a book by its cover. Min is one of the most authentic Northern food even in China. The material is fresh, seasonings is perfect and present in precise temperature, it need Kung Fu !! I ordered Stir fry Cauliflower, pork with Romano beans, sliced prime beef with scallions, spicy shrimp and pan fried chives pocket. So delicious!! Especially Chives pocket, you can only find it in heaven! The lady called Miss Chiang delivered best service , she know the food well. Ask her if you come based on your appetite. I went to several Michelin restaurants before, but Ming let me feel home sick and flavor like from Mom kitchen. So delicious and versatile! I am currently treat Ming Restaurant as my back yard kitchen, go several times a week and I still have passion on it. I highly recommended! It will eat you heart out. read more

I swore off writing reviews for the past few months because I am working on some short stories and didn't want to dilute my writing time. However, I am going to allow myself to write a quick note about this restaurant. My girlfriend is Chinese from Malaysia by way of Monterey Park to Rowland Heights - the USA Silk Road. She has taken me to every Chinese place imaginable, half of which no one speaks English. This is a family business that takes great pride in the freshness and authentic flavor of their Bejing food. You will truly notice the difference. If my Italian mother was Chinese I could swear she was cooking in the kitchen. This is just a little strip mall place, but as I said to my girlfriend when she wanted to go to an Italian restaurant in Southcoast Plaza with 30 foot high ceilings: "Oh, no. I'm not going to any Italian restaurant that doesn't have red checked plastic table clothes and straw basketed Chianti." I am so tired of the next big thing that overcharges me and serves me up five courses of pure mediocrity. So I ordered the pork hock and Kung pao shrimp to go and it was a hit and miss. The pork hock was flavorful, but the bones turned out to be half the portion, that was pretty disappointing. The Kung Pao shrimp tasted pretty funky... I like the numbing spices, but it appears to have ketchup or something else that didn't mesh well with the dish. Overall, the pork hock was good, would recommend, but hope they would select a better piece next time. I would not recommend the Kung pao shrimp. read more

Got Sichuan cold noodle and shrimp fried rice to go a few nights ago. Like the noodles so much we ordered 2 more noodles portions the next day. The shrimp fried rice was light, I was ok with it. They should have included a couple of soy sauce packets in to go order in case it's needed. And they do take quite a bit of time to get the food done.
