5 years later and this place is still amazing. I am a self proclaimed burger snob and the burger here just hits! Food is amazing. Service is amazing. End of story! read more

Our first stop in Lake Geneva is going to be hard to top! This is one of those places where you look at the menu and it's hard to choose because everything sounds amazing. My husband had a nice chicken sandwich and I had the Eddie Vedder fillet sandwich and it was awesome. Great fries too, the kind of fries where you know you should stop eating, but you just can't. Pay all that great food with good service and a fun bar atmosphere. It was a great start to our vacation. read more

Great food at Flat Iron Tap - I don't even think you can call it "bar food" honestly despite it being mostly sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. The burgers are legit, the chicken is cooked perfectly, and the appetizer menu is very unique. The other thing that stands out at this bar is the service. Mark put together a great staff, and you'll get great service no matter who waits on you (shout out to Peyton). It's a smaller spot, that reminds me of the small neighborhood bars around Chicago. You can't go wrong with any of the food on the menu, I love the smoked chicken wings (the homemade blue cheese dressing is the best I've ever had). They should consider selling this at a commercial level. I don't give a lot of "bars" 5 stars reviews, but Flat Iron Tap deserves it. read more

We dined at the Flat Iron Tap for a Saturday lunch. The host almost immediately gave us a wonderful two-seater by the street window. We enjoyed the ambience inside the restaurant and the care-free life outside. We ordered the Plain Jane Burger with pickles, onions, and lettuce. We also ordered the homemade chips and coleslaw. The waitress was very friendly and conscientious, even though she had multiple tables to serve. In a word (or two) - outstanding restaurant! Usually, there is a wait, and if you have one, it is well worth it. read more

Good food-slow service. Kitchen was not prepped for service on time. I would try again.

Id was asked for just to walk in after telling the dude we were just here to get food whom was clearly drunk out of his mind and slurring his words read more

Visited Flat Iron Tap on the Saturday of 4th of July weekend. As expected, the area was packed and the restaurant was busy. The place has a cozy, casual atmosphere; kinda reminds me of a biker bar. That said, seating is tight. There are only two tables that can accommodate a group of six, which was a bit disappointing given how busy Lake Geneva gets. Larger parties should plan accordingly. The appetizers were the highlight of our visit. We ordered the cheese curds, wonton mozzarella sticks, chips & guacamole, and bleu buffalo potato skins. All were good, but the bleu buffalo potato skins really stood out to me --easily the best I've had anywhere. Great flavor, swimming amount of buffalo sauce, and not spicy. (I'd love to feel some heat). For my main dish, I went with the Flat Iron Patty Melt burger with homemade chips after hearing great things from others in my group about how good the burgers were. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. The burger lacked seasoning and flavor, and the chips didn't do much either. Next time, I'd skip the burger and just stick to the appetizers. One bright spot of the visit was our server, Paige. She was fantastic--upbeat, personable, and attentive, even with how busy it was. She does her job well. Overall, Flat Iron Tap is a fun little spot with great apps, a unique bar vibe, and excellent service. Just be aware of the limited seating, and maybe don't go just for the burgers. read more

I cannot believe that after years of coming to Lake Geneva I missed that adored by the locals hidden gem! If you love the local Wisconsin dishes made from the quality ingredients and the welcoming vibe, you are at the right place! My Pinn Oak Ridge Farms Ground Lamb burger with Hill Valley Dairy garlic dill white cheddar, arugula, pickled red onions & garlic aioli with a toasted pretsel bun on the side was full of flavor and absolutely amazing. My daughter's The Flat Mac with American cheese, tomato, pickles, mixed greens, and special sauce on a toasted brioche bun was excellent! Her French fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. The bartender Mark made us delicious Yuzu Drop Martinis. His warm and professional service contributed to the overall great dinner experience . I cannot wait to come back! I highly recommend! read more

