Great visit here. Stopped on a weekday so there was plenty of room and we were seated quickly. My husband has preferences with his pancakes but really liked the blueberry multigrain pancake and compote with his breakfast. I loved the well-seasoned potatoes and multigrain toast with preserves. Stopped by early for Sunday brunch. We got there around 9 and could get seated right away for 2. They were quick to bring coffee, water, and an additional juice. The waitress was speedy and we could pay our bill right at the table which made the process easy. Now to the food - the lemon ricotta pancakes were ok. I don't think I'll order them again because they were fairly dry, even with the lemon ricotta topping. Very basic and they could have used more fruit topping or just something to make them more moist. The watermelon juice was a nice touch, and I did enjoy it. I don't think what we got was worth the price. I would prefer to go somewhere a little bit smaller and local for what we paid. read more

Came here with my husband for the first time when we were staying in Milwaukee and I absolutely loved this place! From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, we had stellar service and everyone was so friendly. I ordered the iced coffe, and it was smooth and delicious... I'd come here just for this! (Not really but kinda!) My husband ordered eggs Benedict and a side of sausage links, while I ordered the avocado toast with eggs over medium and a side of Million Dollar Bacon. THIS BACON. OMG. Let me tell you it's priceless and worth more than a million dollars. Basically it's just candied bacon with a bunch of maple syrup on it, but it's amazing if you like maple bacon! The avocado toast was also so fresh and full of flavor and the eggs were perfectly cooked so I could put it on top of the avocado toast and bite into it so the yolk would run a little bit all over it without making a huge mess. After leaving, I learned that this is actually a chain and that they have a new restaurant close to where we live, so I'm excited to continue my relationship with First Watch here near Chicago! Was craving something healthy near where I was at and found First Watch on Yelp. I immediately was drawn to the healthy menu options including the kale salad! I walked in and put my name on the list. I don't often dine alone but was in the area for an appointment. I was called in about 15 minutes (Saturday afternoon) and led to a well-lit corner table. The server immediately came by and asked me if what I wanted to drink. I opted for the blackberry iced tea which was fantastic and fresh. I ended up ordering a 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad: the monterey sandwich and the kale salad. The kale salad was delicious. I loved the flavors and textures and immediately gobbled it up. I personally found the monterey club a little too salty so I only had a few bites. Service was fantastic and I was able to get some work done while I ate. There is a small parking lot off to the side with spaces (if there aren't spaces in the large plaza). Would definitely return and bring someone! read more

Even though it's a chain, First Watch is one of my favorite brunch spots in the area. Every time I've visited, the food has been delicious. Today, I ordered the Belgian waffle. It was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The berry compote that accompanied the dish was a little tart, which complemented the sweetness of the waffle perfectly. However, it is a bit expensive for what you're actually getting. The Belgian waffle was listed on the menu for $9.49. In all honesty, I think this dish is worth half the price. The waffle isn't very large and it can be finished pretty quickly. This dish isn't filling at all, so I'd recommend ordering a side to go with it. Some berries on top would also be wonderful. The ambience at First Watch is great. The restaurant is decorated in a modern farmhouse aesthetic, which pairs well with what is offered on the menu. It is a bit loud inside, but it's bearable. There is plenty of seating inside and a few tables outdoors on the patio. I have always been seated as soon as I walked in. I'd ask for a booth because the tables themselves are a little too close together. Also, there is plenty of parking outside the restaurant. Our server today was pretty good. He got our orders right away and the food came out quickly. However, he didn't return to check up on my party and the bill was slapped on our table about fifteen minutes after our food was delivered. It all felt very rushed. All in all, I would recommend visiting First Watch. The food is yummy and the service is quick - there's not much more you could ask for. read more

