Stopped in recently with my mom for lunch. I went with a horchata and their Mexican pizza. My mom got a margarita and the enchiladas. We both enjoyed their tortilla chips and salsa. They are so good! Respectable Mexican dinners in a small family restaurant. Ingredients were fresh, tacos delicious, enchilada sauce excellent. My expectations were low for Mexican cuisine in Wisconsin but this little diner got the job done and was pretty solid (and we are both California guys who eat lots of Mexican food). My friends and coworkers have been telling me about this little hole in the wall Mexican Restaurant with raving reviews. We usually dont get out that far south but today we had a Dr appointment at Drexel Square and decided to check it out. Very charming and cozy, there is probably only around 5 booths and 4 tables. You seat yourself and our server was right on top of it with chips and waters. I was warned about the huge portions so me and my hubby chose the 3 meat (steak, chicken, and shrimp) fajitas and shared. Food came out quickly and was sizzling hot. We ordered an extra set of tortillas, corn for hubby and flour for me. It was amazing, but the chips and salsas are the star of the show here. Served hot and fresh. Salsas were good, they had a red that had a little bite to it, and the green which is a little milder and my favorite. Like I said, portions re huge. Wait was about 25 minutes on a Friday night (6:30). You can wait inside, or if it's too busy, wait at a table outside and they'll call you when there's a table. Food was great! 10/10. Chips are brought out hot right when you sit down, with red and green salsa. The salsas are good, decently spicy, and if you order the guacamole it's great, but expensive. Chips had some sort of seasoning on them, tastes salty and tangy. Drinks came out fast. Food was about a 25 minute wait for 4 people great variety of food, service was amazing even though it was so busy. Probably our "go to" for Mexican. Margaritas have a proper amount of tequila in them and the chips & salsa are top notch. Huevos rancheros are my favorite and they are very good...ask for your eggs over easy. Decor is not good and the service is too, but that's pretty much par for the course at most cheap Mexican joints. Food is good, but they stole my card. I woke up this morning to two fraud notices from my bank, highlighting bogus charges for Amazon video-on-demand transactions. The only place my card could have been stolen was here. See, I just returned from a trip to Japan. In Japan, every single bar/restaurant gives you a check, and they run your card in front of you as you leave. I have made two other transactions since returning home. Both were online. Little Cancun is the ONLY place since my return that I've actually handed my card off to another person. It's unfortunate. I've been going here for years and really like their food, but it looks like going forward I'm going to be pretty leery of returning. Posting so others know to beware. Food really wasn't all that great. The prices I felt were insane for the quality of food you are given. Our waitress was very nice in the beginning but as the night went on she got lazy. We arrived at 7pm for dinner and before we even got our food staff members were sweeping the floor for their closing duties. After we finished our meals we waited for our waitress to come back to order another round of drinks, but she never did as she was rolling silverware. It was 8:15pm and the restaurant closes at 9pm. The table behind us left leaving just our table. The other employees began mopping, pulling out barstools and stacking chairs before we even received our bill. We asked our waitress when they closed, maybe we were reading the website wrong and she responded "9pm, we just like to get a head start." If a business does not want to stay open late they should change their hours. I was highly disappointed in Little Cancun and do not plan to go back. read more

Terrible. If I could leave zero stars I would. We just left the restaurant. Took a while for the staff to welcome us but they finally brought us some chips. We waited for the server to bring us a water and I finally had to get up and asked the female and male who were behind the bar for assistance. They said right away. After I sat back down I looked back and male employee was on his cell phone texting. Finally frustrated we walked out. We have La La's, El Besos, and Azteca in our community. We were shopping at IKEA and thought we might eat at their cafe when we came upon the insane cafe line (for what appeared to be cafeteria style eats). We decided to consult Yelp for an eatery nearby. I'm so glad we did. Located in a nondescript building in a nondescript area of Franklin, Wisconsin, Little Cancun's exterior does nothing to hint at the goodness within. Unless you notice the full to bursting parking lot. As we entered, we were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table. One delicious whiff and the view of pitchers of margaritas on nearly every table told us the wait would be worth it. And, worth it, it was. We ordered a pitcher of Don Julio margaritas (reasonably priced, considering the small pitcher gave us 3.5-4 margaritas). We also started with their guacamole, which was ample, fresh, and came served with piping hot and freshly made tortilla chips (the true star of the show--they were delicious). For my entree, I got the big chicken quesadilla. Packed with seasoned chicken and cheese, it comes with an ample side of sour cream and guacamole. It's everything a quesadilla should be. My dining companions opted for the chicken enchiladas and were quite pleased as well. Though packed, the service was still incredibly swift and completely friendly. Finding little local gems like this is the best! Oh! And, looks like they have a second location opening up in Bay View later this year! Huzzah! Get to it! read more

Great little spot that from the outside driving by, you may not even consider because of its appearance. Once inside, the service is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is good. It had been a while since we were at Little Cancun. My wife had seen a review saying that there was new ownership and that the food was better than it had been... which was kind of surprising, because we'd always thought that the food was great! New ownership or not, we didn't notice a difference in the food - it was still terrific. Amy had the tostadas with chunky beef - the chunky beef being her favorite Mexican topping of all time. She really loved it. I had a combo with chicken chimichanga, chunky beef enchilada, and a chile relleno. Very good and it was so much food that I took the chimichanga home for lunch the next day and still had plenty for dinner. We also always share a half-pitcher of margaritas when we're at Little Cancun. Those were as good as ever as well! Great place for simple Mexican food. Highly recommended! read more

Nice menu and good food. Enjoyed two different menu selections on a very busy Saturday evening. That being said, it is a very small place with more booths than tables. We are visiting the area for some work and fun and found Little Cancun via Yelp (thanks guys!). Overall, we liked the food pretty darn well. There were some rockstars on the menu such as the chimichangas (both chicken and pork), killer refried beans and a pretty tasty chile relleno. Not everything was "rockstar" but no major letdowns either. Would've loved if they carried Jarritos or other sodas along with the classic big soda swill, but a root beer and lemonade did us just fine. The food by itself was a solid 4 stars. However, the badass service puts it at 5! Never went empty on drinks and she checked on us just enough to feel taken care of, but not hovered over. Really solid choice for our lunch date! read more
