I have been to Mimosa several times, most of which were great experiences. The restaurant has a cute, trendy vibe, that sets it apart from a lot of other brunch places. It is typically PACKED during peak hours, so be sure to check in on the Yelp app first to snag a spot on their waitlist before you head out. Most recently, I visited with a friend for a late brunch and was disappointed. I had my usual Eggs Benedict with house potatoes. The potatoes were delicious, as always, but the eggs were hard poached, with no runny yolk. They serve fresh-squeezed orange juice, which is absolutely fantastic. My group of three was seated on the patio immediately despite it being a Saturday at 11am! We quickly ordered drinks and received them but the. Didn't see our server for the next 30min. We asked another server if we could order and she immediately apologized and took our order. Our food came out fairly quickly and we all enjoyed our meals! The pancakes and syrup were to die for! The garden omelette was good and the house potatoes were oily. I would recommend sitting on the patio, they have many sunshades covering almost all tables from direct sun. read more

Showed up right as they opened on a Saturday. Staff was friendly when we walked in. They were seating people far away from each other for more privacy. Servers were attentive and nice, and the food was good! I had a chorizo scramble and my wife had blueberry pancakes and eggs. Everything was yummy, hot, and seasoned well. Chorizo wasn't overly greasy (even though that would have been more authentic?). We each had a mimosa as well and the orange juice was yummy! Would highly recommend, we will be back when we visit the area (from Appleton). Only thing some people may not like is the portion sizes COULD be bigger (*cough* mimosas!). Started going to Mimosa when I couldn't get into Blue's Egg. Have been back multiple times since. Nice, clean restaurant, fast service after you order, and every dish we've tried has been wonderful! My personal favorites are the berry blintzes and the biscuits and chorizo gravy. read more

After years of avoiding Mimosa owing to long lines at the weekends, we finally gave it a go. Outside there is a vinyl sign reading "voted best breakfast!" Well, for our vote we would have to concur. Berry pancakes with real maple syrup and feta-lemon potatoes were the tipping point. My advice is to go on a weekday to receive lovingly prepared breakfast with excellent service. Yum! read more

Very busy diner. They have an app for waiting in line to get seated. I was so annoyed because we waited in the car for 25mins, when we got the text that our table was ready, we went to the hostess booth, (my toddler, infant, husband, and mother in law) I literally heard the people ahead of me nod their head yes when the hostess said my name. I thought maybe we have the same first name so I didn't interject. After those people were seated, I went forward and gave the hostess my name, at which point there was a moment of silence and she told me that I will be another few mins. When I asked how much longer since I brought my small kids in already and the waiting area is very crowded, she told me "25mins" In my mind I was like are you kidding me. I was ready to walk out of there with my entire family but we waited so long and my toddler is getting hangry. I told them I can't wait that long and they called me in that my table is ready. The hostess then told me she can seat me but will not have a space for a high chair. We were seated in a corner booth and we had to hold the kids the whole time. We ate fast and left. I...do not like brunch. I feel the majority of brunch places I have been to have been severely underwhelming. It's eggs and bacon and pancakes...surely we can do something phenomenal with it, right? But most brunches, I leave disappointed after mediocre, under-spiced, and generic food- I'm no chef, but I frequently feel like I could have just made these dishes at home instead of paying $20 for some eggs with salt and pepper and watery coffee. Prior to Mimosa, there was only one brunch place I had been to that I could definitively say I enjoyed. Now, there's two! Hidden on Bluemound on top of a small hill, Mimosa dishes out brunch classics and some more unique dishes in a comfortable (if a bit sterile) setting decorated with pieces salvaged from an Eschweiler-designed mansion. My friends and I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the restaurant was easily able to accommodate our sizeable party. They have their own lot, which makes parking convenient. I ordered the Sol de Mesa skillet [$11.95] with potatoes and pancakes, as well as a hot apple cider [$3.45]. For the price, I felt that the quality and portion size of the skillet was fantastic! The skillet came out in a cute little cast iron filled to the brim with veggies. It was definitely a lot of potatoes in the base, maybe too much for others; as a potato-lover, I enjoyed it, but I would think it would be better for the less spud-enthused patrons to decrease the amount of potatoes in this dish in favor of other ingredients. The dish was well-seasoned and one of the more tasty brunch dishes I've had. The pancakes on the side were good, nothing to write home about but objectively nothing wrong- just regular pancakes, light, easy to eat, and served with all the accoutrements, including a lovely berry jam. I have a big appetite, but was only able to finish half of my dish (for the record, leftovers reheated phenomenally). The apple cider was okay- I wish it was more spiced or prepared in some way to distinguish it from tasting just like a hot apple juice, and it also would have been nice to be able to have refills on this. My friends had omelettes, benedicts, and chicken and waffles- all looked good, excepting the chicken and waffles which seemed a bit dry. Mimosa has their own Colectivo blend, which is certainly unique, and my friends who ordered coffee seemed to enjoy it. Our server was friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed with the crowds (my drink, as well as some asks for salsas and silverware, were forgotten), which is totally forgivable as I understand many restaurants have been understaffed over the past year. The menu is already pretty sizeable, so I am loath to say this, but I think it would be fantastic if they could offer some more unique dishes since they already seem to do the classics very well. They give back to local charities on Wednesdays, which is fantastic! I will definitely consider Mimosa for future brunches and look forward to trying the other dishes on their menu. We waited the 30 minutes that the host said it would take to get seated. At 30 minutes, there were open tables, I asked the host why we weren't being seated, and he said the kitchen was behind, so the manager instructed that no checked-in guests be seated for another 20-30 minutes. They don't take reservations unless its a party of 9 or more. It was Fathers Day, they should have planned better and had enough kitchen staff scheduled to work. BAD BUSINESS DECISIONS!!! Visited with a group of friends and got the choricero skillet along with their mimosas. The mimosa was quite delicious, but their choricero skillet was lacking. It seemed like my friends enjoyed their respective foods, so I'll definitely check back in again and try their other breakfast and lunch foods. Stopped in for what will likely be my last dine-in meal anywhere for awhile (thanks COVID spike!). My table had a great experience and were very impressed with their COVID setup. Hand sanitizer was available at the hostess stand, tables were well-spaces, booths had high dividers/backs, and every employee was masked correctly. Call ahead seating was available, and they request that you call to check in upon arrival so that you don't have to spend more time than necessary inside the building. The food was wonderful. After checking Yelp, I saw that the Pollo Picante omelet was highly reviewed, so that's what I chose. It was DELICIOUS. The omelet itself was a very deep yellow color, and EXTREMELY light and fluffy thanks to the extremely fresh eggs. The omelet is topped with juicy chicken and roasted red pepper garlic sauce and served wit a side of very flavorful and tender potatoes. In my opinion, at least based on what I got - the benedict with tomatoes and kale - the food was very average. I wouldn't NOT go here if someone wanted to go, but I'd try to go elsewhere. The English muffin was barely toasted and tasted a bit like grease (maybe from the cooktop?). The Hollandaise had no flavor and the "fried tomato" was just a tomato. I assumed this would be like a fried green tomato. A regular tomato isn't a "fried tomato." The kale too was just lightly wilted baby kale and was more like spinach, which was also unexpected and lacked flavor. Just wow. Currently my favorite brunch place, they were just so perfect. The service was phenomenal. All the staff was super friendly and kind. They had extra people coming around with coffee and water and bringing food and making sure everything was okay (this was also during a busy Sunday morning). They were so attentive and the speed of service was incredible. The food was just as great, everything tasted amazing! I always order a side of pancakes wherever I go and I have to say these are the best I've had and my new favorite. Awesome little brunch place we randomly chose. The staff, waitress, and bartender were all extremely friendly. The food was very delicious. We had a variety of things including skillets, bowls, pancakes, and breads. The butter and jams are so fresh and delicious. The pancakes were really good. I chose the gluten-free option for my bowl for a little extra protein and the quinoa was very well cooked and flavored. There was a roasted red pepper sauce on one of the dishes which was also very good and flavorful. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. read more

