We arrived on a Friday after flying in from Idaho on our way to Sheboygan. We were torn between breakfast and lunch and decided to go with breakfast. I had the eggs Benedict with a cup of coffee. My husband had the basic breakfast. The eggs Benedict were just okay; the Benedict sauce was very yellow and kind of tangy. The eggs and plate were swimming in it; they could have used 1/3 as much, and that would have been plenty. The hash browns were unremarkable; I would have preferred that they be somewhat crispy. My husband's breakfast: scrambled eggs were good, bacon quite good, and the pancakes were also good. I had coffee with my breakfast, which our server made sure to keep refilled. Stopped in on Labor Day on my way to Grant Park. The restaurant isn't that big and most of the tables were full but the staff was really friendly and welcoming. I needed coffee and they kept my cup refilled. I had the salsa verde omelette with pancakes because I always get pancakes at breakfast when it's an option. The omelette was good and I liked the potatoes, but the pancakes were great, hot with butter and warm syrup. Next time I may just get pancakes. But the chicken in the omelette tasted homemade and I enjoyed the meal overall. Cute little cafe also. read more

We had a wonderful mother's day brunch here at Cafe Le Creme (I actually think they have slightly changed the name since I visited but the menu looks the same). Don't be intimidated by the crowds...we came at 12:00 on mother's day...so yes :) there was a bit of a wait. They don't take reservations but you can give your name and number and they will let you know when something opens. I would say the wait was about 30 minutes. Staff was so friendly and accommodating though. It's an old house, and the service was great. Coffee, tea and water were kept quickly refilled and our food came out pretty quick. Highlights included the California omelet and Le Creme crepes. Despite the crowd and the fact that there's no official parking lot, I found angle parking right across the street pretty quickly. Id love to go back and try a savory dish or their French toast. Don't count cudahy out for brunch! read more

This morning we came to our usual spot for our Sunday breakfast and found out that not only was this place under a new ownership, but also the name changed to Café La crème brûlée. The menu has also been updated with a few new things although our server did say that they did not get a shipment in to fill those quite yet they added things such as a chicken skillet. That looks really really good. I ended up getting a morning starter with two eggs over easy and French toast. Everything was really tasty however, when I had some of the bacon it was very salty. We also ordered the healthy skillet minus spinach because for some reason, I just can't do spinach and a skillet. Had a side of bacon, and that was also really salty. Not sure what happened because this is never usually the case. It was pretty crowded today and if you were having more than two people up for a table, you're probably gonna have to wait a little bit, but it's definitely worth the weight and the menus nice although I miss the laminated ones. It wasn't too loud in the restaurant today and everything came out pretty quickly. Like I said, this is our usual spot so we'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to trying in the new menu items ! read more

Not many places do breakfast and lunch well. This place does. Across from old train station and an old two story house. Great service but really great food. I had a patty melt with soup. Solid. I like mine med to med rare and they did it perfect. Most places overcook it. My FIL got his jalapeno burger well done and he loved it. Carnivore Skillet- good and my husband had no complaints! He said it's hard to mess up a skillet. Pancakes were delicious Breakfast Sandwich and hash browns were cold and the sandwich got a bit soggy after it was sitting on my plate for a few minutes. Made my return today, and I was less impressed than I was during my first visit about a month ago. I ordered the Denver omelette and it was pretty overdone. Like overdone to the point where I couldn't get past the first few bites. I got fresh fruit for one side, which mostly consisted of tough, unripe honeydew, and pancakes for my other side. The pancakes were fine. No complaints there. Our server was super friendly and incredibly efficient, but almost to the point where the experience felt a bit rushed. It was pretty packed when we arrived around 10 a.m., so we got a spot at the bar. Aside from the spare chairs stacked behind us (heavily detracting from the ambiance IMO), it was a fine spot to sit. To be honest, I don't know if Cafe Le Creme (still a little unclear about the name of this restaurant) will be at the top of my list when I look for a Sunday breakfast spot in the future. read more

