It's been a minute since we were here last. Lala was still her lovely, sweet, sassy, self--running the floor even with a bum knee and the food, as always, completely on point.

The food is good, family Mexican-American. What makes this place great is the woman who served me, maybe she's the owner. She is so sincerely sweet, just what I needed. Feel like I had lunch with the family I wish I had. Don't call it "guac."

Last month I met with a friend here for lunch. It was in her neck of the woods and wanted to try a new place to eat at. It's a not big place and with Covid restrictions still in place, there were a few booths & tables to eat at which I didn't mind. We were greeted with a friendly hostess and put our drink order in right away while I looked over the menu. We were also provided with a bag of chips and salsa as well. I'm sure these are usually presented in a basket but again with everything going on at this time I had no problem with it and totally understood. I decided to go with the steak taco plate with no onions, light cilantro, cheese on flour tortillas with a side cream and of course with rice and beans. I liked the fact that you were able to get steak and the price was still the same as getting al pastor, chicken, etc. The tacos were decent with a little bit of the hot salsa my friend requested for, but the steak was a little over seasoned to me. The beans were warm and could've been a little warmer because it wasn't long before they ended up being cold. I will say the margaritas were delicious and our waiter was super friendly just like the hostess. I thought it was a little nice surprise when me and my friend received a shot of tequila and orange slice at the end of our meal after we asked for the check. I would give it another try and maybe go with chicken tacos or maybe a chimichanga but hopefully the beans will be a little warmer the next time around.

My buddy was talking about getting lunch in his neighborhood and I talked him into trying a new place so we meet here, I like this place and I hoped he would like it even if it was not Botanas II his place, I like them both. We were seated promptly, seat your self and chips/salsa were on the table quickly. Two salsas were on the table, one watery and one chunky with thin crisp chips. The chunky salsa was our favorite, mild we were told but it had a little kick to it that I liked. Once again the measly 4 combo dishes didn't appeal to me the second time around so I did an al a carte plate again which worked well. I had the strawberry margarita on the rocks this time and it was ok but not one of the better ones. The service is always great with the lady greeting every table to see how we are doing. I ordered the Al Pastor chimichanga, I love the tasty Al Pastor with a ground beef enchilada/red sauce with rice/beans. The plate was served hot and looked great once again. My Al Pastor chimichanga was tasty with generous pork and cheese, I just like the Al Pastor here. The ground beef enchilada in a corn tortilla with red sauce topped with cheese was meaty also and good. The beans were good also topped with cheese. The rice was nicely cooked and I poured the chunky salsa on top and mixed the beans into the. I really like how the meals are hot and that they don't skimp on meat or cheese because it's a tasty/meaty cheesy dish that gets me in the door. The prices are Very reasonable because two meals with two margaritas and one lg soda was $27 for lunch which is not bad. The Al Pastor will get me back again in another build my combo plate.

fantastic authentic Mexican food, with a classic authentic Mexican food ambiance. family run place that always has awesome service. obsessed with their choriqueso (a huge portion of queso with chorizo served with tortillas). have had their tacos, loaded steak burrito & fajitas (fajitas may be my favorite because they're seasoned incredibly). we always order a half pitcher of margs for the two of us to split (pitcher has no ice when poured, so it's a healthy portion). bonus -- when you leave, they give you a shot of tequila.

In love! You name it, it was fabulous and authentic. The owner takes your order and calls everyone honey bun. Two salsa served and both were great. The guacamole was phenomenal. It had great flavor and had chunks! I always order mole and it is rarely good. This was amazing. The piece of chicken was huge. Rice and beans have actual flavor and probably the very best I have had in the US. I wish I lived here.

All of the servers and staff were friendly and attentive and they even offered us free shots at the end of our meal. The atmosphere was kid-friendly and the food was VERY reasonably priced. Overall it was a good experience. The food itself was very mediocre but you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap meal with great service, then this is your place! If I could give half stars, I would as it's not quite a 4 star place but not quite a 3 star either... Overall: 3.5 stars Food: 2.5 stars Atmosphere: 3 stars Price: 5 stars

