This is everything I want in a breakfast joint. Good quality food and innovative. First off all i would like to add that we waited for this place for over 40 mons and it was worth the wait. This is exactly what I am talking about, doing good quality food just right and then putting a little twang on it. I see you First Watch, I do. Crab avocado toast - Just when you thought avocado toast couldn't get any better. BAM, add some crabcake-esque crab meat on that joint and issa meal. Its really good. I had this specialty drink I saw a picture of on the table and pointed to it. It was like a purple lemonade and it looked so cool with it half and half looking untill we stirried it. It tasted like what dreams are made of. lol What was that? I need more. I would never come back to First Watch again because the food was cold and its portion sizes very small. I ordered the trifecta; the eggs were not scrambled soft as I asked, the pancake was large, but very cold, and the chicken sausage was burnt, and cold. Even the water glasses looked dirty, covered in watermarks. The service was good, our server was very friendly and welcoming, and the manager eventually fixed only one of our orders. The space itself is kind of cute, but sitting on the chairs for an extended period of time will start to hurt. read more

Everyone seemed to be ordering the pomegranate and pear juice, looked good but our party did not try it. We ordered black coffee and the crunchy Carmel cinnamon roll to start. It was delicious! I had the market skillet which tasted fresh. The toast is loaded with butter so request it on the side if you would prefer less. Our waitress seemed very busy and forgot water for one member of our party and forgot to bring us boxes. One of the other staff members brought boxes when we requested. Maybe I'm a bit of a snob, but I wasn't as over the moon thrilled with First Watch as I hoped I would be. It was still delicious (hence the average), but I've had better brunch and for me the experience didn't live up to the hype. They have a nice extensive menu with options from sweet to savory so everyone can have a few options. My friend that I was with also asked a pretty specific question about the oats they used and our waiter came back with the canister to show her which she appreciated. The avocado toast was delicious, but pretty standard, nothing over the top special. And for almost $10 I guess I was hoping for something that made it stand out to me. And I'm probably just a lush, but what's brunch without a mimosa or a bloody mary (at least in Milwaukee!)? First Watch is definitely more of a family friendly brunch place. And you should go once just to go. But it is a chain and I personally enjoy stand-alone brunch places better since they seem to be a little more creative with their menus. Also get there early, because if you don't you're going to be waiting a loooooong time, and then it's definitely not worth it. read more

Pumpkin pancake breakfast is back! I was tempted to just make that my review because that is all the information that's needed. I don't look forward to pumpkin candles or Halloween. I look forward to this pancake. It's so simple yet so delicious. Delicately pumpkin flavored, this pancake is the size of the plate and yet you are left wanting more. It's fluffy, delicious and sweet enough to not even need syrup. Coupled with scrambled eggs and a sausage patty, this breakfast is a great combination of sweet, savory and seasonal. Run don't walk to your nearest First Watch for this pancake breakfast. Side note about the Brookfield location. The staff are incredible. Very attentive! While I've had a few decent experiences at different locations of this chain, today's was not one of them. Eggs Benedict for my wife took an additional 20 minutes after everyone at the table were served. Then, it was runny, undercooked and the toast wasn't toasted. I know, first world problems, right? Still, that pretty much made the whole experience suck for all of us at breakfast because when one person is unhappy then it spoils the mood. But, to top it off I found a hair in my potatoes. Nasty. Yeah, they took the eggs off the bill but by that time we found ourselves saying in unison, "Well, we sure aren't coming back to this place." Looks like we need to go back to Zisters or Mad Rooster for our breakfast. Sad.UPDATE: food poisoning from the eggs. Never going back! Zero stars. read more

Had high hopes for this place since we enjoy the First Watch in CO. This one didn't have the family vibe nor quality. The same dish, short rib Benedict (?) I have ordered in CO came out here with less meat and the eggs were cooked hard as a rock. When the server saw my eggs, they did fix it but it doesn't make me happy. She was nice enough to offer the potatoes or side salad for me to eat while it was being corrected which was nice. We were enticed here by a birthday email offer which paid for one entree! The Floridian French Toast was a hit! It was 2 thick slices of brioche topped with a heap of sliced bananas, kiwi, strawberries, powdered sugar and a side of raspberry? jam. A warm cruet of maple syrup and a side order of bacon completed the offering. My wife had the Bacado, an omelet with bacon, avocado and Monterrey Jack cheese. Coffee was served in a pot which was left on the table to refill our cups as needed. All the items were served hot and delicious. We were fortunate to hit a lull at 10am which soon transitioned to a slight wait after we were seated. Other times here we had up to a half hour wait, so plan accordingly! read more

Clearly to go orders don't matter that much. We got the bare minimum with our order. We ordered a kids French toast and when we got it the whole side of it was burnt. We asked for no berry preserves or powdered sugar and that was too difficult to do. Asked that the omelet not have mushrooms or sausage, that was also a difficult ask. Have never had issues with first watch that's why we choose it each time but I wouldn't eat at this one again. read more

