Be mindful of the parking as the place does get really busy and it's not a huge place. The biscuits and gravy had a slightly different recipe than I'm used to but it was still great!!! My daughter and I spent another Spring Break in Lakr Geneva and came here for lunch at 2:45 not realizing that they close at 3:00. They were really nice and let us come in and didn't rush us at all. Our server Javier was nice, as was Joni's daughter. I had the patty melt which was excellent and she had the chicken BLT. We both had the fries for our side and those were good too. I spent two nights in Lake Geneva for a weekend wedding and visited Joni's for breakfast on Saturday morning. I had such a delightful experience that I returned for breakfast on Sunday. Joni's is a chrome shop, a diner from days gone by, and it took me back 50 years to the diners of my childhood. Service was efficient and friendly. Coffee was on the table within 3 minutes for both of my visits. Give me coffee on a weekend morning and the rest can take its time. Joni's prepares its breakfasts the way they should be prepared -- Nothing overly complex, but everything properly cooked. Thoroughly enjoyed my omelettes and home fries both days, and my son enjoyed his pancakes. That's what I look for -- how happy am I when I walk out of the restaurant. Prefer a less dense English muffin but with extra sauce it didn't stop me. The Banana Bread French toast is a must! Enough said. We found the cutest diner in Lake Geneva for breakfast, a throwback to the 1950's. Built, in 1954, the structure made its way from Connecticut to Illinois where it became Joni's Diner. The old time atmosphere is charming. You won't find cappuccinos, but you will find good American food. This diner is busy popular so we grabbed a seat at the counter to get in. Our server was nice, although she didn't introduce herself and I had to ask for a glass of water. I had the Green Machine omelet with spinach, green onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. My husband had the Big E, with everything - onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, bacon, sausage, ham, potatoes, cheddar & sour cream. Whew! I'm not one for writing 2 star reviews but I have to because my experience here was bad the minute I ordered. On our last day in Lake Geneva, we visited Joni's for Brunch. It was packed on our Saturday arrival and the hostess informed us it would be a 15-minute wait. The entrance was already cramped with people waiting for a table so we remained outside until standing space was available. When it was our turn, instead of opting for a booth, we took the next available and found a pair of seats at the counter. We both ordered breakfasts. My husband ordered a Denver omelet and I got the Two Eggs + Meat combo. Both my husband and I specifically asked for our hash browns to be made extra crispy. His hash browns came out as requested while mine did not. I asked to have them redo my hash browns which prompted our server to return my plate to the kitchen. I assumed it was going to take a few minutes which it did but when I got my plate back, my hash browns appeared how they did the first time around (soggy and pasty) so I had to send it back a SECOND time! While waiting around for my food to arrive again, my husband ended up finishing his meal and 30 minutes later, I'm still waiting on my food! I'm already starving. I haven't had anything all morning and it's past 1pm. The server quickly apologized but that didn't make up for it at all. read more

We came around 11am on a Saturday and we're able to grab a table right away, around 11:30ish it definitely filled up so we were super lucky. The parking lot is pretty small and the line builds up fast so I recommend going early or at odd times to beat the rush. The food was great!
