Wanted a simple breakfast and left beyond unpleased. Food was terrible, cold. My beans and rice tasted straight out of a can/bag. The beans literally had a hard crust to them. Server didn't bring me part of what I ordered, when I asked where it was she said I didn't order it. I cannot say enough nice things about this restaurant. My husband & I stumbled across it almost 2 years ago now and we keep coming back for more. The food is so yummy and always consistent! The silver dollar pancakes always HIT THE SPOT and the sides of meat compliment it perfectly. The service is 13/10 - the most friendly staff of people I've ever met. It gives 'local diner vibes' & it makes me feel like I'm at home, and I love it. Smiling happy faces every time we enter the door. Old-school little place in the best way possible. Super friendly service. They offered me coffee as soon as I sat down. Solid diner coffee. Good food too, in generous portions. I got the gyro skillet because I could get pancakes with it. The skillet came with 3 eggs and the potatoes and other ingredients underneath soaked up the yolks nicely. The pancakes were nice and fresh and fluffy. And of course real butter on the table, which is still one of my favorite Wisconsin things. I wish I could give zero stars... I was really excited to find a restaurant that serves blintzes, which I love, and they are not something you usually see on a menu outside of Jewish delis. Unfortunately, what they are trying to pass off as blintzes...I can't even fathom what happened, because all you have to do is Google to see what they are or find a recipe. Instead, I was served savory crepes filled with cottage cheese and some kind of savory seasoning. Not only were they not blintzes and not sweet, but they were nasty. I had ordered delivery, so I couldn't just send it back and ask for something else instead. Doubt I'll ever give them a second chance to try anything else on the menu. Enter the place no greeting. Stated need a table for 2, reply "anywhere." So cold in the place couldn't even take off our coats. Finally get our order taken. Food comes, umm not what we ordered. Waiting about ten minutes for the correct food. Scrambled eggs cold, pancakes and french toast rubbery like they had be reheated in the mircowave, bacon had a weird taste (sizzlean type taste). Never came back asked how things were or if we needed anything. Husband asks for the check after she finally offers more coffee and we were done eating. Sitting there waiting for the check, nope. Go to the register to pay and tell them we didn't get our check " O I have", and we knew this how. So it's pick and choose if you get the check handed to you (seen others get their's) or you guess it's sitting at the register. Use our card to pay , she was so quick to push the buttons and get us checked out she rushed right passed the tip screen. Won't be back, wouldn't recommend. Rating is based on comparison to similar restaurants. We arrived around 11:30 am on a Saturday. Quickly found a cozy booth seat and about as fast our orders for tea were taken. Before we could read the comprehensive breakfast menu, the tea was on the table. We ordered the eggs and pancake combo and the corn beef skillet. Now lets be clear. This is diner food. The corn beef was "homemade" from the can with extra hand cut potatoes. I would have like the hash browns to be hot, not warm. But the eggs were perfect. I so appreciate a medium done egg with the whites cooked completely and the yellow yolk firm yet still liquid. Life's small pleasures. Back to the service. The staff check on us looking to refill, clear plates, bring containers as needed, without being intrusive, so we were able to have a nice conversation over brunch. I don't eat beef but I'll eat corned beef hash when I see it's homemade like they advertised. I didn't even ask like I usually do "is your corned beef hash made from the can?" because it said homemade. Apparently this means it's made from the can but they add potatoes and spices. This is a family run restaurant and it feels like it from the moment you enter and until you leave. You are welcomed immediately and checked on during your stay. The food is delicious and you get more than I've ever been able to finish. You can almost plan on leaving with a carryout container. Looking for a new place to visit on a rare weekend morning alone with time to spare, I ventured to Cudahy's Pancake House based on photos I saw of some pretty tasty looking food and an amazing sounding description of an item called A Little Bit of France. What I found was a mixed bag of feelings to go along with my stuffed belly. Upon entering I was quickly seated and visited by my waiter. All throughout the meal he was pleasant and helpful with suggestions, specifically if I should get the pancakes or potato pancakes as the side item for the gyro meat and eggs meal I wanted. I even got a good laugh when I told him I was going to be a pig and order two different meals because I couldn't decide on which one I wanted and didn't know if I'd be able to make it back any time soon. To drink I ordered a chocolate milk, which ended up being