Fantastic Brunch! My family and I frequent First Watch after church on Sunday's. As expected it is always pretty busy, as most great brunch spots are on Sundays, but we still are usually seated pretty quickly. They grab your name and add you to a list and then can text you when a table is ready which we leave because sometimes while we wait we can run to TJ maxx or the grocery store next door while we wait. Once we are seated I always start with one of their fresh juices and have yet to be disappointed! Then I move on to struggling with what to get off of the menu! I have had the avocado toast which is delicious! It comes with a basted egg on top. I am not the biggest fan of their potatoes and wish they would offer hash browns also but that's okay. I have also tried a few sandwiches, scramblers and some delicious lemon french toast. Nothing has really let me down yet. The food is fresh, the service is always prompt. The only thing that doesn't give this a perfect review is that their atmosphere isn't really anything great. Its clean and bright but I think they could do better! read more

We stopped in for a little late breakfast. makes us the Second Watch. there were 4 other empty tables and they quickly filled before or meals came. *warning NO BACON* This seems to be a smaller location compared to the ones that I have been to, the menu is the same. We had 3 adults and a 9 month old. They had a baby seat, with a little bit of crumbs in it, no big deal since it was going to get a wipe down anyway from mom. The staff was pleasant, the manager helped to get us a table. We forgot a bib for baby but the server got us a few napkins, along with checking on us and food. The meals came quickly. We Ordered 2 turkey sausage gravies with eggs biscuits and potatoes. And a Trifecta. My meal was OK although I wished my potato could have been more crispy. It had a light taste of onion and very light amt of salt to it. The food was OK... standard .....the standard breakfast. The entrees were average. simple and basic. nothing too fancy to see here. Move along! Belgian waffles were light and compote filled with fresh fruits raspberry and blueberry, biscuits were fresh although the gravy was a little thinner than what i prefer. I had to add more seasoning. The atmosphere: clean bright open. Plenty of families and a mix of young and old couples. The have two larger self serve coffee and a pile of newspaper near the entry for those waiting for tables to open up. Value: plenty of meals for under $9.00 So its not too expensive. Fill out the card to be in the club and they will send you a free entree for your birthday and special notices via email. As a total carnivore who likes pork products and reflecting on my turkey product breakfast after having the left overs of the bubbas Benny I still think this was a tasty concoction. The breakfast was totally enjoyable with the lack of beef or pork products. For a chain restaurant which I have mostly avoided for most of my reviews I am opening up to chains and giving everyone a chance lately and I really enjoyed my breakfast. We have had brunch at First Watch several times now. Each time is usually with a larger group (family) and there is usually a sizable wait. So don't come starving unless maybe it's a party of two. They do allow you to do no wait - which is available through Yelp, which would definitely help not to crowd in their waiting area for an hour. The staff here is always pleasant and polite. Once we're seated the service is prompt - probably to help with the turnover time. We started with coffee and juices. My sister and I ordered the Morning Meditation juice and thought it was both beautiful and tasty! I tried "The Works" omelet this time - as I knew their bacado was a favorite of mine, I wanted to branch out. With me being so adventurous, that meant throwing different toppings on the omelet. I wasn't disappointed. It is served with breakfast potatoes. That's the one thing I wouldn't mind is them having hash browns as an option - they always will win over cubed potatoes for me! We were celebrating a birthday so we went all out and ordered an order of the seasonal option "Million Dollar Bacon" which is drizzled with maple syrup and was delicious! We also added the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes to split amongst the table and all fought over the divvying up of those as well. First Watch will continue to be on my list as a brunch option, as they are consistently delightful, plus they have something for everyone to be satisfied, including many fresh healthier options. read more

It's official. It may technically be part of a chain. It is definitely right up the street from our new house. It is also one of the best places in town to get breakfast. It's affordable ("for Brookfield") and arguably more affordable than some of breakfast places that have been established in the area for a while. The service is excellent. The last two (October and November) seasonal menus have been super fun to explore. I absolutely love the blackberry ice tea. It's the first place, I've been exited to go to for breakfast/brunch in a while. I'm yet to be disappointed with anything I've ordered or tried that my husband has ordered. I've been there over 5 times in less than a month and I've only had one thing twice because it was on a seasonal menu and I love mushrooms that much. It's got this perfect balance between lots of healthy options for the foodies, millennials, health nuts amount us and enough traditional options for the baby boomers and others we all know and love a good pancake or a eggs with toast. I have to admit the first time they served me a frittata with salad on it, I was skeptical but I'll definitely join my friends and family at First Watch any morning I'm not sleeping in ;). Highly recommend getting there early or getting in the waitlist opposed to just walking in. This place is frequently packed out. read more

Came here to meet a friend closer to the Brookfield area for convenience and chose this spot after doing some Yelp/Google research. The coffee was delicious and I loved that they left a whole carafe at each table that ordered coffee - could really get my Sunday morning caffeine buzz going with no interruptions. Really liked the variety offered on the menu (one of the reasons I selected this spot) but I'm a sucker for anything smoked salmon so I obviously ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict. Was not a fan of the ciabatta at all- just kind of tasted like something you'd get at like a Subway or Quiznos type place. Cold, bland, super generic. The rest of the dish was decent in flavor but just rather ordinary and unfortunately the bread detracted from the dish. Overall I may have just ordered incorrectly - but at present I'm not dying to go to this spot again. read more
