I've been here 5 times in the last 4 days and every visit was tastier than the last. The food is always amazing and the service is on point. I would highly recommend!

Saturday breakfast did not disappoint! We got to the restaurant around 9am and we're seated at the very last available table. First of all - the service is outstanding, everyone is so nice, very kind, very attentive! Huge selection of food, took a while but we decided to try/split banana pancake and chorizo omelette. Outstanding! Omelette was cooked French style, cooked thinly and rolled with vegetables and meats inside! It didn't taste heavy at all! Excellent! Banana pancake was very fluffy, light, I ate it without a syrup and loved it!

Today's visit is a perfect demonstration of why this is one of my favorite breakfast spots. 1- unique ambiance. Old school diner with an igloo. I know, right? 2- very creative daily specials. See the photo of the whiteboard. 3- truly attentive staff that cares about customer service. 4- whipped butter. So no matter how cold it is, it always spreads easily on toast or a pancake 5- really good food I ordered the chipotle chicken breakfast special. See the pics. It was loaded with onions. I was unaware when I ordered it. I loathe onions. I gamely tried to pick the onions out. The server noticed and asked me if everything was ok. She replaced my breakfast and was actually concerned that I was well fed and happy. And didn't charge for for the original order. It's so awesome to be able to try new things without fear of going hungry.

Half of 'Nine Lives' meal. It's huge!!!!

I wanted to love this place, but it was just a little better than OK. The awesome service, taste of the pancake, and aesthetic of the place are the only reasons I gave them 3 stars. Maybe if we'd ordered something else, we would have enjoyed it more. My husband and I shared the "Nine Lives" breakfast, which is HUGE. Definitely a good one to split with a friend, and maybe order another side to share. It's like a breakfast burrito made with a huge pancake. Filled with eggs, bacon and melted cheese. It was tasty, and hit the spot. The coffee was horrible, but I'm a little spoiled because I'm new to coffee and grind my beans fresh every time. This coffee had to be Folgers or similar. The American fries were pretty good, so no issues there. We thought it was a little funny that the menu mentions they use "Mrs. Butterworth's" syrup, as if it's a good thing. I must be becoming a snob or something, but it's hard to like anything after having fresh syrup in Vermont recently. I may visit again to try something new. The service was great, and I'd hate to not give them a 2nd chance.

    Friday fish fry. Haddock.

Cute little igloo diner. Eccentric little place with a fun menu. Decor harkens to Midwestern Americana, transporting you to another era. The average age of the diners is about 65 and are mostly regulars. Servers fit the charming place and nobody seems to be able to rest. Homemade pies, donuts, and a Friday fish fry. The fish variety included haddock, grilled or fried, perch, and cod. I ordered the fried haddock with homemade potato pancakes and the last coconut donut they had. My meal also included homemade coleslaw, homemade tartar sauce, and a slice of rye bread. The meal was decent, the fish batter was a little thin and limp. I would prefer a crispier batter, but it still had good peppery flavor. The tartar sauce added a nice zest. Coleslaw had no mayo which was nice. Potato pancake is like a real pancake, thin with a large diameter. Apple sauce included. I see why this place attracts lots of regulars, I want to come back someday to try their breakfast.

This is one great place to have breakfast! It's a regular stop for the townies, which is usually a pretty good sign, hence the 6 AM opening (excerpt for M, We, and Th during the Covid crisis when they open at 8). We were fortunate enough to sit near Daddy's widow (he passed in January) and she was a fountain of fascinating history about this place. Turns out that she and her breakfast partner remember the place from as far back as 1938 when it was the AnArctic Dinner and just offered soft serve ice cream. Now they have one of the most expansive menus that either of us have ever seen!

Solid, no frills diner - with lots of character. Retro decor, retro booths, retro food - albeit a pretty extensive menu. Best breakfast ever? No. Solid? Absolutely. Attentive service. Cash or checks only - no debit or credit cards. Not a lot of tables, so you may have to wait on a busy weekend. If you have time, enjoy the nature center across the road or the lake nearby.

A local jewel in Williams Bay. Small and charming. Wonderful service. The breakfasts were all freshly made. No pre-cooked anything. Ham was fresh cut and delicious. They're known for their cake donuts. Get at least a couple while you're wait on your orders. You can walk it off later. Put Daddy's on your morning must-do list in WB.

Great classic old school diner. Good service, average coffee, great food. Typical good Midwestern diner. Had a breakfast quasadilla and it was excellent. Will be back here again. STRAIGHT CASH HOMIE! No credit cards accepted.

    Table Huevos Rancheros

This diner is an iconic place. Great history, great food, and great people. I tried the Huevos Rancheros (during lunch) lately and was impressed. Best French-batter pancakes around. Cinnamon French toast is unreal as well.

Food was horrible. Service was good. Daddy Maxwells used to be good. Must have different owners. The decor as always is ugly.

Gotta say, this was the best breakfast i may have had prepared for me. We each had a skillet. I went for the black bean one. With the house potatoes. I cleaned my plate! Excellent cup of coffee. Fantastic mimosa. We got to try a Swedish pancake and i gotta say, next visit is going to be a tough decision. Super friendly and personable staff. Looking forward to many more meals. There was this green cream sauce i saw given to our neighbors table. It's the made with love heartbeat here. Thank you for what you do for our appetites! Cheers to your next four years

The cucumber jalapeño is one of the best margaritas I've had. Perfect amount of spice, sweetness, and refreshment! I also tried the hibiscus margarita which is on the sweeter side. For my entree I got the black and blue salad, which was a nice big portion with delicious steak and jumbo shrimp. My boyfriend's fish fry was also delicious with fresh lightly battered fish. Though service was on the slower side this evening because of the crowds, they are always super nice here! It's a nice local option with no frills but excellent food and drinks overall.

The restaurant leans into Lake…read moreGeneva history in a way that's really well done--photos, cruise captains, and memorabilia throughout. I especially enjoyed the Lake Geneva Playboy Club items. That said, the overall experience didn't match the price point. We went today around 2:00 PM as a party of two, and service was slow despite only about five other occupied tables. The biggest issue: we were initially brought the wrong bill (another table's), and after about 15 minutes, we ended up having to find someone to correct it. Food was average for the cost. The fish tacos were fine but nothing special. The meatloaf was a single slice with less than a cup of potatoes--felt sparse on the plate and could have used another side or component to make it feel like a complete entrée. With one glass of wine, we were around $60, which would be easier to justify if the service and food execution were sharper. One note: while it's "on the lake," the views are fairly limited at lake level--you mostly see piers and the cruise boats--so for us the main draw was the ambiance inside. Unfortunately, the ambiance couldn't make up for average, overpriced food and a service miss. If you go, go for the atmosphere--just set expectations accordingly on value and service.
