Mars is an essential experience in the Lake Geneva area. It's not bougie nor pretensions. It's quintessential Wisconsin supper club dining and it's absolutely enjoyable. I don't think they take reservations, but tables turn fairly quickly. Part of the charm is hanging out and enjoying the scene. Staff is super nice. Sit at the bar if you get a chance. Bartenders are helpful and social. The food is good. If you get the ribs ask for Cisco style. It's a dry rub with sauce on the side. Portions are generous. Prices are fair. Drinks are good. Live entertainment on weekends. Parking can be at a premium on busy summer weekends.

This place kills it every time. I swear everything on the menu is great, but their charred chicken and ribs are my two favorite things. The ribs might be the best I've ever had, fall off the bone and delicious. But the charred chicken is out of this world too. We've also come on Wednesdays or Fridays for their fish fry, which is fantastic (I like the walleye best, myself). They have a full bar, as well as a full outdoor space, complete with a small beach! Fun lively atmosphere, and it's always packed. The only downside of this place is sometimes the wait times are long, but it's easy to plan for it (or just come early)

I have been to a lot of Supper Clubs in my days And I really love them. well Mars is Outstanding! We come in on a Friday night early and the place was packed. we ordered serval Brandy Old fashioned and sat at the bar. The patrons were all friendly as was the staff. we sat down about 30 minutes later. Our server came up and offered us more drink which we obliged . Food wise I had the Halibut which was perfectly cooked and amazing and the potatoes pancakes which were also great. My husband had the fried chicken which wasn't greasy but sooo flavorful. What a great spot! We will definitely be back!!

Mars Resort has been a favorite spot for my parents for years--they've been here dozens of times! This was my first visit, and I finally understand why they love it here. The food was incredible. I ordered the baked cod special for $17 (available only on Wednesdays and Fridays), and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also appreciated the generous portion of lemon wedges, which added the perfect touch of acidity. My husband had the Grecian pork chops ($30) and enjoyed them. One standout dish was the Mars Monster Burger ($16)--our friend ordered it, and we all couldn't help but stare because it was massive and looked delicious. Most of our table also ordered a delicious cup of chili! Across the board, we all agreed: the food at Mars Resort is fantastic! On top of the great food, the service was excellent. Our waitress was quick, attentive, and incredibly friendly, making sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. She added to the overall experience and made us feel welcome, especially because I know having a table with many guests can feel daunting. The atmosphere of the interior is warm and inviting with a vintage charm that adds to its character. Everything was clean and comfortable, though one thing to note is that the bathrooms, located between the front doors and the second set of doors, are extremely small. Overall, I can't wait to return hopefully in the summer to experience it all over again, this time with that beautiful lakefront view!

So, we waited 1 hour for a table, but thats not the issue. We expected good food, my Salmon Sandwich was dry as hell, and they gave me honey mustard on the side. The sandwich was actually dry as hell, really bad. And my brother got the fish sandwich with chips, and they gave him store bought chips, sandwich itself was alright, kinda mid. Also, my other brother got half rack of ribs, DRY AS HELL???! We were told this place was known for their ribs but we were thoroughly disappointed. Overall, bad experience, long ass wait with some mid ass food. Left unhappy and disappointed. The view was good though, so thats cool.

Ribs & Fried Chicken both excellent - A meal featuring barbecue ribs, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with butter, and two dipping sauces on a ceramic plate.

This beachside resort/restaurant/ bar/ beach bar is killer. The time we were there they did not take reservations. We were lucky enough to find seats at the bar but was not able to put in a dinner order due to some kind of priority system with the restaurant and the bar. We did finally get a table next to the entry/exit door with many hungry customers waiting for a table. Certainly not ideal but we are seated and not waiting. Service was excellent and so were the drinks and food. The ribs are as advertised. I loved them along with the excellent fried chicken and loaded baked tater. In fact we'll be going back next week for the fish fry on Wednesdays and Fridays where they serve cod, perch, walleye and blue gill fried and baked. They do have a full menu and a beach menu for the outside bunch. Very crowded with a small parking lot so pile everyone one vehicle and hope to find a spot!