Got breakfast at La Crema this past Sunday and it was delicious! We arrived at around 11 am and didn't have to wait for a table which was nice! We were greeted right away when we got to our table and our waitress was very nice. It was pretty busy when we were there but overall it had a really nice atmosphere and we were able to enjoy each other's company. For food we got omelets and pancakes. Both omelets were delicious and so were the pancakes. It's a good amount of food that you get and is decently priced. I definitely want to go back to try some other items on their menu! read more

This was the new restaurant of the week stop by for breakfast. The building is kinda unusual with a turret in front which makes for a cozy dining spot in the restaurant. The decor is like country cafe. The service was kinda slow because every table was in use on my visit. The menu has all the regulars and the carnivore skillet would be my choice with sourdough bread. Skip the sourdough toast because it's so generic/commercial and for all I know it was white bread with no similarity to sourdough bread. The carnivore skillet is ham, sausage, bacon, cheese on a bed of potatoes. I was kinda unimpressed with the skillet but not for what you might think, it was heavy on the meat but very light on the potatoes which is the opposite of the usual skillet and I was craving potatoes. I've been door dashing at this place and finally got to try it myself. It's a cute little place with ample seating and a bar. They are open for breakfast/brunch until 3pm. There is plenty of parking on the street. My daughter had the stuffed french toast. Topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream. The interior was stuffed with cream cheese. $13. My friend suggested this place for brunch and we checked it out on a Saturday about noon. It's located just past St. Francis, in Cudahy and it's located near was appears to be their 'downtown'. The place is charming and clean with street parking very close by, I didn't have any issues. They have a variety of brunch and lunch options, we all opted for brunch. There were 3 of us total and we all enjoyed our meals! They offer pancakes as a toast option too, which I always love. Service was great, especially since we delayed ordering a few times since myself and my friends were too busy catching up HA. I would definitely visit again, it was less than 15 minutes from downtown Milwaukee. Note they close at 3PM. read more

It's next to the Cudahy historical society and in a seemingly historic building. I had called to make a "reservation" the day before for 11am on a Sunday and our table was ready at 10:50am. The place was completely full though. The waitress was very polite and very attentive. The food portions were large, but it wasn't the best brunch or breakfast food I've had in the area. We went to La Crema on a Saturday morning for brunch and there was about a 15 minute wait...not too bad. The place is small and the service was good. I ordered the chicken and waffles, while my husband ordered the pancake meal, which came with eggs and a meat. He chose sausage Pattie's. Our meal took about 20 minutes to come out after ordering, which was fine. Once we ate our food and had time to digest, my husband said he thought everything was pretty average and wasn't sure if he would order it again. My food was tasty with the hot honey, but the chicken didn't taste like something they made in house, but rather came frozen and was fried. First visit. Nice menu with many options. The place was busy but not packed (day before Thanksgiving). It was, however, louder than a diner on 5th Avenue in NYC during the morning rush! The server seemed to think I was deaf and spoke very loudly yet fast. We sat in a comfortable booth but shrieking children ruined the ambiance of room. Our breakfast was very tasty, serving size was fairly large and a good value. But, The decaf coffee tasted like Nescafé or some other powdered instant. Perhaps next visit I will try the caffeinated coffee. We will likely return for breakfast and another chance to enjoy a meal. read more

After traveling home, discovering they gave me the wrong order and then having to go back to the restaurant, they would not give me a full refund even though I no longer wanted the food I originally ordered due to the inconvenience. We were recently in the area picking up a new (but actually not new at all--very vintage) bicycle at South Shore Cyclery and decided to pick up some lunch in the area, which brought us to La Crema. What a cute spot! The dining area was impeccably clean (and we were there on a holiday weekend). Our party of four was able to be seated straight away. It looks like they are most known for their breakfast items, but they do have a lovely lunch menu as well. I ordered their veggie melt, which was served on sourdough and tasted a bit like a veggie philly. It was delicious. For my side, I got their french fries which were thick cut, crispy, and delicious. Avocado, bacon and slightly spicy jalapeño... very flavorful. The fruits were fresh and actually a lot for a side. The pancakes were fluffy and yummy - they served warm syrup and I liked that! My only suggestion is that since they just opened, be prepared to wait as the service could be slow when they are busy.