barely below room temp when it arrived. I didn't bother complaining about it and probably should have in retrospect since it was off-putting drinking warm milk. My bad for not doing so, but theirs as well for serving warm milk. I hadn't been waiting long when my two meals came out of the kitchen, which was a nice surprise given that the place was half full of customers. In total I ordered A Little Bit of France (cinnamon spiral bread french toast with sauteéd cinnamon apples, minus the plumb raisins it normally has) and gyro meat and eggs (plus cheese) with pancakes. The cinnamon bread portion A Little Bit of France was good and I enjoyed the flavor of the sauteéd apples, but the meal as a whole didn't wow me like I hoped it would. The apples were more mushy than firm, so that may have had something to do with it. I also believe adding some powdered sugar on top would have helped give it some sweetness. As for the gyro meat and eggs meal, everything was very standard. The scrambled eggs were no different than the eggs at any other diner, the gyro meat was less greasy than usual which also made it fairly dry, the hashbrowns were crispy on the top and sadly not on the bottom, and the pancakes were also a little dry even with syrup. The total for the two meals and milk was just over $20, which I didn't feel was terrible considering I ordered what two people would normally order. Given the plethora of breakfast places that have popped up around Milwaukee the past few years that I haven't yet had a chance to try, particularly near downtown and the Third Ward, I don't foresee a return trip to Cudahy's Pancake House. I don't fault anyone for wanting to try Cudahy's Pancake House or for defending it if they like the place, but to me it was simply average read more

My daughter brought here for my first time. We have had themseveral times through take out. The menu is huge and I was having a hard time figuring out what to get. Very reminiscent of some old diners I used to go to with my parents when I was a kid growing up in Southern California. The aesthetic, the older, vintage-looking furniture, the uneven tables and floor...it made me miss home! There was a familial feeling I got upon immediately stepping foot in this restaurant: the staff was kind and friendly and although the menu was incredibly overwhelming (there are so many food options!), the waitress was patient with my ordering process and trying to figure out what my indecisive brain couldn't put into words. I ended up panick ordering something I could have easily made at home myself: asparagus and mushroom omelette with swiss and peanut butter pancakes. That omelette was packed with what seemed like a half pound of asparagus. Every bite was evenly matched with the next, the hashbrowns were crispy and perfectly goldened, and the pancakes? Well, there's peanut butter slapped on them, so whats not to love? In my my mind though, I envisioned the peanut butter mixed into the batter and cooked on the griddle with then more peanut butter added on top. But in reality, it was just their original pancakes with chunky peanut butter spread on each cake. Not that it wasn't good, but I was thinking to myself, "yup, I most definitely could have made all of this at home". All in all, I. thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast-for-dinner meal (breakfast served all day long!) and have so many more things on their menu to try. Loved our late Sunday morning breakfast here. I had the Spartan omelet, which was a huge fluffy omelet with gyro meat and feta cheese, served with tzatziki sauce. It came with great pancakes and really fantastic hash browns. Amy had the chicken fried steak - also with the great hash browns. Her steak was tender, crispy, piping hot and smothered in really good country gravy. You couldn't ask for a better chicken fried steak! Service was outstanding as well. Great little find on our way to the airport. Came in around 9:30am on a Sunday and was able to be seated right away. Coffee and water we delivered to the table within 1 minute. The menu is pretty extensive! So many options! I got the Ricky's no. 1 and my mom got the Florentine Benny. Both were delicious! They are supposed to be open at 7am for breakfast but they were closed until about 7:08 when the staff started to show up, see my picture. There face book page says they open at 6 am for breakfast so I didn't understand why they were closed. After I got in at 7:08 and sat down it took my server 10 minutes to get over to me to take my order because everyone was busy setting up the tables with butter and Coffey creme. About 7:25 I finally had my breakfast in front of me, the service her was really poor. I will post the pictures with time stamps to back up this review. At about 7:20 an employee called some woman out and tapped on his watch to say your late and she said your not my boss. The place is small with mostly all booths with a small counter up front. The place has lots of light wood all over and looked like your typical breakfast place. There is art on the walls and a big screen that eventually got turned on. I ordered this gyro and eggs because