I stopped here one weekend at 8 am and not a single spot open and I had to wait for a spot so I left thinking that I have to stop back because the breakfast must be good. The place is your basic small town cafe with tables, booths and a lunch counter. I got there just after 7 am so I could get a spot this time and I did. I was not super hungry so I ordered two over medium eggs with two sausage patties which came in a timely manner but longer then expected for how empty it was at the time. My over medium eggs were cooked perfectly and the sausage patties were moist but the bland kind and nor zesty at all. My server never came back to see how I was doing and overall it was a pretty average

This is a nice little family restaurant. The servers were super kind and accommodating. The building is definitely old and showing signs of age, but they rolled with the punches and made the place look nice. The food was just ok, but the prices were very fair. The service was a little slow, but that's okay because I was in no hurry. I think a smaller menu would make things go a little faster, but variety is important at a family restaurant!

The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my girlfriend ordered the veggie omelette. The eggs Benedict was good and came with a lot of hollandaise sauce. The veggie omelette was good as well. The restaurant itself was cute with old decor, but it was a bit too small for liking. The patrons in the restaurant were good, seemed to be all local, returning customers that knew each other well. Overall it was a great place to get breakfast.

Service was pleasant enough but s-l-o-w. Restaurant was not busy but there was one large party of about a dozen which seemed to overwhelm the two servers. For the entire time we were there we didn't see any front of house staff (manager, host, bussers) other than two servers. Cleanliness was poor. We were there for over an hour and tables near us were not cleared or cleaned at all. Dirty dishes with leftover food sitting on them for the duration of our meal. Food all over the floor. Not an appetizing atmosphere. All-in-all poor value for the money.

I ordered the Chicken Piccata. That is one of my favorite dishes at most Italian restaurants. This looked like boiled chicken breasts, no color at all. The "lemon" sauce was like water and did not taste like lemon at all. More like vinegar. The "grilled"asparagus was sitting in the water and tasted boiled, not grilled. Mashed potatoes were decent, but sitting in a bowl of watery sauce did not help. Do not order this if you are expecting traditional Piccata. The angel hair pasta with "marinara" sauce my husband ordered was very bland, it was more like canned regular tomato sauce stirred into pasta...no joke. We wonder if there is a different owner, and cook. The nice young man who was our server was very good. We will not be back, and that is sad aswe liked it before.

I ordered a beer at the bar with the friendly bartender while I perused the menu at a table. I decided on their traditional bone in wings, 12 for $16.49, split between their applewood dry rub and their honey bbq dry rub. At over $1.37 per wing, I had high hopes these pricey wings would be worth the cost. And then this is where things went quickly downhill. The kitchen in this bar is small and they do orders one at a time, no batches. I had no idea that when I ordered there were multiple large carry out/door dash orders ahead of me, which meant I had to wait over an hour for my order of wings. Thankfully I had time to waste while watching the game, but no order of wings should take that long, especially without being told about the extraordinarily long wait when I ordered. I will say, once my order arrived, they redeemed theirselves. The wings were large, perfectly fried (tender, juicy and not one bit over cooked) and they were tossed evenly in the flavorful and unique dry rubs. Absolutely no complaints, just pure satisfaction. Okay, okay, they are still pricey, but if it wasn't for that long wait I wouldn't have been bothered by the final check. Station 20, please work on those wait times or find a way to handle in-store orders separately from your door dashers. Solve that issue and you would one of my top wing destinations.

Menu is EXTENSIVE, and there is something for everyone. I was torn between the carnitas (which I regret not getting) and the combo plate, where you can choose 2 items and get rice and beans. It was a chicken taco and chile relleno for me, and it was a little on the salty side. The drinks were on point. I enjoyed my Mexican mule and had a couple slurps of the mango/strawberry frozen margarita, which was refreshing and dual colored. Kids' menu had plentiful choices, including quesadillas, tacos, and hot dog and fries. Enjoyable experience here. Loved the throne-like chairs. So I was very excited when I was told we were going out for Mexican at a local family-owned spot that my brother, his wife, and other family members go to all the time. There were seven of us and we ordered a little bit of everything. My brother and sister-in-law always get the molcajete, so of course that was ordered. I went with the chilaquiles with eggs and honestly... best I've ever had. Ever. And I live in Chicago, so that says a lot. My great-niece had chicken fingers with the best French fries, so great kid options, and yes -- margaritas were involved The service was amazing, everyone knew my brother by name, and you could really feel that family-owned vibe. Such a great way to end my first Wisconsin holiday. And yep, today i finished off the leftovers before heading back to Chicago. Thank you so much -- can't wait to go back!

Not only were we rushed all night, but our server literally did not smile once. When we politely asked for a drink to be fixed that had wrong liquor, she seemed BEYOND irritated. Her attitude remained despite our best efforts to be responsive & friendly. Anyway...the "best for last" was the manager coming over to "see how our meals were" at the end & ending with a polite reminder to leave as they have a 2 hour limit. We were in fact getting by ready to go (just finishing dessert) but this was the last straw for us as far as enjoying the night. We jumped up immediately & he stammered a thank you. When we got outside we noticed a) there were only a very few if any still waiting, and b) it hadn't even been 2 hours (despite us ordering 2 drinks, apps, fish, and dessert)! We were very quiet and polite all night so maybe they thought we wouldn't mind.....but we all walked out & said "Well that's the last time I'd visit that place"! I've been a waitress so I'm very sensitive to most criticism of service, in general (people can have very unrealistic expectations and often have not had this very demanding role)....this, however, was beyond warranted. My guess is it's popular because of its size- so the wait is huge in summer because it's so small--so the wait makes it seem desirable? And it's on the lake. If it's the water you love, try The Village in Delavan!!! Great food, beautiful setting, stunning decor & fab service. The manager is also very responsive. Duck Inn is also a nice option in the area-old school and great service. Wish I had gone to one of these old faves for our one night out this fall.