Enjoyed their Friday fish fry...it was amazing! If you're in a hurry, this is not your place. We arrived and had a 60 minute wait. Had a couple drinks at the bar while we waited for a table. Food did not come out quickly, but we were there for a relaxing meal, and the service was amazing! The fish was cooked to perfection, and the fries were golden and crispy. I highly recommend this establishment. The only drawback is minimal parking. We parked about a half a mile away. Worth the walk.

Great location on Lake Cuomo! Long wait times average 1.5-2 hours on weekends; however, there is plenty of lakeside seating while you wait. During the Summer, Mars offers complimentary boat rides around the lake while you wait, which was perfect for enjoying a cocktail and enjoying the sunset! Go for the fish fry and ribs. They usually offer 3-4 seafood offerings for the fish fry, which is great for sharing. Service was awesome and the vibe is lively and features lounge entertainment. Would recommend if you

Total Gem! 5 stars. This was our first experience and other friends from the Chicago area said this is a must and they were correct! We had to wait 90 minutes no big deal but the service was excellent. My wife split a full rib slab, and it was more than enough for late 60 yo. Baked potatoes and coleslaw was perfect combination. Very pleased !

Happy hour the "beach" while we wait for our table! What a fun place and atmosphere!

Amazing views of Lake Como I had seen on travel videos had me venturing out to the Mars Resort. It's just a short drive away from Lake Geneva, so worth the detour for dining/drinks with a great waterfront/sunset view. Parking was sparse on a weeknight at the start of offseason just after Labor Day, so can't imagine how difficult it must be during peak summer season. I arrived just before sunset, so only stayed to enjoy the lake views out on the backside of the property where there's plenty of outdoor seating with excellent Lake Como views. The interiors of the restaurant seemed a bit drab, but it is a historic property dating back to 1923. While I'm not sure Mars Resort is worth a visit for a meal (the menu on their website doesn't include prices, which I'm always a bit wary of), you are in for a treat on a sunny day if you like water/sunset views.

Waiting outside for our table - Lakeside patio with chairs overlooking Lake Como, featuring a thatched roof and a railing with colorful cloths hanging to dry.

Maxwell Mansion is a wedding venue, motel and a cocktail bar. I was here mostly for the cocktail…read morebar, but I did get a tour of the mansion and grounds. The mansion was built in 1856, making it the first mansion in Lake Geneva. The estate has been completely redone but charming details were kept. Along with a mansion where you can book a room, Maxwell also includes beautiful gardens, lounges, outdoor fireplaces, a heated pool, croquet and bocce ball. There is also a separate area in the back with motel rooms. Like I said, I was there for a lil' drink. There's a bar inside the mansion (Apothecary Bar) with all kinds of medical and druggist paraphernalia, with the space being a tribute to Dr. Philip Maxwell. But it's the speakeasy, which is accessible outside in the front of the house, that you'll want to visit. Ask for the password inside the mansion, and they will let you into a dark, below-ground bar. It's all decorated in prohibitionist flyers, and even the bartenders are dressed up in period costumes. It's a really cool and unique bar in Lake Geneva.

