Get ready for the best service for breakfast. Oak Creek diner is really smart to have a designated server for drinks. Keeping everybody's coffee filled is a full-time job and keeps everybody happy and frees up the servers to focus on the food. The steak was cooked to my request, it was flavorful, I wanted the fillet, but it was not available. There is some question as to whether it is no longer offered ever or just out temporarily the fillet on the menu was $32 if I remember correctly. Coffee was good, everything was delicious. Service was excellent and I'm going to tell you that they have some very hard-working staff members there the kind that every owner wishes they could acquire. Really a great job. Headed back to Chicago and stopped by this Diner and was pleasantly surprised with how quick the service was and how great the food was. The ambiance is that of a rural, friendly, bustling diner with regulars at the bar and families at every table. I got a fairly simply veggie skillet and coffee, both were exactly what you expect and want. What surprised me was the quality of the veggies compared to what I've had at other diners. They are fast and efficient. Came here for the first time for breakfast with a friend. It's a plain-looking building with a parking lot out front and a few small windows. Inside, there's a counter area and a larger dining room to the left. It was early Friday morning. We were greeted and seated right away, with waters and beverages brought shortly after. The server checked back with us several times before we were ready to order. The menu selection is standard breakfast fare -- eggs, omelets, skillets, pancakes, country fried steak, etc. (You won't find avocado toast or lox and bagels here.) Our omelets came out almost before we ordered them :) My veggie omelet was straightforward but under-seasoned, so I added some salt and pepper. The accompanying English muffin was fine, though it could have been toasted a bit more. Went for breakfast on a (snowy) Sunday morning, got seated right away. Staff were kind and attentive, serving us coffee right away. We are big fans of diner milkshakes so that was an added bonus to see available on the menu (and delicious)! Staying at a hotel near the airport and had to find an early AM breakfast spot before hitting the road out of town. Oak Creek Diner opened super early, was close by, so it fit the bill. We walked in before 7am and the place was already packed. Service was friendly and fast, the meals were huge, and were tasty and well prepared. My daughter has the 2+2+2 and I had a full breakfast with gyro meat. Her scrambled eggs were a touch soft but otherwise no complaints. The food was very good I had two eggs and hashbrowns with Canadian bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the waitress was awesome the place was crowded and there was a 30-minute wait which is good because that tells me folks like this establishment. This is an excellent diner that our friends recommended after we picked them up from the Milwaukee airport. The parking lot was full, which was a good sign, and we had to wait about 10 minutes on this Sunday morning for a table. Their menu is large with a lot of options. Wow! What a great lunch experience! Being in town for a few weeks on work, I was looking for a place that wasn't a chain or fast food. I was also looking for a place that was reasonable priced and quick for lunch. This was just the place! The atmosphere was bustling and welcoming if even a little to busy for a "quick lunch ". I asked my wife to pick A or B because I couldn't decide which restaurant to stop at for breakfast on a morning off from work and B (Oak Creek Diner) was the selection. I ordered the meatlovers omelette (sausage, bacon, ham, and American cheese) which came with a choice of potatoes or fruit (I chose hashbrowns) and a choice of toast or mini pancakes (I chose mini pancakes). I also ordered a side of Texas toast. The toast could have had butter spread to the edges by default instead of a glob in the middle, but it wasn't hard to spread on my own. The hashbrowns were cooked well, but were not seasoned by default, making them a blank canvas for you to add your own salt, pepper, ketchup, etc. The pancakes were slightly on the sweet side before the syrup, which I liked, and had a good balance between not too fluffy and not too dense. The ham was very prevalent in the omelette while the bacon was completely and sadly unnoticeable. All in all, nothing in particular stood out as awful or specifically worth coming back for. We both ordered the biscuits and gravy served with eggs and hash browns. We each had coffee. We were seated after 10 minutes. As busy as it was, the service was outstanding. The hollandaise sauce had too much butter in my opinion and could have used more lemon juice. I also had a side order of latkes (potato pancakes). These were some of the best latkes I have had in a LONG time. They were crispy, oniony, and made with fresh shredded potato. Most diners serving potato pancakes just buy frozen patties and heat them. Definitely a better experience than last time we went with our Native American elder friend and his live-in roommate. The staff was patient with us. I believe last time they threw us in the back room, and I guess it was Echoey To our elderly friends, and I believe I had the French dip last time it had no au juice and no Swiss cheese or provolone or anything like that on it and it was dry. I didn't realize that it wasn't a true French dip but this time I had an omelette I believe the farmers omelette, but I took out the green peppers put the bacon on the side had some cheesy hashbrowns and a ton of coffee and being that the staff was patient with us waiting on our friends to get there they were accommodating, and even though my fiancé was with me we had a really cute waitress Who is at least all bubbly. Second time coming here it's a very fantastic experience. When I went there yesterday with my daughter, grandson and my husband, they sat us down so quick. We didn't have to wait to sit down. First we got our menus, then they ask you if you want coffee, they serve it to you there and other hot drinks, with the guy that cleans the tables, he was very friendly. Our server was also very friendly, she took our orders my husband and my grandchild had breakfast. As for me and my daughter we had lunch. My plate was the French Dip with sweet potato fries it was delicious. My daughter had the chicken sandwich with fries, the sandwich was huge. I drank some French vanilla cappuccino with some whip cream so good. Next time I go there I'll see if I try their salad or wrap. I recommend this place if you in the Oak Creek area. Best biscuits and gravy I've had north of the Mason Dixon line. Great place for American breakfast food, and who knows about anything else on their menu. If you're coming here for anything but breakfast and coffee I just don't know what your problem is. Always busy but the service is prompt so don't be daunted by having to wait a few minutes. Just make sure you're exercising, taking your statin, and getting your 30 grams of fiber (won't find it here) and this can become a regular morning stop. If you're from out of town, this is a very short drive or Uber from the airport or airport area hotels, it's the nearest breakfast place to MATC Oak Creek (where they don't serve a hot breakfast anymore), and it's right next to I-94/41 (just east) between the Rawson and College exits. I think you can get a semi into their parking lot if you're good. read more
