The food was delicious, and the menu was filled with eclectic choices not on this city's typical Mexican restaurant menu. My Shrimp Diablo was excellent with just the correct amount of heat. The steak tacos were scrumptious, the meat succulent and not greasy. My spouse and I shared a crisp empanada with a crust that did not overwhelm the filling. She found the shrimp tacos to be her favorite. Everything was fresh, and the kitchen had culinary skills above the norm. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. Don't be fooled by the exterior, which makes people think Mexic103 is just a bar. Mexic103 is a comfortable spot to dine in. It is worth the drive to Cudahy as 794 makes the trip quick and easy. Cudahy has some great Mexican restaurants, each slightly different enough from the others to warrant visiting them all. Living nearby, I've visited Mexic many times, and a recent visit was great. I prefer not to sit in the front room, as it can be drafty with the door there - booths in the mid room or tables in the back, seating is plenty. I had the Steak a la Mexicana and it was like fancy Fajitas (although they also have fajitas on the menu!). The steak was cooked to order! The Mexican rice is served in a cute pyramid, service was good, I've not had a bad dish here. What a great find with vegan options while staying nearby in south milwaukee! Went around 3:3pm on a Tuesday in Feb and it was empty. They have $7 food specials and $3.50 rocks margaritas from 11-4 Tues-Sat. The margaritas were SO good! There were only 4 vegan options listed on the menu. I'm also gluten-free (items are labeled) and opted for the vegan tostadas. They were fairly simple, but tasty! I added some of the green salsa they gave us with the chips. My wife and I loved eating here! You walk in and immediately realize you've entered an authentic experience. A fun atmosphere that doesn't take itself too seriously. Lots of tables for seating and they keep it at a refreshing temp in the summer when we came. The prices were very fair. They have a normal menu with lots of choices and then a 2-page specials menu on top of it! So a little overwhelming to pick but they're bound to have something for everyone. I love Mexican food and I'm always looking for good vegetarian options. This place takes it to another level. I'm tickled to know this restaurant is just down the street. They make some amazing food. I ordered the avocado tacos on corn tortilla. So many yummy flavors and super fresh. They even offer another vegetarian taco that uses a meat substitute. The homemade salsas are on point. I had both the green and the orange one. Both are bursting with flavor and the orange one had more kick. I also tried a bite of my friend's enchilada verdes. Total divine! I should really ding them for putting rice in a pyramid shape when it should have been a ziggurat. Seriously your rice comes in a pyramid shape that looks like a little ant could climb it. My fork sure made a mess of it and I am not sorry for destroying the pyramid. The obligatory chips and salsa are decent with the salsa having a little kick and good depth of flavor. It wasn't spectacular but many places do screw up with stale chips and flavorless salsa. I ordered the enchiladas with shredded chicken. It comes with that darn cute rice pyramid with refried beans. The beans were creamy but needed a little salt - same with the enchiladas. I would have liked a little more enchilada sauce but they were still pretty darn good. My hubby had the street tacos with pastor and was pleased with his dish. Next time I will give the tacos or the carne asada a try. read more

On a whim we searched for mexican food south of Milwaukee and landed on Mexic - the 4+ stars from other helpers pushed us over the "should we?" And we promptly headed down to enjoy their amazing outside space and fmsome food and beverage on a super hot summer day. First, their patio/garden is beautiful. Sit outside. Second, the margaritas did not disappoint. I love tropical flavors, so went for the passion fruit, my other half peach. Both were good. Lastly, the burritos are delicious. Not what I'm used to (which are CA mission burritos where beans, rice and all the fixing are stuffed into a foil wrapped tortilla you peel back), but tasty. They surve more like an enchilada with the beans and rice and fixings on the plate, the cheese and barbacoa inside. I essentially got to build every bite to my own specifications - more sour cream this bite? Sure! Less rice, more beans, sure! Just beef, why not! What a great restaurant! It's set up in what appears to be a very old building with a really neat store front. You first walk up a few steps into the restaurant and walk into a beautiful long wood bar off to the left and tables to the right. It's a very long and narrow restaurant so as you continue walking there are two or more seating areas until you reach the back of the restaurant. There is an amazing outdoor space that's absolutely beautiful with round tables and chairs set up on a deck and a lot of grass space. I feel like they should set up games and outdoor activities because it such a large beautiful outdoor space. A lot really could be done with it. The food was absolutely fantastic! It was an interesting mix of Hispanic and Peruvian food. We started off with cocktails. My friend got a traditional house margarita and I got a piña colada both were delicious. They brought us chips and salsa to the table to start with. We then decided to try the empanadas for an appetizer we each got one chicken empanada. Holy moly hands-down this might be one of the best empanadas I've ever had in the city! It was seasoned so perfectly and came out piping hot. As I bit into it the juices came running out. Absolutely fantastic it's served with a really delicious sauce couldn't quite put my finger on what it is exactly but it was phenomenal. For dinner I decided to get the chicken fajitas which were out of this world once again is seasoned so amazingly and served with your choice of tortilla, sour cream, guacamole, shredded lettuce and tomatoes, and a side of the most delicious Spanish rice. My friend decided to get the green (Verde) enchiladas which were Deliciously spicy. She loves spice so it was perfect for her just be aware if you order the Verde enchiladas they pack a punch! I can't wait to go back! They have a really great menu with items like ceviche that I'm dying to try.