After an afternoon full of shopping the mockingbird sandwich was exactly what I needed!! Stopped here to put our name down on their list, 45 mins later we got seated! The wait wasn't too bad, we killed the time by checking out a few stores nearby! The place is small and tight! So I offered to walk our shopping bags back to our Airbnb. So glad I did!! As a table we shared the Brussels sprouts and cheese curds! The Brussels were amazing! The Korean BBQ sauce the use was great!! The cheese curds were good, but the best I've ever had!! Like I mentioned before the mockingbird sandwich was perfect. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juiced, hot and fresh! I'd skip on the season fries, unless you're a cumin lover. My friend got the BLT which was a bit disappointing for her, only 3 pieces of super thin (think Tyson) bacon, and the guacamole it comes with is def from a cup, tastes like cleaning products! She was very happy she asked for it on the side! The Hugo rose spritz was good, maybe not the best fall drink but would be a fantastic hot summer day option!! Our server Michelle was fantastic!! Truly made us feel so welcomed and taken care of!! Her charming and bubbly personality was very enchanting!! You can def tell locals love her! read more

Stopped on a Saturday around 3:30. It was a packed house, but the wait was only about 5 minutes to get a table outside. Started with the Brussels, very good! They had a little kick. I had the Italian beef and my sister had the chicken sandwich. Both were really good! A word of advice, get a side of the garlic aioli to dip your fries in, it's amazing!! Our waitress was great! I will definitely stop again next time I'm in the area. read more

Great spotted just off Main Street. The burgers were great. Fries were good. Waitress was friendly and prompt. We were there for a shift change but even that did not delay us too much. It is a cool pub vibe inside with good music, sports on TV for those interested, and a variety of beers on tap. Definitely would come back. read more

Sat at the bar last night with a friend for dinner. The Brussel sprouts and burger were DELICIOUS! Brogan was our bartender and he was excellent. Very attentive and friendly. Paige was not our waitress, but we watched her waiting table. The place was packed and she was working hard. She had a beautiful smile on her face the whole time. Flat Iron Tap is our new favorite place. read more

We decided to stop here around 4PM on a rainy Friday afternoon. We had never been to Lake Geneva before but the place we stayed had this place on their recommended list. We got lucky and beat the rush, and were able to get the two-seater at the window. We both ordered the cheeseburger with fries and it was extremely good. They had Spotted Cow on tap (of course) and that was the topper for this Illinois couple. We stayed longer than we planned, mostly because the service was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the food was good. It got really crowded around five, so get there early of you can. Solid place for good "bar food" and drinks! read more

I walk in to sit at the bar for lunch and there are not many empty seats so I see the bartender and ask if the seat at the end of the bar is available. She says sit down and moves a pair of gloves that belong to the woman next to me. So I sit down and get ready to order when, the woman next to me taps me on the shoulder and says she's saving the seat for someone who will be here soon so I'll have to get up... The bartender looks at her, then looks and me and shrugs her shoulders... Glad I didn't pay the meter before I sat down. I didn't know you could group up and reserve seats at the bar before your party is there. My bad. Now I know. I should have made reservations... for the bar stool... I thought I was becoming a regular. I'll have to seriously think again. That really felt pretty weak. Super disappointing. read more

This is probably my favorite restaurant in the Lake Geneva area hands down. Their food is always fresh and they have a great selection of burgers PLUS their salads and apps are just as good. They even work with local farms, no wonder everything tastes so great! Our favorite thing we ordered was the Van Helsing burger with sweet caramelized onions and garlic aioli. Also I love the motorcycle vibe of the restaurant and it's right in the heart of downtown. Our server was so friendly and helpful--even switching out my mom's beer when she wasn't the biggest fan. Also they will cook a plain chicken breast for pups. Yes, the patio is dog friendly! read more

We ordered takeout since I'm pregnant and have two hungry, tired toddlers, so I sent my husband to pick it up on a Tuesday evening. We ordered two burgers with fries and cheese curds. I called at 650 and the lady, Sarah, who took my order estimated 25 mins for pick up. But my husband didn't get the order until an hour later ! He came back past 8. I already fed my toddlers by then. I get it that it can get busy but what's most irritating is that the order has been ready! My husband said it was just sitting in the counter and the guy was unapologetic about it, he just said oh well the girl didn't know.... there should be some efficient way for staff to communicate with another! Also, my husband was asked to pay when he first got there and gave them a tip already! Little did he know he would have to wait for that long. I honestly don't know if I can rave about the food. Overall, it tastes good but not sure if I was just pregnant and hungry at that point. Most memorable item is the cheese curds. It's 10x better than Culver's if you're from out of state. read more