My husband and I were running errands on a Saturday afternoon out in Brookfield and stumbled upon this place. We both noted our enjoyment of the atmosphere as soon as we sat down - kind of like diner vibes, but nicer. The decor is cute, making the place feel inviting. After being immediately sat, a server dropped us some menus and I knew right away it was going to be tough to decide. Their options range from all-things-breakfast (omelets, griddles, power bowls, and avo toasts) to a wide range of soups, salads and sandwiches. There's even a "healthier side" as listed on the menu, which I always appreciate. Luckily they have a "pick two" option allowing for you to combine items. In the end, I went for 1/2 of the monterey club sammie and a cup of tomato basil soup. The sandwich was damn good, packed with turkey, bacon, avocado, organic mixed greens, tomato, and monterey jack cheese atop of squishy sourdough. I was also a big fan of the creamy soup. Everything is fresh and made to order here. Service is SO fast. Parking is easy and accessible. There's patio seating options available. Five star experience all around. read more

The service was poor. I ordered the shrimp/grits which was really good. My husband ordered the french toast. It was dry at first bite; thus, he requested to order the shrimp/grits. The french toast was not removed from the bill, though the waitress took the plate away from the table. We would have preferred to give it to the homeless since we were paying for it. My husband's shrimp/grits was missing the sausage. The waitress informed my husband he had been given the wrong plate. It was taken away, and he was given another plate of shrimp/grits. That plate was missing the bread. With both dishes, he would've needed a new fork (bc the fork was taken with the french toast when it was taken away). He was not given a fork though one was requested. He ate it with a spoon until I made a second request for the fork. He only ate half of the shrimp/grits bc the grits were watery (unlike my plate). What appeared to be a host came to the table and asked if our meals were satisfactory. It appeared to be a disingenuous question that he asked robotically as a part of is routine. Before my husband could answer the question, the host grabbed the plates from the table and walked away. The only thing he enjoyed was his drink. The bill totaled about $80, and half of the bill was food that was not prepared well. This was our first time trying this restaurant. It was a huge disappointment. read more

I came here with my family last Sunday. When the meal came, they forgot to bring syrup for the grandkids pancakes and the hot tea my wife ordered. When they did, they reached across my plate to place the syrup on the table and again to give my wife her tea. The bill was $77. When I saw the tipping options I almost lost it. The lowest suggested amount was 20%!!!! I had the option of giving 20%, 22% or an outrageous 25%!!!! That isn't a tip. Those are wages! The 20% tip I selected came to $14. For what? Forgetting the syrup and tea and reaching across my plate twice? And when did tips become so incredibly stupid? 25%???? $14 for a couple of minutes worth of work? You have GOT to be kidding. Pay your waitstaff decently and stop brow-beating customers into giving ridiculous tips. I think it will be a long time before I come to First Watch again. read more

Food is usually pretty good. I ordered their soup last weekend and it was Italian wedding. It was, however, straight from a Progresso can. I mean, exactly. On the way out, I asked if the Italian wedding was homemade, and the guy behind the register said " well, it's a proprietary blend, but it is made offsite..." yeah, by Progresso. Menu wise, expect breakfast, brunch and lunch classics with lots of choices. I opted for the trifecta ($11) which netted me a waffle, 2 eggs and a turkey sausage patty. Everything was cooked well, including my eggs and tasted good. I especially liked the small ramekin of raspberry compote that came with - it was served warm and wasn't overly sweet. We go out for breakfast and brunch (as a family and for business meals) quite a bit. Have been to many different places. First Watch stands apart for the quality of its food, the excellent service and bright and clean interior. To start, their Juice Bar juices are awesome. The Purple Haze and Kale Tonic are our family's go-to drinks to freshen the mouth. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and there are plenty of choices for meat lovers as well as vegetarians. My favorite omelet is the Frittata Rustica - a delicious change from the greasy, cheese laden omelets you find elsewhere. You should try their pancakes too as they just have a healthier, more flavorful taste than most places. And of course, the never ending pot of coffee is a nice addition. Staff is friendly, attentive and takes good care of us no matter how busy they are. I do advise you take advantage of their call-ahead waitlist to avoid waiting, especially on weekends. read more

I also opted for a side order of $1,000,000 Bacon but was disappointed in the quality for and extra $5. My wife had one of those healthy power bowls and she says it was good, even had some leftover to have later, very filling. The server was very nice and knowledgeable.
