Absolutely recommended with 5 stars!…read more I heard about this restaurant from TikTok as it is rated the #1 restaurant in Lake County, and now I see why! We stopped in for some lunch. We were greeted by owner Marlene, who is absolutely wonderful. We placed our order and got some fresh lemon water. I ordered the lunch special Chicken and Gyro plate, and he ordered the Lamb Kabob Plate. While we waited for the food, we chatted with Marlene, and we were given some baklava (love that stuff). My goodness, the aroma coming from my plate was so good. The meats were cooked to perfection, and the vegetables were just right. He told Marlene that was not his first choice for food, but this meal changed his mind. The pitas and sauces were delicious as well. The presentation is nice, and portion sizes are large. I brought some home. I feel so bad because I forgot to tip, which is crazy for us. But, this just means we have to return soon and give a large tip. Don't skip trying this place. You won't be disappointed! Closed on Sunday, so plan accordingly.

So be careful to order from anywhere else -because this is the ONLY original Mediterranean place in Madison to order from! I highly recommend it for the atmosphere, the staff, the food, and the devotion that I've repeatedly seen and tasted! Definitely a great experience all around either dining in or getting delivery! Highly recommended from a longtime customer. My favorite is the lamb Shawarma plate and the yummy tea. the pistachio baklava! Yummy !!

The stuffed grape leaves were wonderful- they didn't have meat in them, but the rice filling had the typical Greek seasonings and a nice hint of mint. For my main, I ordered the Chicken Shawarma. It came with either soup or salad and I picked the lentil soup even though it was 95 degrees outside. I thought it was quite good and might try to make at home sometime! The shawarma plate was huge! I think two people could have shared this and sadly, I couldn't finish it all. The pita bread was nice and fluffy and the chicken had a nice taste, although I expected it to maybe have paprika and hummus with it but it did not. The rice was fine - it didn't have too much flavor but was cooked well. Overall, I enjoyed eating here! The restaurant was kind of hot inside. They had fans going but I'm not sure if the air was working or if maybe they don't have air, but it was a little stuffy. Some outdoor seating as well for when it's not so hot outside and the air quality is better (this area was experiencing some smoke from the Canadian wildfires).

It has an extensive menu selection of Mediterranean food and friendly staff. I would have to say that the dips are the star of the show. Getting a combination of a couple or doing one of their platters that gets you a variety is key. The pita bread comes out hot and you can easily share with friends and debate on the best one. The grilled platter we got was also good. The meat wasn't as juicy as I would have liked it, but it hit the Mediterranean flavors well. The rice was more sweet and dry than I typically like my rice, but went well with the meal. The day after it was not good at all though, so that got some point deductions for me. Overall, if you're craving Mediterranean at a chill spot, it's not bad, but it's not the best. I would say 3.5 overall, but 4 for the dips.

There is not a bad choice on the menu here. I always get the Lula plate. When it's described on the menu that it is cooked to perfection, I can honestly say that's not exaggeration. The mushroom, rice, pilaf and cabbage salad is always such a great combo with any of your proteins. We always give baba ganoush with the dish because we end up ordering a large hummus on the side just for leftovers at home because they're homemade. Hummus is so good and better than any other store we've ever purchased from. The combo plate is such a great choice if you're splitting amongst two people and want to get some baklava and hummus on the side or a different type of appetizer. Or if you just want variety the, plate is amazing. I could not recommend this place enough! If you haven't tried Siunik please stop in! Or order it to go.