Went here on a Sunday afternoon. It's a tiny restaurant but it's so well decorated and the space is so thought out. Awesome atmosphere. The food was incredible. I ordered the Van Helsing for $14. Well worth the price. Arguably the best burger I've ever had. The pretzel bun was a nice touch. Staff was polite and attentive. Definitely a return trip. They were very accommodating to my dairy allergy which was wonderful. read more

Great neighborhood spot with elevated tavern food. We were warmly greeted by the bartender, who proactively offered samples of their rotating beers on tap when he saw us browsing the selection. I tried the deep-fried cheese curds--which came with a fantastic homemade ranch--and my brother had the burger. Both were exceptional; the burger was delicious and served with high-quality, hand-cut fries. Even on a Tuesday, the place was packed, so I imagine it's quite the hotspot during summer weekends. Highly recommend! read more

Flat Iron Tap is one of our favorite spots in town. We love the fact that they don't use seed oils and that they have healthy options on the menu. Absolutely amazing!!!!!! Those burgers were sooooo good! The service and atmosphere was amazing. Drove up with my partner and this was the first place we ate and it was amazing!!!!!!! Thank you and you just go! Guess I should share what I ordered! I order the burger with the blue cheese sauce, medium rare and whe I say it didn't disappoint. Fabulous. The fries were fresh and fried to perfection. I also ordered the mozzarella sticks that were lightly fried and the cheese was amazing. My partner ordered a plain burger and devoured it. The beets were also amazing! I had a cider and he had an IPA. We just really enjoyed! read more

Wow! Just excellent all around! I had the Jack Sparrow (salmon, potatoes) and my son had the Nashville (bbq pork sandwich with fries). This wasn't just average food done well...it was way beyond that! Also, the service was excellent. We got there just in time on a Wednesday night...5;30p. There was a line waiting by the time we left. And it's still technically off season for this area. read more

Flat Iron has the best food in Lake Geneva. This tiny, "would be dive bar" has fantastic food including, Okinawa Salad (sesame crusted ahi), Stawberry Fields Salad, other salads by season, fried brussel sprouts, all different burgers, fries or chips. Their menu is varied and we can't wait to try other things but we keep ordering the above because it is so good. The place is small - silly small. They have live music on Thursdays, which is often wonderful and varied, but then it's even smaller. The kitchen where the poor slaves must cook is punishingly small. I feel for them and can't believe what they can produce in that small space. Drink prices are typical for Lake Geneva but no deal. read more

The brief wait was worth it! Had two seats at the bar with a friendly bartender. Wonton cheese sticks were delicious. Beers were good. Wife's Shirley Temple too! Wisconsinner burger was delicious. Harvest salad was great also. The atmosphere was great. Good music attentive staff. Will come back to eat without hesitation! read more

So yummy! Great service and steak sandwich was fantastic. Little wait was worth it. Burger was fab.

As a local, and repeat customer, I can tell you this is on our list of top 5 places to go for a reliable meal. The apps and burgers are great. The Flat Iron Patty Melt and the John Daly are my favorites. Try the cauliflower appetizer! They offer a variety of beers and you can try a few with a flight. Service has always been excellent and the prices are fair. read more

Survived tornadoes here. In town for a work conference on a spring weeknight, this was the best of the choices open at what seemed like a reasonable hour of 7-8pm! We sat at a two top table. The back door was open a few feet behind me. It didn't take long before tornado sirens were going off. I said to my friend as I kept noticing the service staff heading downstairs, "There are stairs to a basement right behind you and I'm not going out in this to find our hotel." So in the spirit of spending time, and what I order any time I see it on a menu (because I also buy it at the grocery and make it at home), is the Bavarian pretzel from Milwaukee Pretzel Company. It was prepared properly, crispy and salty on the outside with a soft interior. Flat Iron Tap bills itself as having Lake Geneva's best gourmet burgers. This is a scratch kitchen so be prepared for big, beefy, juicy burgers. All the types and toppings available. Service was prompt and friendly. I do wonder if we would have been asked to exit if we had not exited. Other customers weren't really leaving either as closing time approached. Flat Iron Tap stands out in my memory in Lake Geneva as much for riding out the storms that had been touching down around Lake Geneva as we were there as for its food. I would return here in the future to have another pretzel and burger in its casual, low key environment. read more