The 2/5 is not because of the taste of food. That is incredibly good and saves this from being a 1/5. However, the food can't make up for the lack of hospitality we constantly get here. I've been here 5 times and not once has there been a great server to take care of us. They nickel and dime you for every little thing and then never pay attention to your table. Our last visit with the skillet ordered we asked for some sauce. Whether it was hot sauce, salsa, or whatever sauce they put in it. The server was very quick to just run off when we asked for sauce and just said yea no problem, be right back. Well... Be right back was 30 minutes later to bring us the check. No check in, no water refill, nothing... If that wasn't bad enough there was a $1.00 charge for extra sauce that was never brought. I mentioned it to her and she looks over to the window and says oh I see it on the window would you like me to grab it? My simple answer was I don't think it's needed as the dish it was for is gone and I would just like that taken off the bill. We then had to wait 10 more minutes to pay. I highly recommend they work on training staff to serve better to match the quality of the food. read more

Both times I've visited, once on the weekend and once during the week, waitstaff has been apathetic, forgetful, inattentive, and uninterested. Food quality is going downhill. The mimosa potatoes are garbage; mushy and lukewarm and tasteless, and the rest of the fare is simply mediocre. During our most recent visit, the waitress wouldn't even make eye contact with us, never came to check on us, we had to beg to get the bill.. Just a miserable business. It's a charming walk up to the door, upon walking in I was welcomed by two hosts both whom were incredibly friendly and welcoming, I was immediately seated, given some water and offered a drink above and beyond the water! I found it really cool that they give you water in a stainless steel glass this is super classy- my server was very attentive and fast, I ordered a traditional breakfast with eggs and bacon and pancakes and potatoes. Stopped by Mimosa for brunch with a group of girlfriends and some of their kiddos. First of all, I love the vibe and appreciate that they are kid friendly. Ended up getting the chicken and waffles and they were ok, nothing to get too excited about. The chicken was a little dry but dousing it with syrup helped. Didn't end up getting any drinks, but they had great mimosa menu with the option of a pitcher to share for the table. Making a reservation for brunch was super easy and they were pretty accommodating- I'd definitely recommend giving them a try for brunch, especially for larger groups. read more
