Arrived at noon on a Sunday so it was busy, expect to wait a bit for your food should you come on a Sunday noon. Nice family restaurant. I had he chicken dumpling soup that hit the spot. I've had several in the Mikwaukee and surrounding areas and this is one of my favorites. The flavor was just right and the dumplings were more hardy.

We love Melrose! Always affordable and the food is always super good! I really like the skillet breakfasts and omelettes! Their burgers are great too!

What was once owned by two settlers is now recently owned by a new family that decided to change nothing of the menu when purchased because of what a local favorite restaurant this is, and I can see why. Warm welcomes, great staff, amazing and well-priced drinks! No wonder this place is a spot for locals and travelers! My mom got the Greek breakfast, my father the biscuits and gravy and I got the chicken and waffles with ROSEMARY SYRUP. oh-em-geeeeeee that syrup was so good I think I'm going to start infusing my syrup with it at home! Seriously, what a great idea! Needless to say, we all devoured our delicious meals and my mom and I usually don't finish it but the lamb in her omelette was juicy and crispy that just perfected the omelette. Good chunks of meat in the gravy and a lovely, and not dry, biscuit underneath for my dads meal. I highly suggest coming here if you're in the area looking for a great breakfast with a hometown feel and an overall great experience. Look no further than MelRose! And you won't be disappointed!

We had a great brunch at Melrose this past weekend. A little fuzzy from a family reunion the day before, this seemed like the perfect place for some comfort foods and a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary is absolutely crazy looking when it arrives at your table. I got the Greek Bloody and it can with half a meal attached to it. I was afraid I was going to be full by the time my actual food came. The skillet was pretty good. Nothing that stood out specifically but exactly what it was billed to be. Delicious, slightly greasy, and lots of flavors melded together. Overall this was a great experience. Service is friendly & prompt, restaurant is pretty clean, and food is great. What's not to love?

Decided to try this place for a late breakfast and we were very satisfied. We had some basic breakfast dishes like biscuits and gravy, the Melrose skillet with ham and other toppings and an egg dish with bacon toast etc. Everyone loved their dishes, the bacon is sooo delicious! So is the tomato juice. I also ordered a cup of chicken dumpling soup, that was great too. I'm pretty sure the OJ is freshly squeezed, quite tasty. When I come back into town I will definitely stop back in.

A high-end, fancy brunch Melrose is not, but on Mothers Day, it also did not have a two-plus hour wait (three-plus at Blue's Egg. I won't even wait that long for Space Mountain. We didn't even wait as long as the host estimated. For a family-style restaurant, they had some impressive Bloody Mary options. A mini burger garnish will offset most grumbles. Food was good though they were out of a couple prominently featured menu items. They managed to do a perfect poached egg which lands them in four-star territory. If I'm heading to Ikea or the zoo, I've got a solid option.

Melrose is very unique for a Greek family restaurant and their breakfast is great. They have different kinds of homemade jelly, fresh cream for your coffee, pancakes made fresh from scratch, delicious cubed potatoes, and I'm sure there's much more I haven't mentioned or tried! The first thing that will capture your eyes is the entrance, the ceilings architecture above really stood out to me. The restaurant is very clean, the staff has always been great, and the food is normally really good. I say normally because our last visit we had the tzatziki sauce with the Greek omelet and it had a large amount of garlic in it making it almost inedible; I've had it before and I will say that's not the norm. On the plus side, your coffee never goes empty! Overall, good breakfast spot and I recommend giving it a try if you haven't already!

You know you're from Wisconsin when you're covering your scrambled eggs AND hash browns in cheese.

I've eaten here many times and always default to the same order: hot chocolate with whipped cream, bacon and cheddar cheese omelette with hash browns and wheat toast. I'm not sure I'll ever order anything other than breakfast food here. It's always decent. I only ever seem to come here late at night. It's always a good place to catch up with friends and family when I'm in town. Service was good. Our waitress had a great sense of humor and was attentive. She didn't think it was weird at all when one of my sisters ordered a margarita along with her scrambled eggs which was a decision that greatly amused me. My other sister ordered the club sandwich and thought it was good.

This dish was SO good. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The shrimp were super flavorful with garlic. I love their breakfast potatoes, very crispy and so tasteful. My daughter got the mini pancakes, which were technically just regular sized pancakes and she loved them! They had an amazing vanilla flavor. She is 37 weeks pregnant so having something sweet was really hitting the spot for her.

These were next level and our little one's eyes got so big and bright when we walked in. Then things went downhill - we got there right at 11am when they opened and we were seated at a table in the back by a hallway that had a draft. I asked if we could sit in the big room with more for my daughter to look at while we dined in. The waitress in that space rudely said "no" stating the room was still being cleaned and tables set up - major bummer. Our actual waitress was very sweet and attentive. We ordered a Mediterranean rice bowl (without meat so it was vegetarian-friendly), a Philly with onion strings and a slice of their seasonal peppermint cheesecake. The food was mediocre. The bowl was lacking and a small portion. If someone doesn't add a protein it would be nice if you at least added some more rice or cut the price down. Just my two cents. And there was a piece of metal in the onion rings which the waitress thought was from the scrubber they used to clean the equipment in back. They comped the Philly meal with the onion rings which I felt was the least they could do. I get it - things happen - and we didn't make a big deal about it but that's a deal breaker for us. Especially if our toddler is eating out with us because then I'm on edge waiting for the metal to make a repeat appearance and that's not enjoyable for anyone.
