I called in an order for pick up. Received a friendly, welcoming, fast service, there is a beautiful dessert display in front of the register, i did fall for it and it was totally worth the indulgence, absolutely delicious. Plenty of food. Everything tasted amazing, perfect seasoning. Will absolutely return!!!

Mediterranean omelet, hash browns and toast

Beautiful, casual place I read about as a must try. Fortunately for me today was the day. Hungry and ready for a well prepared, filling breakfast I was not disappointed and neither was my dining partner. Warmly greeted with a jovial smile and attentive server had me warm and feeling valued. While menu may not be extensive the offerings had a wide variety without being overwhelming. Although I still couldn't decide . I settled on the Mediterranean skillet prepared perfectly from the base of creamiest hash browns, top with brightly colored green and red peppers, sautéed onions generous portion of gyro meat all topped with two beautiful over easy eggs. Great pride in preparation and only suggestion is a plate under the skillet dish to hold my toast. Also for any of the generous portioned skillet to fall upon rather than the table. I did not want to miss a morsel of this scrumptious meal. My partner remarked about the creaminess of the hash browns as his was on the side. He said so different and delicious than the hard crispy fare one usually receives lacking flavor. The rye bread also was noteworthy to him marbled and a generous size. His omelet was a generous portion and filled with gyro meat and vegetables. I look forward to returning for lunch lots of Greek options to choose from and more. Coffee was great and always kept full. Stellar service and phenomenal quality food. Now to meet the chef ‍

Veggie omlet and waffle.. so good.

Had a wonderful meal as usual at Old Town. The Cheese Burek was very well prepared and tasted…read moreexcellent as did the stuffed zucchini. Along with the dinner, delicious mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables were served. They present an excellent appetizer to be spread on homemade bread. The cherry strudel is still top notch as always..Highly recommend the restaurant for healthy, tasty food and a most attentive owner.

Stopped by Old Town on New Year's Day with family for our holiday meal. I've been to another family…read morerestaurant in the Bay View area, Three Brothers, several times but this was my first visit to this establishment. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. If you're looking for a fine dining experience I would recommend this place. Entering a large neatly appointed dining room filled with Serbian art and family photos, we were seated at a large table to accommodate our party of eight. Tables were linen covered and folded linen napkins rested on an appetizer/bread plate, signaling we were going to experience a meal served with pride. Service was quick and good but we were the only party in the restaurant that evening. We ordered Serbian tomato salad, the tomatoes were fresh and meaty with peppers, onion and feta cheese. We all enjoyed it. As an appetizer we chose Chevapchichi, grilled sausages that were juicy and flavorful and kept us busy until our meals arrived. A bread basket was provided with fresh warmed bread and was refilled throughout our meal. Most at the table ordered burek, either the meat and cheese or the spinach and cheese variety. These were large, no one could finish their entire dish, but everyone loved them. I chose the goulash, a favorite dish my grandmother used to make. While it lacked the paprika flavoring that I enjoyed at Three Brothers, it was an excellent dish and the meat was fork tender, melting in your mouth. It was served with a scoop of mashed potatoes, two potato dumplings with gravy. Also included was a nice serving of green beans. We sampled several desserts, Serbian cookies, cherry strudel, strawberry palachinke and chestnut Schaum. All were excellent. Several in our party had coffee and their cups were refreshed several times. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed Old Town. Talking with the owner we learned a bit about the history of the family's time in Milwaukee and their restaurants. Milwaukee has lost a lot of good European restaurants over the years, hopefully Old Town continues to provide the city with good meals for years to come. The location is on the city's south side just off the freeway and a stone's throw from St. Josaphat's basilica, a parking lot is just behind the building housing the restaurant. Can't wait to come back for another meal.

Talk about a hidden gem right in my own backyard…read more I used to walk by this place with my dog every day. It wasn't until an old lady sitting at one of the tables outside that drew me in. My dog was hot and she offered him water and a few bites of gyro meat. We got talking and I decided to come back when I didn't have my dog to order inside. I returned a few days later without Duke and went inside. It's your typical Greek style hole in the wall place that Milwaukee has a lot of. It's cute, it's cool in summer and they have the Gameshow Network on a small TV in the corner. I went to the counter and ordered a cheeseburger with fries. They asked if i wanted them seasoned, which I said sure. I remember the total being cheaper than I expected, HOWEVER -- it's cash only. They have an ATM in the back, but there's a fee. To the good parts, the food. Simply put -- the burger is terrific. After taking the first few bites, I was surprised and upset with myself for never coming here before. It's always Kopps, or Gillies or some other place. But The Gyros Stand definitely belongs in that class. The buns are toasted with butter (Wisconsin classic style) and they put just the right amount of pickles, tomatoes, mustard and mayo on it (I like weird condiments). The burger itself had a great taste to it -- a thin patty but large in circumference. It was tender and juicy cooked perfectly in between that delicate haven of goodness; not overdone, not undercooked. Just perfect. For the fries, I didn't mind the seasoned fries but it just wasn't my thing. I'm not a huge fan of seasoning on my fries. I've had the regular style (crinkle cut with salt) since and enjoy them. If you've ever wondered what underrated tastes like, please do yourself a favor and stop in.

Honestly wish I could give this place a 5. However I was so disappointed walking in and frankly not…read moreexcited with the food. I love Greek food but this place just missed the mark. Will not be back again. :(