they said the chicken fried steak was the frozen kind. It comes with two eggs, hash browns and sour dough toast. The tzatziki sauce was kind of chunky and creamy tasting which was good. The gyro meat was very tame and average at best and sliced very thin so it was on the dry side. The eggs were perfect sunny side up. The hash browns we're golden and slightly thicker shreds than usual. The sour dough toast is always a winner and my personal favorite but this was commercial but better than white bread. Overall I found my breakfast to be just average and the way the business is run is very unprofessional come paired to most other restaurants. I would not ever go back to this place after this mornings experience. I'm an early breakfast eater and when you say your open at 6 am and at 7:08 with employees waiting in front to get in to a closed restaurant means that this place is not run right. read more

This is a decent pancake house, similar to George Webb's but nicer. It is family owned and run which is awesome! I got some Oreo pancakes which were alright but pretty much tasted like normal pancakes... Good pancakes, but normal. The fries were really good. My fiance got a salmon eggs Benedict which he said was pretty good, but almost tasted "too fishy" and it was dry. For the price it's fine. Service was good and quick and I liked the layout of it. I would eat here again if I was in the area and wanted some typical breakfast food. If you want something quick and basic this would be a good place to go! read more

This is "the spot" you go to for Sunday breakfast. The first time I went to Cudahy's pancake house was on a whim. I had a craving for waffles ironically and I searched for the closest spot near me. Low and behold I found this gem! When I first walked in it brought me back to my hometown's breakfast spot where the same waitress has been there for a decade, the regulars are at their tables having the samle old converesations, and where you order "the usaual". The service was great, the food came out fast, and it was really cheap! The breakfast was fantastic and their waffles tasted like home. This is the sort of neighborhood diner that mainly depends on regulars who retired 10 years ago, so it's empty at 10 am which is perfect for me. My coffee was over an hour old (yes I can tell) but that's what I get for coming in way past 7 a.m. when their regular clientele is probably already waiting for them to open up. I am guessing they get busy again around blue plate special time, those of you who are relatively young, I mean about 5 p.m. not that they specifically have a blue plate special. They do always have daily specials. Service is friendly, a little less than prompt, and they did not call me Hon. In all fairness, my server was a Mexican-American male, he probably doesn't know he's supposed to be named Hazel and call me "Hon." Excellent high LDL no-fiber traditional American breakfast options. They have a couple of healthier sounding options, but that's what I have to eat at home, I came here for fiber-free high gluten buttery fluffy pancakes with satisfying-fat sausages and high octane coffee (freshly made not an hour old). And that's what I got (except for the fresh coffee). Diner decor but a little short on window seats, seems clean, they can speak Spanish, it's a little tight if you're in a wheelchair but you can get in and out if you use a walker (I saw this happen, they helped). Right across the street from a used CD and DVD store, a nice laundromat and next to a very good bakery that is closed on Mondays. The food was amazing, I got the chicken fried steak and upgraded my pancakes to the Oreo pancakes (they did it at no additional charge). The reading of the chicken fried steak was light and flakey, the gravy was delicious without being overly seasoned (as it is many places) and the hash browns were pretty good. I got a side of bacon that asked for extra crispy and it was perfectly cooked without being burnt. The waiter was prompt, courteous and attentive. I took off two stars because I ordered iced tea and was told after a glass that there weren't free refills. Really? Iced tea might cost like 15 cents to make two quarts. At 2.19 a glass without refills this seems just ludicrous. I could understand it for soda but it seems a rather silly policy for a restaurant to have. It may be a little petty but it was the only disappointment I had, but enough of one where I questioned why such a policy would exist in the first place. read more

Exactly what a diner should be. We visited for brunch with a group of 5 and everyone was able to find something they were excited to eat on the extensive menu. The hostess was very sweet and welcoming and our waitress was the perfect combination of sweet and give-ya-the-business. I come in a couple times a week - this place has the most variety and everything is great. their Fish Fry is awesome They HAVE A TEXT CLUB TEXT CUDAHY TO 51660 GREAT Deals! Usually I'm often alone because I am working in the area. I had this really good burger with mushrooms, onions, peppers, jalapenos, fresh tomato - so good didn't even have to put cheese on it.