A friendly helpful bartender, explained all their creative cocktails, shared the pub food that they offered, and answered questions. We ordered a flatbread pizza and a spinach artichoke dip as well as a couple of cocktails. They served us at a table where we sat on a couch in a room just across the hall and were quite comfortable. On Tuesdays, they offer a $49 tasting menu. The portions were large enough I couldn't finish…read moreeverything despite being voracious. While there was a spread, the meal was above average overall. The breakdown: 1st course - Parkerhouse Rolls: I have to give them points for showmanship. The beef tallow candle is a bona-fide candle! While there is an element of gimmickiness, it creates a fresh-tasting warm dip. The rolls themselves, while not the best bread I've ever had, were fresh, of perfect density, and wonderfully herbaceous. I give these a 8/10. 2nd course - Kale Caesar Salad: This is one where I tried a couple of forkfuls, and then said I didn't want anymore. I can award some consolation points for a healthy amount of parmesan, and accoutrements of garlic breadcrumbs, almonds, and egg yolk. Outside of these, however, the star of the show was a basic caesar dressing with kale that didn't taste much like anything. I give this a 2/10 3rd course - Grilled Oysters: This was hands down my favorite dish of the evening. I thought I wasn't a fan of cooked oysters, until I had these. The smell was as smoky as a campfire, the oysters cooked perfectly with a herbaceous and slightly acidic sauce and no fishiness! It reminded me of stupendously executed escargot. This dish deserves an 11/10. 4th course - Crispy Shrimp: The shrimp themselves were cooked well, and had an almost too-light breading. What helped elevate this dish was everything else. herbs, spices, sauce, olives, tomatoes, and greens all worked together well. It added savory, fresh, and acidic notes to the dish. An 8/10 from me. 5th course - Duck Confit Cigars: I appreciate what they were going for here, but the dish felt a little uninspired. They seemed more like a simple appetizer of duck rolled inside phyllo/wonton dough and fried. I can't complain about the marmalade, and it did help a little by adding sweetness and a little citrusy bitterness. These were pretty good, but if having a cigar, would rather have a Cuban - 7/10. 6th course - Marinated Cucumbers: Unlike the Caesar Salad, this vegetable course was superb. The flavor of the marinade was light and not at all overpowering. The cilantro added some herbiness, while the date puree added savory sweetness, and the garlic-chili crunch a little bite. No notes, a 10/10. 7th course - Skirt Steak & Crispy Smashed Potatoes: When the plate arrived in front of me, it made me wish for Smell-o-Vision, or, whatever the equivalent is here. Smell-o-Yelpision? The potatoes were divine, with the chicken cracklings helping add crunch, savor, and a heavenly smell. While I don't know if I can call them "smashed," they were still spud perfection. Spudfection? The steak was good, but not amazing. It was generally cooked well, though I can't say it was medium-rare throughout. While it was a fine cut and well seasoned, it was a hair shy of fork tender and melt in your mouth. The Aji Verde, while intended for the potatoes, went well with both. A dish that makes me wish I wasn't already full, and would devour everything in a heartbeat - 8/10. Dessert course - Apple Pie Cheesecake: Alas, by the time we got to the end, I was already stuffed. However, through and through the dessert screamed homemade by a pastry chef who knows what they're doing. Apple-y cake, lightly crisp crust, homemade whip, caramelized apple pieces, and gelato! Time to save room for dessert on a return visit! For being the apple of my sweet-tooth's eye; a 10/10. Drinks: I know that I had a Savoy Strut and a Blind Tiger. I'm sorry to say my mind did not retain specifics, but can tell you the cocktails added great creativity. Both were well-balanced in terms of sweetness, booziness, and savoriness, though not mind-blowing. A beer-goggle-less review of 9/10. Vibe: The atmosphere is a blend of moody, modern, and upscale. It has tasteful splashes of color, music playing at just the right volume, and tables not spaced too closely together. The bar seating reminded me of the uber-comfy bus driver seats that do a little ploosh when you sit. (10/10) Service: Credit to the bar-server for being friendly and welcoming, as well as making sure I was happy and asking for feedback on what about the salad I didn't like. However, I'd like to note as it was his first Tuesday shift, he didn't know about the Tuesday Tasting Menu, and some things arrived out of sequence. To be clear, this is not a failing of the server, but management for not offering proper, timely training, and having him work alone. Bonus to the staff for quickly 86'ing someone who was WAY too happy in public. Service gets a 7/10 Final verdict: I crunched some numbers. If "7" is average, Untitled Supper Club averages 8.2 on an equally-weighted basis. The tasting menu gave me a good picture of their offerings - enough to say what appetizers to get when coming with friends so I don't stuff myself with too much bread prematurely, unable to enjoy a dessert.