Management here must be a joke. Tonight went with a party of 4. We were seated and told once the fryer was good to go we'd be given the complimentary chips. Our waitress was also the bartender, so I can understand she was busy before I continue with everything else. We waited for over 30 minutes and still had not gotten chips. All the tables around us had gotten chips. They also received refills of chips. I stopped the other waitress and asked if we would be able to get some chips soon. Our waitress had been bartending and hadn't been by us for a while yet suddenly at that moment she appeared behind me and let me know that they were extremely busy and she had a lot to do and that I needed to be more UNDERSTANDING and had an attitude as she said it. It wasn't said with politeness or with customer service in mind. I wasn't rude to the other waitress. I didn't allude to the fact that it was our waitress's fault or put blame on anyone. I simply asked for chips because we had noticed them coming as refills and we hadn't even gotten our first batch. Our waitress was literally shaking as if she was ready for a fight while she sat her rant at me. I told her the aforementioned and she responded by saying those were the other waitress's tables and not that waitress's problem. SHE was our waitress and SHE was busy. Well, honestly, that's precisely why I asked the other waitress because I doubt running a tray of chips out would have been that big of a hassle for her and if our waitress was so busy that she couldn't run out chips I don't see why she had the time to hop on over to scold me like a child. Pretty sure she could have grabbed the chips and ran them out instead with a simple "Sorry for the wait." But that's alright... Now on to the subject of understanding. What she didn't ask and failed to understand was that there were two diabetics at the table, both of whom take medications. We've been to this establishment multiple times and have ALWAYS had long wait times but, because the food is good, we usually don't mind. Tonight however we just needed some carbs at the table because my sugat was dropping. Shame she didn't bother to be UNDERSTANDING although she was so adamant I should be. Also unrelated to her rudeness but they're always out of everything. Horchata is almost always out. Stuffed Poblanos and Posole were out because they don't get made in the summer apparently. I didn't know and I ordered some tonight. She was snarky about that, too. If your establishment doesn't make it then why is it on the menu? It should at the very least say it's a seasonal item. Don't come at me with that attitude because your establishment lists things they don't make year round. I'm not psychic. Maybe try to be more UNDERSTANDING of that. In short, the place's customer service has been waning. They can barely handle half a house. Then on top of it the bitch was rude. The other waitress for the record ran out half our stuff when it was ready. We made it clear to her that she wasn't our waitress at least when I was scolded by the other one that's what we were told. So she couldn't run out some chips but she could run everything else? Once again, pointless to scold me when you literally had her doing all YOUR work. In the end I didn't even get her name because one of us paid the bill and forgot to grab the copy. Otherwise I would have named her here. But it shouldn't be hard to pinpoint who it was since there were only 2 on duty, and I reiterate, this one was the one bartending. Also she didn't even offer us the end of dinner apple pie shots that were brought to everyone else. She obviously can't stay objective and instead decided to be abrasive. Hopefully this business does the right thing and corrects or gets rid of her rude ass and she learns to be more UNDERSTANDING and gains some humility.

I really like this place because it has an upscale decor done in a nice way with a long elegant bar, hi tables next to the bar, big booths, big wrap around windows with elegant light fixtures. I was started chips/salsa and I ordered a multi colored margarita. The chips were thin/fresh but not seasoned. The salsa was good with avocado chunks and some nice heat finish. The multi color margarita was thick and ok but it lost it self with all the flavors in one large glass. I would order the combination plate with one taco, enchilada and tostada with choice of meat that comes with rice and beans. Service was ok and my food came quickly and it had a nice presentation on a rectangular plate. The ground beef enchilada was cheesy but fairly bland. The steak taco was not seasoned very well either but it had tiny diced skirt steak with a char grilled flavor and very good, the tiny diced meat was genus because none of the meats will be chewy and hard to eat. The tostada was Al pastor with lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese that was good with a sweet taste in the pork. The beans were super thick topped with cheese and the rice was perfect for mixing with the beans and topped with hot sauce. Overall was it the best Mexican restaurant no because I like more seasoned food but it was good and better than average. Even though I forgot to review it on my first visit I did remember that the margaritas were big and I did enjoy the food.

I ordered a skinny margarita and wow the best skinny margarita i ever had... i ended up having two!! I ordered A La Carte and had the steak taco, shrimp taco and a side of rice. The steak taco is absolutely amazing. Very generous portions and good quality thinly sliced steak. Finally good quality steak. The shrimp taco was good however was a little lacking not enough shrimp in the shells. It was a little too dry. I would definitely add a sauce especially if adding the bacon.. maybe some sort of chipotle aioli would be bomb. Nonetheless this is my new favorite spot. Amazing staff and quality of food.
